This book left a dark, tangy feel in my mouth.
Horror, gore filled craziness!

You all know I love my dark books, so I'm giving you my warning. You won't find any romance this one, if your looking for redeeming qualities, you won't find that either. If you like date nights with psychopaths, well then, hop on.

Nathan is a writer by day, lunatic by night. Are his books one of imagination or based off true events? Four friends on vacation, I think. Have rented the house next door. Meeting Nathan is their worst nightmare. One is a fan of his writing and won't stop until she's brought his words to life. Don't enter the dungeon, if you can't handle the chains, kids. Don't go knocking on a stranger's door, you never know what hides in their basement. He's one sick mofo, no fucks given. His appetite exceeds some of the most darkest characters I've read. (Don't say I didn't warn you.)

"Many people have called me insane, a sadist, or a psycho. Each name is only a word labeling my addiction of sexual torture. The same demon pressing at me every night before I go to sleep."

Flashbacks gave me the start of his wickedness. Are some born evil or a product of society? Each character had a secret or hidden agenda, flawed in one way or another, I wanted from a connection to at least one of them. Although I love a great serial killer, I feel like something was missing with Nathan. Probably because he's far too gone to come back. Which is funny, because I get a kick out of crazy. But that little Angel on my shoulder is always looking for something redeemable. I wondered if Nathan slathered animals in his youth. I'm simply intrigued, I want to know all the details about this character. This is a bite size piece of Nathan, it certainly packs a punch, but I'd love a full-length novel. I'd like to delve deeper into his psyche.

I'd classify this as pitch black. You might need therapy when you finish.

There is something special about 'old school' horror movies, you know that kids in the woods story that has your hackles up and makes you want to yell "DONT OPEN THE DOOR." Well I got that same feeling reading this. The unique inner voice of Nathan combined with that horror feeling make for a very unique DARK read.
We have Nathan an author who writes torrid tales and has secrets buried so deep you will want a shovel to dig them all out. His stories are more truth than lies and his blood lust (and lust lust because let's just say he's hot as F) makes for a fabulous start to the story of a psychopath. I adore mentally screwed up characters, and I have added Nathan to my list of hot crazy people.

This is a novella and the start of a series I look forward to exploring. It is DARK, it is SEXY, there is lots of BLOOD and things that will make you clench your butt cheeks so read the WARNING first. Overall a fantastic debut in this genre and I look forward to more (that is secret code for you had better be writing Adam)

WOW! I feel like I could murder some people right about now. I really like this. :)
description

This is pretty fucked up and so very good. It also makes me think twice about some of the books I've read. LOL! So.... is your browsing history on your computer really just research for writing? ;) Or are they resources for true stories?

Anyway, this book starts off with one of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. Bravo! It was hard, hot and dirty and I loved it. Then we get a little bit deeper into Nathans head and see a glimpse of the darkness that is just below the surface. Then all of the sudden..... (sorry, can't reveal secrets here)

description

So, Nathan hops in his car and heads to one of his secluded and peaceful homes. When he arrives, he finds there are a bunch of annoying people hanging out at his neighbors house. There is one girl that catches his eye and that is Adrianna. She is a huge fan of Nathan's books and invites him to join them for dinner. Sure why not...

"This would be my first time wanting to slaughter a reader, but then again, I can pretend she’s one of those cranky ass reviewers that think they are literary gods."

While there, Nathan meets Mandy, Bo and Cory. Typical, snotty college brats. You know the type... the ones that are first to die in a horror movie because they went and had sex in the woods and they never return. They question Nathan about the controversial content of his books.

description

Don't poke the bear kids... you just might get bitten. Anyway, Nathan has things he needs to do and things he needs to bury. While he is taking care of business, he stumbles across a scene between Mandy and Bo.... in the woods. Nathan is immediately intrigued by Mandy and the scene unfolding before him. Maybe she isn't as innocent as she pretends.

"I try to keep the beast tamed, but self-control is no longer on my side."

description

"Eventually nightmares become reality, and I am the one that harnessed them. I embrace them to create the monster I am today."

This is pretty much where the darkness really comes to light. It's like a Tender date gone terribly wrong and now you're stuck with the Boogeyman.

"I'm going to enjoy everything that you're about to hate."

description

"There is nothing that can bring me back from Lucifer's playground."

Why 4 stars? Meh, I had little issues with some things. Like some wrong words in sentences, not a lot, but enough to notice. Spelled correctly, but missed by spell check (final vs Finally). Also, if this many people have gone missing... there are a lot of careless mistakes being made. Seriously... don't shit where you eat. It's too close to home. Also, how is it that Nathan can find the g-spot every single time on different women. He must have some serious skills.

