Prince of Fate
Cain Hunt is addicted to adrenaline, an extreme sports athlete who is always going as fast as possible in an effort to outrace his own past. But all of that comes to a halt when he's called home as the second prince of his people and told he has been picked next for a mate by the oracle. Cain isn't sure he's fit to be anyone's mate, but when his match turns out to be curvy, sweet Brenna, a girl he grew up with and has always remembered, he is ready to do his best.

July 17, 2017Terry Bolryder is really very good at PRN. I enjoy her characters, and her intimate scenes are fun and hot. I just got done reading one of the tiger books (a free addition to the Prince of Fate book) and it was really good.

The author does not disappoint by giving readers an intriguing plot, and a cast of remarkable characters that come alive with the fabulous dialogue, fantastic banter, spine-chilling action, and dynamic vivid scene descriptions. You can’t help but love the characters and the author does a wonderful job showing how Cain used his job instead of facing his issues. The romance between Cain and Brenna sizzles to a slow passionate burn. I loved this story a most gratifying read and cannot wait for Axel's story. If you treasure shifter romances this is certainly a must-have for your library. {I was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review}. In the world of shifter fantasy romance, the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations, I recommend this set.

He left and never called or visited and now he shows up telling her the Oracle has proclaimed them mates. Not on her life. But that is exactly what it may be. She has a stalker. Can she keep safe and her grandmother protected or does she need him?
Time together brings back old memories and makes new ones. It also makes Cain remember why he never came back. Those memories haunt him and what he does to fight them just isn't going to be acceptable to his mate.
Is their love strong enough to overcame their enemies, their pain, and let them start a new life together?
Again Ms Bolryder has given us a couple we can only love and cheer them on. The responsibilities of royalty and the love of family are strong motivators. You will fall for them and be anxious to find out about the final brother's story. I know I am.

Two great stories for the price of one
I loved both stories, but maybe the second just a tad more since I reread it in this 2 story boxset. I already reviewed the second story on Jace, so here is my review of Prince of Fate.
Cain is a lion shifter prince, middle son so not the heir to the throne. He is a daredevil motocross biker and stuntman. The stunts he does are wickedly dangerous. The royal princes must mate who the oracles tells them to mate, or risk losing their kingdom. It is Cain's turn to mate. Only his chosen is really ticked off at him. This was a fun story but also a little sad as we learn why Cain takes such risks, a little nostalgic as he revisits his past, and a little dangerous as he has to fight for his mate. But I think his chosen's grandmother stole the show. She was a pip! Great book.

After meeting Cain at the end of the first book I knew there had to be a great backstory for him. To have him mated with Brenna, who he was close to as a child, was great. Her helping him work through his demons, while he protects her from a bully was great. I can't wait to see what happens with Axel.

Good story but shorter than i expected
I thought the story was good, but was disappointed with how short it was. I don't know if I didn't see it in the description, but only the first half is Prince of Fate. The second half was the first of the Tiger Protectors series called Tiger's Bounty. I like that story, but I already read it in the series bundle.
OK, about Prince of Fate... I liked Cain. He is a good complex character. Brenna is a good character, too. The story was just less than I wanted. We never really found out why the bad guy was after Brenna. It just seems that his reasons were not fully explained and there was much more behind it. I did like watching both of them develop, and Bee was a great character that I would have liked to see more of. All in all, you need this story to get you to the final one, but the dragon and tiger stories were more satisfying for me, along with the Bear Claw Security stories. It was not a bad story, but I felt it needed more.

Cain Hunt has made few visits to Pride Island over the years. He has made a name for himself with his dangerous motorcycle stunts and his painful childhood memories of his home have kept him away. Now he has returned to claim his mate. The Oracle has given him a gift by matching him with his childhood friend, Brenna. Now he just has to convince her that they are meant for each other. If he can't, his family will lose the monarchy and his brother will not continue to rule. But Cain doesn't really care about that, he just wants Brenna to be his. He finds that she and her grandmother need his protection from a man that wants Brenna as payment for a loan. He will fight anyone who threatens her, even himself.

Is Cain some kinda stupid? Did he get hit on the head one too many times pursuing his extreme sports? What's so hard to understand that any sane woman would not want her husband risking his life? Fated mate or otherwise.
It's sweet though, that these fated mates were such close childhood friends. I like it that despite being fated mates, there is not an immediate acceptance of the situation. At the same time, I have to admit, I felt that this book too closely followed the formula set in the 1st book in the series.

