this was a fun read. i'm not going to tell you anything... other reviewers spoiled it for me... it was fun and exciting and I'm into the next in the series because I love the characters of Angela and Burke. Reminds me of 24 (tv series). the end

Very fast paced, Great read - the build up was amazing....I loved the ending and that it left it on a shocking cliff hanger that had me starting the second story immediately!

Quite short, but intriguing.

Will continue with the series, after all; you can't go wrong for 0.99 for a set of books...

I am writing a single review for both books 0 and 1 as one is a prelude to the other. Angela, a Texas border officer seeks her missing partner and comes upon evidence of ISIS sleeper cells within the US and the planning taken on their end to cause a major disaster from within. The main terrorist discovers that she was part of the raid that killed a family member and in retribution kidnaps her family - torturing and finally killing her husband on a live computer feed. She later hooks up with a CIA agent who goes rogue to rescue her girls, find the cells and prevent another national tragedy.

The story is filled with intrigue, heart-pounding action and edge of your seat suspense. The rogue CIA agent uses torture methods against an ISIS agent that are violent and gory and will make readers cringe - not realizing that the enemy does the same and even worse to non-believers - some killing their own children for the cause.

This story is the real deal and Roger Hayden has captured an audience that is waiting on baited breath for the next installment to see what happens next. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Great job, Mr. Hayden! Hurry up!

Barnburner

I picked this up to read because I am a apocalypse genre fan. This different kind than what I normally read but I think I am going to like it very much. It was action from the very first and the characters are on point. I don't want to ruin it for you, suffice to say, I can't wait to read book 1!!!!!!!

Timely subject

I really enjoyed this book but wasn't prepared for the "To be continued" ending. The book centers on the work of Board Patrol agents dealing with terror cells. It's a timely topic and one that is woven into this very suspenseful novel. Luckily, I bought the second book so I will now find out the exciting conclusion.

Good new series

I enjoyed this. Lots of action but believable in how its a regular person and how they would react. No over the top action or skills. Bit preachy\fear mongering about "Syrian" refugees though. Outside that its a good story showing how ISIS\IS might infiltrate the US.