Overall, I really liked it. It was shocking, different and cringe worthy and times it made me want to vomit. Exactly what I needed at the moment. I'm warning you though, there is extreme violence and possible triggers for some people. If you're a fan of horror than you will love this. I cant wait to read more from these authors.

"Tomorrow we will watch the world burn."

It was crazy, it was gory, and in between, it was strangely sexy at times. It was exactly as I thought it would be.
Nathan is as disturbed as the characters he writes about in his horror novels because...well, they're true accounts of his life, after all! He goes to his vacation home on the lake to get away from it all and to get rid of some *ahem* evidence, but there are some annoying college aged neighbors partying it up next door. What to do, what to do...
What follows is what you'd expect in an erotic horror, and it's pretty gruesome. It could've used a good proofread--robes switch colors, blood is drawled, etc--but I enjoyed the characters and Reese's writing style.

Revised Review

I struggled all night and all day today about this review I wrote last night. As a blogger, editor, PA, reader, MOM .. you get it .. I try to be a little cautious in the way I write my reviews, which causes me to hold back pertinent information from you, who is reading this review. So, I am going all out because I did not give this story the credit it deserved and if you're offended, my apologies, but we are supposed to write honest reviews, right? Right.

My jaw is still open!!! This book, Deadly Dominance, took me to a new level of "I need something different to read!" I sometimes scan and scan my Kindle looking for that one story that is different than all the rest. I am lucky every once in a while. I struck gold with this one.

There has been some controversy over this story. I get it. I'm not usually a horror reader, either, unless it's Patricia Arnette/P Mattern (well, who doesn't love her work?). I picked up Deadly Dominance with a little trepidation and a lot of curiosity because of the different ways other readers have perceived it. I am one who needs to form my own opinion, so this is what Deadly Dominance did to me.

In an erotic, horrific way, this book caused my panties to drop, just as quickly as my jaw did. Yep! I'm not lying. There's only one other author who has done that to me and she is the wonderful Jennifer Sage. Yes ... Nathan is a twisted man, but he's calm, collected, witty and downright interesting.

As I read this book, I couldn't f***ing BELIEVE my body's response to such an intense, gory, erotic, horror novel!! What. Did. I. Just. Read? Wow! The authors threw me into a tailspin, wondering to myself, "What does it say about me that I was actually sexually excited when reading this story?" Yes. I wondered that and still wonder that even now. How could a story like this do that to me???

I don't know if any of you have ever read Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, but I have and it is fantabulous!! Which is exactly what this story did for me - it made me remember that awesome several books (huge books) series by Terry Goodkind and I can only equate the authors writing to that standard of excellence. Is it for everyone? No. Was it for me? Hell, yes! I didn't want to write this review. I didn't want to come out and admit how much this story affected me, but the more I thought about it, the more wrong I felt inside about not giving the authors the proper credit for this crazy, wonderful story ... and I can't WAIT for book two.

So, give it a try. If you like a dark novel, this is probably, definitely, for you. I give high kudos to the writers who had the courage to come out and write such a story! You can just keep my panties I lost in this book because I don't imagine I'm going to be needing them when I read book two, Deadly Demons, releasing on Halloween 2016.

First Review

I really connected with a few of the quotes written in this story:

"We talked for hours about the first time we met and the possibilities of living the white picket fence perfect life."

Yeah. I get that. I spent my life trying to live the socially approved lifestyle, but I'm finally free of that stifling pettiness and I'm happy to be me, which is the very reason I decided to revise this review and to write what I truly felt, rather than what is socially acceptable. <3

"When you read words someone else has written, you can't help but instantly connect to that person. You know through the darkness in their words that they're just as fucked up as you."

Oddly, there were some things I could relate to in this story and I felt very connected to the author's words. When a writer can cause me to stop and think, "They've lived this life before; these words are true," that's when I know I've found a diamond in the rough in the writing artist. I feel I've found exactly that with the authors in this story and I encourage you to read it ... if you're not afraid of the dark, the gore, and the details of brutal and fascinating sex or death scenes ... go for it! This book was a fantastic read and I recommend it.

Erotic horror at its best!!! Oh m'gosh! I wasn't sure what to expect. However, whatever I assumed would be in the pages of this lovely piece of literature is NOTHING compared to what is ACTUALLY written in this bad boy!! This story sucks you in from page one and the roller coaster is nonstop until the very last word on the last page! Only an artist/author/dark genius has the talent to word porn and engage the reader from page one!

