Chasing Faete

Rate this book
Erica’s been on the run from her parents’ murderer for years, but her luck has finally run out. She finds herself caught by the man who tortured her for years, but she’s prepared to fight him rather than go back to the Fae King. She almost thinks she’s hallucinating when two wolf shifters appear out of nowhere to save her—but that could be the blood loss talking.

Leo and Ben are thrilled to stumble onto the scent of their mate as they were on a routine patrol. They follow their noses and barely find her in time, wounded and battling with a group of armed Fae. Life is about to get a whole lot more complicated when it comes to mating their little pixie.

Erica can’t deny the bond she feels with her wolves, but will the need to avenge her family and change the fate of the Fae realm cost her the loves she’s waited so long to find?

This is an amazing new series from three Evernight Authors.

I have read all of the books written by Elena and Maia. I have been a huge fan of the two from their first books. Now that I have read this book, Sarah's books are now on my TBR. I will now call them Evernight's 3 Musketeers.

Shifter of every kind come together to help Lean and Ben save Erica, their Fae, from the false king and help her claim the throne that is truly hers.

This story is packed full of love, passion and action. I love how the authors have set up for more installments. I actually find myself looking forward to their releases.

I thought this was a remarkable book, simply for the fact that three people wrote it, each taking one of the three characters and writing from that character's point of view. I must admit that I did try to figure out if I could tell which author wrote which character, and am actually rather surprised that I can't. The book fits together as though there was only one writer. Since I've read the authors singularly before, it doesn't surprise me that things were well-plotted, nicely paced, and that the sex scenes were really hot. All three of the characters were strong, take charge individuals, and I liked that Erica didn't sit around and let her men protect and take care of her. She was kick butt and went out to protect them instead. The overarching storyline was interesting, with my only complaint being that the story was too short, so some things weren't as developed as I would have liked. In all, a really yummy read for those who love menage mixed with the paranormal.

What an amazing read!!! The instant trust love and mating between Leo, Erica and Ben is so very well written. I read through this book very quickly because the action and intrigue to guess what happens next was to hard to resist. Just when things seem to be going the right way for the three lovers a new obstical is placed in their way to overcome. Reunions, messengers, and betrayal. How will it all end. Who is destined to kill the self claimed king? Will Erica and her mates get there HEA or will fare throw them a twist?

(review request submitted by Sarah Marsh for an honest critique)

Amazon has this book listed as erotic and the site couldn’t get it any truer. These three (two wolf shifters and a Fae woman) started having sex within 24 hours of meeting each other.

~~ Need help relaxing? Answer: sex. Yup, the BIG O is better than a Valium.
~~ Awake and feeling hungry? Of course, sex should be on the menu. Right?
~~ Feeling blue? Let me cheer you up with my schlong.
~~ Victory sex. Not a question. 100% statement!

Now with all the nakedness happening, I would change one thing within the scenes. In chapter 7, I would’ve changed this phrasing, “pussy leaked”. For me, that was a 100% not attractive usage of words. Cockheads should “leak”, not vaginas.

As for the plot, there is a battle of epic proportions. Wolves, bears, cougars and some pissed off Faes.
Speaking of Faes, I’d love to have Erica’s power of healing. As a parent, that ability could come in real handy.

Oh and speaking of cougar-shifters, I have one word to describe Braxas —–> Meeeeoooowwww!

Erica has escaped her capture but has reached a dead end at exactly the wrong moment. Leo and Ben have found a Fae fighting with skill but seriously outnumbered. Will they be able to even the odds and save their future?
In Chasing Faete a new series by Maia Dylan, Sarah Marsh and Elena Kincaid, shifters and fae must form an alliance to protect their collective futures. I enjoyed Leo and Ben. They were just alpha enough for Erica. And in Erica they have found the mate they were not actively looking for. And both males were willing to do whatever was necessary to protect her. While I liked Erica, she gave me a few issues. I enjoyed that she was a kickass female. My problem with her is she never seemed to fully trust her mates. Even by tales end she didn’t seem to learn that lesson. But overall, I enjoyed this new world Ms. Marsh, Ms. Dylan and Ms. Kincaid created. This story is a nice quick read full of action. I am looking forward to where they will take us next in this journey.

Being introduced to new authors is a treat especially when the books are very entertaining. I enjoyed this para-shifter new series
I really enjoyed the mixture of characters, shifters all coming to the rescue, Fae good and bad.
It captured my attention right from the beginning, that violent touch to survive, help finding you, mates, fighting for what's yours, all the things a good book needs. My only gripe is it's a cliff hanger aaaahhhh frustrating but having said that it makes you want to go and get the next one just to see what happens.
Well worth reading, very enjoyable.

What an incredible story by three very talented authors. This collaboration is an amazing story of shifters, fae folk and of course...bad guys!

Love abounds and appears to come in threesomes!

Superb story of a fairy/fae princess taking back what is rightfully hers with help from her mates' pack as well as a few other unusual folk. I love Erica and her two mates. They all want to protect each other but know there is danger along the way. Fighting for right is not always easy.

Now, shush, I'm off to read book 2!!

Chasing Faete is the first book in the Beyond the Veil series, written seamlessly by three authors. We meet Erica after she has escaped her home realm, after being imprisoned by the False King for years. She has also been tortured by his Captain, and so looks forward to her revenge. She is saved from an outnumbered fight by two wolves, and they all find out that they are mated. However, they don't get their HEA straight away as Erica has obligations to her kingdom.

We meet three different shifter groups, plus the Elven characters. Each group is incredibly well written, with their characteristics well described. I have no idea which author wrote which bit, but this is all to the good. It really is seamless, going from one scene to the next, from one character to the next smoothly. As the first novella in a new series, this book has a lot of work to do to give the reader an idea of the world in which it belongs, but Chasing Faete does an amazing job of this. Not only that, but it leads nicely onto the next book, definitely leaving you wanting more. Recommended by me.

Erica promised herself that if she ever made it out of the Elven real she would rather die before she would allow herself to be returned. So, being cornered in the alley with a stab wound in her side, surrounded by the royal guards with about 10% chance for an escape, you can understand why she was quickly loosing hope to survive. That is, until two werewolf brothers - Leo and Ben - burst from a nearby bar to come to her aid. And to add to the surprise, they appear to be her mates.

The idea for the story was quit good, but the writing was lacking. I wanted less sex scenes there, because, honestly, they bore me. And maybe some more simple interaction between Erica and her mates. I'm not a fan of an insta love, I much more prefer to see the relationship build.
So, while the story might be interesting to some, it was not for me.

This a good book with perfect mix of supernatural theme, good actions, and lustful romance. Though the novel is short, the story is well developed; relationship blooms, comrades paved, war filled with actions (though it's really small fraction), and interesting side story thrown into chaos while the main one still on course. The whole package story even shift my focus a bit from the fact that this is menage book. It falls effortlessly and naturally for the 3 characters to fall in love. Nothing awkward nor weird. The smexy scenes even hotter with the 3 package deal !!
