Michael Lancashire's first serious writing was episodes of The A-Team. Sadly they were not picked up by NBC for some reason, probably a combination of the lack of an agent and the fact that he was 7 and they were written in crayon. Since then he has written for pleasure whenever jobs and family life permit.

He lives in the Midlands with his wife, three kids and an ever changing assortment of chickens, mammals and reptiles.

Michael Lancashire did it again, proving he can continue to develop fun, complex, smart novels populated by resourceful people who live (or die) and prosper by applying their creative intelligence to manipulate actions and other people.

While prior storylines in the Architect series focused more on Seth (the Architect), The Fourth Target introduced two new major characters, Caitlin and Emma. The author used these two strong, smart women effectively, challenging and growing Seth’s revealed personality throughout the arc of the story. I expect to see more interaction and resulting tension between them in future books.

Being a technical and process person myself, I especially appreciated the base concept of Seth’s development of detailed workplans for his personal or clients’ use. The detailed planning will resonate with many consultants and project managers – except (hopefully) for the types of clients.
I look forward to the next book in the Architect series, especially to see whether or not all of Seth’s plans continue to be successful. Most complex plans aren’t.

I was provided a free copy of this book by the author. My comments were not influenced by that act.

I had never read any of the architect books prior to this one and did not realize there were others. That being said, other than a little history on who he is missing, I was able to figure out who or rather what he is. I loved that women took the primary lead roles. Other than a few grammatical errors (pet peeve for me) this was very well written with just enough character story to get to know them and seamless jumps from one to the other. I can definitely see myself getting the rest of the architect books to read in the future.

This is the 2nd Architect book I've read, and I would gladly read another. The whole concept of this mastermind behind covert operations is exciting and fun. It moves these ahead of typical spy thrillers. Good fun, good read, great characters. What more could I ask.