Nathan. Such a sweet innocent, non-descript, run of the mill dorky name. Don't let the name fool ya! Dude makes psychopaths look like high school cheerleaders! To be fair Nathan endured a messed up childhood and after a particular childhood incident, a sexual deviant/murderer is born! It's so amusing to read Nathan believes there is no one in the world like him......uh yeah. Hold tight readers, the freaks really do come out at night!

Five amazing stars as I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning to finish this bad boy! There's something about Nathan that's soooooo hot! Read it. Absorb it. I'm sure if you're honest, you'll experience the feels as well!

This book is erotic HORROR. If you are a sensitive reader, DO NOT proceed. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. This book is for mature adults only who appreciate the darkest end of the dark spectrum. The cover is a dead giveaway. Do not attempt to read this book if you're not open to horror. It is NOT fair to flay the author of this work because you did not adhere to the warning and proceeded to read! Trolls suck and if you're mad, then you've been pegged!

I started this story at the beginning of the week and after reading the first few chapters I wasn't sure about it. To be perfectly honest, I was kind of afraid of going further, but I'm glad I did.

Okay this is honestly the darkest, sickest, most disturbing story I have EVER read in my life. And I've read a lot of books. But for some reason, I was completely captivated by Nathan and his twisted inner desires.

This is definitely not a romance, it's erotic horror at it's best. When you finish reading it you won't have a case of 'the feels' or 'the warm fuzzies.' If you're anything like me, your heart will be racing, and your mind reeling. Feelings similar to what you'd experience after watching a really scary movie.

If I had to summarize what this story was like, this is the closest I could come up with. If the show Dexter and the movie Saw had a baby, Deadly Dominance would be their love child. Although Nathan makes Dexter look like a prude.

Adam thank you for introducing me to the truly DARK side. Now I need to get my hands on the sequel.

This book!! OMG, Nathan was everything I look for in a book boyfriend. He isn't your typical hero/anti-hero, he is so much more. He is brutal, he is a killer, and he doesn't apologize for it.

Deadly Dominance was a refreshing read for me. I haven't been so sucked into a book in a while and DD definitely kept me clutching my Kindle. I had to know what happened next. I couldn't put it down!

If you're looking for read that will suck you in and keep you racing to the next page, Deadly Dominance is for you! And those erotic scenes......HOLY SHIT! This is what dark is all about.

Holy Moly, this book was on another level. What the absolutely fuck did I just read? What did I just put myself into? Only crazy people read books like this. Actually people who are whacked in the brain read books like this. Well now, I am now part of the whacked group of people who absolutely love Deadly Dominance. This book was just on a different stratosphere and I was left flabbergasted. Actually more like I was just in disbelief.

Deadly Dominance was a wild ride. I could not believe what was happening in this book at all. This book is a horror. It is not for the faint hearted. It is not a romance nor a book about unicorns dancing on rainbows. No this book is dark in its darkest form. It has situations that will make you cower and bring you nightmares. My limits were definitely tested when I was reading this book. But holy smokes, it was amazing. It was just purely dark and horror perfection. This is my first time reading horror of this magnitude and I was just left with such awe. You know this book reminded me of this scene is American Horror Story: Hotel where Lady Gaga's and Matt Bomer's character in a very a bloody scene. It was gruesome. This book was gruesome. But hey I am insane and I love insane things like these.

Nathan is a sick man. Very sick man but wow I loved him. He reminded me of Jason lol. Friday the 13th. Yes that Jason. He was so vivid and scary as hell. I even shook my head at most his scenes and I was just mesmerized and cringing at the same time. Yep, I am definitely been given the shock in my reading life ever. Wow. I am amazed.

I cannot wait what the next chapter of this series becomes. Its going to be awesome.

What the fuck did I just read?

It’s funny how it gets easier each time to kill. I try to keep this beast tamed, but self-control is no longer on my side.

Okay. Here goes. This is an extraordinarily difficult review to write, and I debated long and hard about the rating - because I genuinely found myself engrossed in this story. But there were a few things that just remained in the back of my mind the entire time I was reading it. I'll write this review a little differently from normal.

The good bits
- Gore. Lots of gore.
- Shock factor. And it takes a lot to shock me nowadays.
- Successfully combining erotica with horror and making me incredibly confused about my reactions. Like, the awkward moment you realise you have a lady boner when someone's being fucked so hard they pretty much die.
- Originality.

Staring at both bodies, one still breathing and the other slowly falling to death, I feel consumed by the darkness. There is nothing that can bring me back from Lucifer’s playground.

