weak willed/minded SPOLIERS

Sydney is very weak minded. Every time her and and Dean have an argument she runs into the arms of another man. Atleast her ex respected her relationship enough not to engage. Ian on the other hand did not and I don’t blame him, she was easy.

Sydney wanted to give Ian a try and looked for every reason to excuse his behavior. Her and Deans argument just gave her the opening she needed.

Not sure how the author is able to write her as the victim when it’s very clear she’s not. Sydney is greedy. Dean opened doors for her and instead of appreciating them she finds Ian and “gets a little crush on him”. Even ignoring her mother’s warnings and continuing a relationship that was obviously more than work.

If I knew this is where the books were headed I would have saved my money. Dean wasn’t a saint but he deserved more than Sydney and her manipulations.

Also very weird how the author who looks nothing like the character likes to harp on the characters complexion. We get it she’s light skinned.

Wow

This was a very good book, I finally see how Sydney and Ian came togather......i really live how this author intertwine the characters from her other books, great job.
I love Sydney's and Dean relationship some times you have to go through obstacles to see what you have is good and to overcome them to make the relationship better.
I really like Sarah and Jamesson as well and can't wait to see how there story unfolds....
Great job Vera Roberts.

Power Play (Breakaway Book 4) by Vera Roberts Let me start out by saying this is the first book that I have read by Vera Roberts.  I didn’t realize that this is the fourth book in a continuing story about the same characters.  It seems like most sports romances highlight different characters in each book in the series.  That being said, I followed the story with no problems.  I’m sure I would have felt more invested in the characters if I read the previous books.  I am curious to go back and read the preceding books.

I like both Dean Winchester and Sydney Walker.  Having an art background, I like that Sydney is an artist.  I really liked Dean’s character.  The couple faced a lot of issues in this story.  They are constantly dealing with the paparazzi. Ian Ferguson made the story interesting.  He is Sydney’s new art curator.  He has taken an interest to more than her art.  To make things more complicated his family owns the team Dean plays on, the Kings – yikes!  There were some interesting situations and conflicts in the story.  I felt that Dean was getting the blame for all the things that went wrong.  I thought that Sydney and Ian were just as much, if not more, at fault.  The plot was believable and interesting.  I liked the ending and am interested in finding out what happens next.

Miscommunication and lack of trust

I love that Sarah and Jameson got it together yet I was disappointed with Sydney. First, Roman but he turned her down cause he knew she was no longer his. Ian you claim something that's not yours so take several seats. Dean and Sydney get it together like your friends cause Sydney pulled a thot move sleeping with Ian and giving false hope. Lady V loved the book even though Sydney pissed me off.

Ending

I can't believe the ending. Will there be another Dean and Syd story? How do you sleep with someone shortly after breaking up with your Fiancé? Ok storyline, abrupt ending. No indication of another.

Ok, at the beginning of this series I could see both sides and sometimes call a spade a spade. Especially with Dean's dealings with Rebecca and then Sydney's dealings with Roman. Now to get to this book and Sydney's complete refusal to see Dean's point of view and then her immediately jumping down his throat over a picture and then on top of all of that turning around and fucking Ian, I can't anymore. Like come the hell on. It was obvious to her, she knew. She played dumb on purpose. And then she wants to act self righteous at the end with Dean. Now I can see if Ian kissed her and she then turned him down, but she slept with Ian. So it in turn proved that Dean was right to feel what he felt about her relationship to Ian. And yea Dean was being an ass about her studio space. But his problem was that he didn't communicate with her, not that he didn't support her. And Sydney's problem is that she was always looking for excuses to believe the worst about Dean when Dean has never gave her a reason to doubt him. Yes Rebecca plays her games, but Dean has never crossed the line with Rebecca. And twice has Sydney immediately turned to another man after being mad. The only difference was Roman loved her where as Ian just wanted to fuck, which he accomplished with a few well placed sentences that gas Sydney straight up. And yea Dean was in a picture with Rebecca, but Sydney used that as reasons to be mad and test Dean. While she happily let Ian whisper sweet nothings in her ear and didn't correct him when he undermined her relationship at every chance he got. But Dean never let Rebecca talk bad about Sydney. And yet Sydney gets to be the victim? Rme, spare me.

Bad, Bad, Bad Move

I have never ever read a book like this and hope to never do so again. With all of the grammar & poor sentence structure, left out words, added words, mess up of names & genders was bad enough.
However, the cheating was just too much. And blaming it on the man,,, really low. The woman was a weak wishy washy person from the get-go. I know there is another book after this which I purchased, but I won't be reading it...
Thanks A-lot! 😠