Ehh
Didn't like Cain much, anyone who claims to have loved only you yet has been promiscuous is not worthy of you and his love is worthless. Therefore I found no respect for him. Other than that it was an okay story. Wish she had been living and not waiting pathetic for him. She also barely made him work for her, gave in way too easily, when he basically left her and didn't come back till made to.

Electrifying and breathtaking

Cain is a a daredevil and has been since his father died. It is his way of dealing when he is stressed and having nightmares. Brenna is chosen as his mate by the oracle. She doesn't like his risk taking. She is also in danger. Nothing worth having is easy.

Destiny gets it right - lion shifter
Kindle Unlimited standalone shifter read. They where friends but he left. When he returns and says she must mate him, she cannot believe it. Can hurt be healed so they can be together? Good story!!

Enjoyed this more than book 1.
Really enjoyed Brenna and Cain's story. Loved that Brenna was her own woman but did feel for Cain with his trauma.

This was a quick, fast paced, sweet, sexy, and a dash of action thrown in type of read. I liked both the characters and the struggles they faced to each their HEA.

I love reading this these stories.

He finds his mate gets rid of his fears
He was told who his mate is and he happy with her but is she happy with him, not right now, and he needs to face his fear that has him unsure if he can over come it. Real good story

Cain and Brenna has been childhood friends, she’d had a crush on the middle prince and as he grew and embraced a life full of danger and risks she’d kept track of his famous dangerous life away from the island. When he showed up on her doorstep calmly declaring that she was his fated mate picked out by the Oracle She pretty much laughed in his face and said no thanks.
Being back on the island wasn’t a comfortable place for Cain. He knew that the day would come when his mate would be picked for him, and he was delighted that it turned out to be Brenna… someone he knew and already had affection for. And while he expected a sort of courtship to win her hand, for he would never force any woman to mate him, Cain didn’t expect her to be so adamantly apposed to what he did. How was he supposed to give up the very thing that kept him sane? His need to face fear and defeat it over and over stemmed from the events surrounding his father’s death when he was a young lad of fourteen. He could never allow fear to overtake him again, and he worked on getting Brenna to understand that… without much success. She needed him to face the basic reason for his addiction to dangerous stunts, until he did she wanted no part of a life where she could lose the man she loved at any moment.
Toss two stubborn people together, both who felt they were right. Add a stalker to the mix, one who will do anything to claim Brenna as his own and you have a very emotionally powerful story.
I enjoyed Prince of Fate very much. Cain and Brenna were certainly a strong and sexy couple. When fear takes over a life, even the determination to defeat the first sign of feeling fear – it will never be enough, the risks will get higher until there is no doubt about the outcome. Cain had to face what brought him to this place, acknowledge that he’d been just a kid and the outcome was not his fault. Until he did that his past would always stand in the way of his future… and in the way of a loving, full life with the woman he loved.
If you love Shifter Romance, then Prince of Fate is an action packed, certainly sexy times story that should be on your reading radar.

This is a fantastic addition to this series, Cain is definitely my favorite so far! Cain is a sexy, dangerous, alpha lion shifter and the middle brother of the ruling royal family on Pride Island. He is known on the mainland for his dangerous stunts and races on his motorcycle and is famous for them. He is chosen next by the oracle to be given the name of his fated mate, who he has to convince to take him on as a mate or his family can no longer rule their people. Brenna was Cain's childhood friend that he left behind, after his father was killed, without a word, now he's back and he wants her for his mate? Nope, she doesn't think so, he broke her heart once and she won't allow herself down that path again. Brenna is being harassed by a sleezy older man, Barker, who wants to take her as his mate because he think she owes him since he paid off all her deceased grandfathers debt. Barker's harassment is getting more threatening and Brenna is in more danger then ever. While Brenna tells herself she doesn't want Cain around, she feels safe and attracted to him and she agrees to start over as friends and to see where that takes them. Cain had a lot more hidden depth then I gave him credit for in the first book and it was great to read about. I loved that Brenna didn't just let him do what he wanted and made him fight for it, they both had some healing to do and they fought and healed together. I can't wait for Axel's book, I think that was is going to be even more of a blast to read!

You don;t have to read the series in order but it is a good series so you should check out his brother's story in King of Rock.