The bad bits
- This was too short; I wanted a slower build, and more suspense before the climax.
- I never really got to know the characters other than their utter psychopathy.
- I hate flashbacks. With a burning passion. They never fit seamlessly with the text.
- It was a little bit messy (and I'm not talking about the gore). The descriptions were sometimes pretty complex and it was difficult to grasp what was going on. There was no pacing; it was all gore and horror and bizarrely erotic creepy-ass sex (and creepy ass sex).

The worst bit
-It really could have done with a decent proofread. I can forgive ARCs, trusting that errors will be picked up, but I do expect a little more when I purchase a book.

“Let me be clear that you are about to step into my dark fantasy. I don’t know if you’ll make it to the other side with me because I don’t do any safe words. I only do what my body forces me to do. You have no control anymore, Slave. You are now just a piece of meat for me to play with,”

Overall, a crazily enjoyable, original, WTF storyline that will please fans of the pitch black genre, despite being hampered somewhat by its fast pacing, errors and underdeveloped characters.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Deadly Dominance imprisons your mind and leaves you helpless, as you are forcefully thrown into the mind of a psychotic killer.

From the very first chapter, as if you were one of his victims, you are trapped in its clutches.  Helpless.  All you can do is anxiously turn the page in a desperate search to find out what happens next.

I honestly did not know if I was more disturbed or turned on by this book.  It’s erotic, the writing is beautiful and the blood seems to magically flow throughout to execute a story that is not gory or in your face.  But intriguing.  The ending, however, is full of surprises and will leave you gasping for more.

This book is not for everyone.  Unfortunately, most will not be able to grasp the sheer volume and complexity of it.  It’s 18+ with lots of sex and violence (now that song is going to be stuck in my head for days). But if you like to read dangerously like I do, then this one is for you.

On a side note.  I recommend listening to K-Flay, Manson, NIN etc. while reading this. It heightens the mood.

Favorite Scene: Adrianna and the ending.

Favorite Quotes:
It’s time to face your demons, let them control this moment."

"I’m going to enjoy everything that you’re about to hate."

"Many people have called me insane, a sadist, or a psycho.  Each name is only a word labeling my addiction of sexual torture."

If your looking for Hard Core Horror, Blood, Gore, Sex And even a reference to The Human Centipede then look no further, Deadly Dominance has it all. I will admit I was hooked right from the start as you are thrown right into the deep end, right where all the action, or should I say killing, is and it just keeps on going.

Nathan is an Author who finds his inspiration for his successful writing career by letting his Demons come out to play. He comes off as charasamatic but deep down he really only wants to "play" with you and experiment with ideas in which he then writes his next novel. Along the way we are introduced to some secondary characters that also have some kind of dark secrets that are slowly revealed as the the story progresses. So all is not as it seems and although Nathan is all kinds of Psycho, Adrianna is going to be a surprise package.

As I said before this book grabbed me and I just had to read it in one sitting. I have now found anothe Genre that I love and a new Author to stalk.

If you're not afraid of a dark themed book, with some crazy ass characters---you need to read this. Everyone has demons, Nathan Andrews is an author, and he makes his into stories. There will be blood...there will be sex...and It's deadly. This is the best erotica/horror/thriller I've ever read. It's nothing like I've ever read before. I instantly connected to the characters and they pulled me into this twisted ride and I don't want it to end. Thank god there's going to be a book two.... if not I would fall off the grid, while I drowned in my own sorrow... lmfao Seriously Read this if you have a sick and twisted imagination!

First of all i was shocked by this book. When i first started reading, i thought it was one of those erotic books like every other one. I knew it was going to be good but OMG this is something else.

I love Nathan, the writer, the killer, the lover... I was in trance the whole time i was reading. I couldn't stop, i just wanted to know ! This book is not for everyone.

It has hard subjects and very mature content. If that kind of read is not for you, do not read this book.

But if you are looking for a great erotica ride like no other then grab this book now!

It's more than good it's the BEST Horror, Hardcore, Erotica i have ever read !!

Holy batshit batman! This one had me thinking Stephen King-ish thoughts but WAY more sinister.. AND I LOVED IT! MY only gripe about it... IT WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH so therefore I need book 2 like two weeks ago... LOL . I can't wait to see where the story line goes and am definitely looking forward to more stories like this and others from this Author. I want to say so much more but don't want to give the goods away... *Note if you are one with a weak stomach- or just plain boring... this one is NOT for you!*

This was a new author for me, and while I enjoyed this fast paced read, it was extremely dark. If you don't like dark stories then do not read this one! Adam Reese ( and Alexa Vice) painted a rather disturbingly dark tale that I for some reason couldn't put down. I was intrigued and grossed out and angry and sad and everything I should be every once in a while with a story like this one! I was intrigued from the very first few words and my jaw was almost to the floor by the last few words. Book 2 is something of a necessity to me..

