I was very intrigued by the cover and book blurb and I'm so glad Warren let me have a copy to listen to. The world building of this book is so good. The characters feel complex and their motives actually make sense, even if you don't necessarily agree with them. It does start pretty abruptly, but that's my own fault for not reading Hell Above Me before this. I would like to point out that there is a bit of graphic gore and violence, so readers should beware if that's a trigger for them. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.

Zachary Johnson does a great job narrating. He's a fast reader, even for me, but that's more of a positive thing from my perspective than perhaps most audiobook listeners.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

I really enjoyed this book. Interesting, well written, entertaining and engaging. Creative, unique and timeless world the author has created. The story pulls you in from the first paragraph and never lets go. I did not want to stop listening. Definitely worth your time.

In the beginning of the book I was totally confused as to who all the players are. That is my own fault, I did not listen to the first book in the series. There are a lot of characters. It took me a while to get them all straight. I would not consider this a standalone book. Definitely read the first book before starting this one. It's a complex story with a lot of characters.

Political intrigue, abilities, action, suspense, space travel, alien worlds, telepathics more. How could you not be pulled into this unique world and not be thoroughly entertained. The story is constantly moving forward with a large cast of great characters, so there is never a dull moment throughout the book. So just hang on for the ride.

I will be going back and reading/listening to the first book. Just for the pure enjoyment and to get the backstory on all of the characters. Fortunately according to the author there is also going to be or there is a third installment to the series, hopefully that book will also be available on Audible soon and with any luck will have Zachary Johnson as the narrator.

Zachary Johnson did a great job with the narration. Nice voice easy to listen to for hours at a time. Clearly spoken. Narration flowed smoothly and evenly. The story is fast paced and the narration matches the story. Fast when needed, slower when needed. Great character voices. He was able to bring the characters and the story to life. Overall very enjoyable.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook by the narrator, author or publisher.

Pretty cool book but I'm wondering what happened to book 1. Not available on Audible yet. Loved the narration by Zachary Johnson