**** Warning****
This story is very dark, twisted and not for anyone that doesn't like "horror "

This book is dark, twisted, repulsive and creepy. You won't want to put it down as the horror calls you and leads you on.

Everyone has demons, Nathan is no different and is unable to escape them.
His demons are horrific and no one understands him.

So twisted and yet brilliant! If you have ever wondered about the inner thinking of how evil a mind can get, this is a book for you.

4.5 stars!!

This probably wasn't the best book to read while suffering with a stomach bug, but I still loved it. It was completely deranged, psychotic, wrong and bloody but that's right up my street.... when I'm not sick to my stomach already.

A few things in this book bugged me all little, some parts could be repetitive, and in some places it was rushed. But regardless of these small issues, I really enjoyed this book.

I may be questioning the sanity of this author a little :p

Don't expect any kind of romance from this book. No hearts and flowers or any of that stuff. It's dark, dirty and brutal to the core and insanely fucked up. I loved every second of it. My only issue is that it was too short. I really would have loved for the book to be longer. If you need your horror erotica fix this is the book for you.

This book took a little while for me to get into. I'm not to sure why. Maybe because I've been on a dark binge?? But once I was in to it I couldn't flip pages quickly enough :)
Bed now then dd pt 2 when I awake ;)

Beginning to tire of books with underdeveloped characters. if I can't connect with the characters I can't connect with the book. Unfortunate since this book has huge potential.

I have to start off this review by being completely honest, of course. I was a little nervous to read it, because I've read horror and I've read erotica, but never together. lol Not even going to lie about that. I wasn't sure I was going to like it and couldn't even imagine how in the world someone could write a book with erotica and horror together and me actually enjoy it.

I'll get to my review of the actual storyline in a minute, but first I want to say something I loved the most, even more than the storyline itself. It's how surprised and shocked I was while reading this book. It's how many emotions I felt while reading it. It's how I cringed at times during certain scenes, but continued to read anyway because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I found myself gasping in disbelief at times and surprisingly I really liked Nathan and the other characters and how they developed throughout.

Now, the storyline itself. Well, I obviously don't want to give away any spoilers, but I will say that it is pretty epic and the ending had me in a panic, because I wished the second one was already out so I could buy it, too! The imagery throughout the entire book was just fantastic! It's very twisted and dark, but one hell of a ride if you can stomach it. I can't wait to read more of Nathan's story and find out what happens next on their journey and who will feed their next desire. ;)

This is a very dark read and I can't say that enough. It deals with very sensitive situations and very mature content. If you are easily offended, or even offended at all, you shouldn't read it. However, if you're open to new storylines and you can stomach the horror/erotica/very vivid details, then you NEED to read this book! It will BLOW YOUR MIND. Not sure how they sucked me into this one, but they did. I give this 5 stars for sure and will look for more from this author. Well done!!

This Book… HO-LEE-SHIT!

Dark, disturbing, and gory… Nathan is a sadistic dream. I started Deadly Dominance the moment it went live, at 2 am, and once I was done, all I could do was look at my kindle and think “WTH did I just read?”

As a horror erotica writer, Nathan Andrews takes research to a whole new level. Practicing what he writes… let’s just say, you definitely would not want to end up as his muse. I loved being inside Nathan’s head and getting to see the workings of a mind that was completely insane (in the best way possible). I have always loved characters who are unapologetic in their darkness, and oh does Nathan own it.

“Why… do you… do this?” he asks pathetically.
“Never been asked that, but I normally don’t have this much time to talk to my victims. I do this because the adrenaline and enjoyment of watching someone spill blood make makes me get a hard on.”

The ending of Deadly Dominance had me smiling like a lunatic. There is nothing I love more than someone as dark and twisted as Nathan finding his/her match, and Nathan has definitely found his in Adrianna. I can’t wait to see the fuckery Nathan and Adrianna get into in Deadly Demons.

"This is only the beginning. Tomorrow we will watch the world burn."

This book is true horror erotica to its very core. Bloody and not for the faint hearted, all I can tell you is, if you do not heed the warnings, it’s your own fault. If torture, rape, and truly horrific fuckery is not something you want to mess with, then I suggest you go read Twilight or some other flowery teen drama, because you will never be able to forget the imagery that Adam Reese is able to evoke, and it will haunt you for years to come.
