As a witch, Calvin Blackwood knows the dangers of demons, but to save his brother, he's willing to enter into a deal with demon duke, Sal, and give him anything the demon wants in return, including himself.

A month ago, Calvin Blackwood found himself in the company of vampires, having been hired to use his talent as a witch to summon a demon. That demon ended up saving his life. In the time since, he hasn't been able to forget about Sal. He knows entering a deal with a demon is dangerous, but to save his brother, binding himself to the beautiful demon might be worth the risk.

Sal is a duke among demons. An immortal being, more powerful than a vampire, but who has one admitted weakness, a fondness for humans. When Calvin comes to him to make a deal, he's hesitant, but can't deny his need to be closer to him. He also knows if he doesn't help him, Calvin will summon another demon, and he knows all too well the treachery of his own kind.

Desire and trust builds between Calvin and Sal. Their relationship grows, but so does a hidden threat, and it might take power greater than a demon duke to save them. It might take that of a witch.

Cardinal rule when reading this series: You cannot take it seriously.

This book is fun and sexy and just plain silly. If you want scary vampires and hellish demons, look elsewhere.

Sal is a demon with a sassy attitude who prefers to spend time in the human realm. If you read book 1 (which you really should before reading this one), you have already met Sal and his sidekick, a crocodile named Beezle. Sal's best friends are two vampire cousins, Basil and Valentin, and Valentin's partner Sebastian.

Calvin is the witch who summoned Sal in the last book, and then saved him by breaking the circle of salt. Calvin and Sal can't stop thinking about each other and quickly fall into lust upon meeting again. Mind you, it's just LUST. Sal, as he tells himself and others repeatedly, doesn't do pesky emotions or any of that mushy crap.

Calvin asks Sal to heal his brother Nathan, who is on dialysis, but Nathan is a priest (though not an ordained one) and doesn't trust demons. He waves around holy water and stuff, which isn't very welcoming.

Calvin loves Sal's demon form, so some of the sex scenes are human/demon, horns and all. If that doesn't float your boat, stay away. I thought it was awesome.

Honestly, the plot was a bit of a hot mess, what with a power-hungry, evil demon, Sal's ex-demon-boyfriend smirking all over the place, and Sal pushing Calvin away. The banter during the action scene at the end was too much. Call me crazy, but I'm not really into joking when someone is dying. Nathan was also forgiven too easily for trying to kill Sal. That's just not nice.

The ending is a forever kind of HEA, and there are two potential couples on the ready if the author continues this series (and I hope she does). I'm rounding down to 3 stars because there were quite a few editing issues, which is a real shame considering this isn't even a self-published book.

Demon Duke was the sequel to Vampire Prince; I read the first edition a couple of years ago and had wanted to read more about Sal and his witchy poo (cute endearment!!). I was happy when I saw this book finally being available.

Calvin (the witchy poo) is in need of help of 'miracle' to cure his older brother, Nathan. So he decides to make a deal with Sal, since Sal promises that he can do that. Of course, it isn't really simple because Nathan is not exactly in favor of demons ^^

Sometimes, all I want is to read something easy, fun, and light on angst factor. Demon Duke definitely fell into that category. Also, it was able to elevate my reading mood -- I laughed several times over, thanks to the antics of these characters. The part where Nathan practically cock-blocked his brother, and threw holy water to Sal example *I'm still grinning!*.

See, I felt like I got some blah reads over the past few days, so I was really entertained with this one. Yes, it was predictable, and it got rather mushy, but books that could make me laugh got my stamp of approval.

While it was light, there was still a big action near the end when Sal's life was being threaten by another demon. But Calvin showed everyone that he was a bad-ass witch, and everything went happily ever after for our demon and his witchy poo.

Now I wonder who will be next in the road to forever love. With new characters being introduced (Nathan and the demon prince, Sy) as well as old faces (Basil and Malcolm), my mind is making possibilities: Nathan and Basil? Nathan and Malcolm? Basil and Sy? Well, hopefully it will be another fun ride.

This sequel has been a LONG time coming, and it was so worth the wait! I'm so very happy that SJ Frost was able to get her rights back to this series and bring us a new book. I was very intrigued by Sal in Vampire Prince, and I just loved him with Witchie Poo, AKA Calvin. They had great chemistry, some fun moments, some sexy ones, a bit of drama, and a HEA! EEEE I just loved them together!

I definitely encourage people to read the first book in the series, I think it will make more sense reading this one. I went back and re-read the first one since it had been 2 years since I read it. I enjoyed it just as much, and people who are a fan of this author will too. I love how she writes vampires, both in this series and in her Instincts series.

I'm definitely interested in who's next - Calvin's brother? Basil? I want them both!

At first, It was not clear to me how Cal acquired his power aside from having studied the craft. If my memory serves me right, there was no mention of some sort of history about being a witch and stuff. Was it inherent? This didn’t hinder my liking for his character tho. And of course, there’s the lovely, wonderful Sal! I loved him in the first book and I loved him even more here!

I also loved that we get to see more of ‘Bastian and Valentin, and Basil! I really wanted something for Sal’s right hand minion – he’s just the sweetest and most adorable ever!!!!! The story was a bit predictable but in a good way! ‘Will definitely be reading the next one!

“I have no idea if this is to be a series, but oh pretty please may Sal get his own book? I will be the first in line to read about the snarky, powerful, redheaded demon.”

This is quote from my 2014 review of Vampire Prince, the first book in the Paranormal Nobles series. Even as a secondary character, I enjoyed Sal so much I wanted more from him, so I was delighted to finally see this second book in the series (not that I actually think I had anything to do with it, but exciting nonetheless). Sal is just a great blend of snarky, sexy, and fun and I enjoyed him so much that I was really excited to revisit him here (along with the rest of the gang). This book picks up about a month after the first, and though most of the relationship stands alone, it does reference events from the first book as both Sal and Calvin appear there, along with featuring other characters from the first story.

So I really enjoyed this one a lot. Sal is still sexy and snarky and entertaining. Calvin is strong and feisty and doesn’t take any crap from his demon. I noticed the same thing in Vampire Prince with Sebastian, and I love that Frost has made these human partners for our paranormal nobles to be strong, confident, and tough in their own right, and not just weak humans relying on their supernatural lovers for everything. Although Calvin is in the more vulnerable position having to ask a favor of Sal and promising his body in return, it is clear that he wants Sal completely so this is no hardship. The two are well matched, super sexy, and a lot of fun together.

One thing about this author is, you always know going in, what you're going to get. Whether it's rock stars (or country!), or vampires and demons, you're going to get lots of sweetness, a fair bit of sap, and a group of people (the term "people" being relative in this series) that accept new people into their family with open arms.

These are sappy fluffy vampires and demons who can still kick ass if need be. I honestly wish that there was a bit more action and a bit less sex, but as I said at the start, with this author, I did know what I was getting into. All in all, I did enjoy this, I loved Sal and Calvin, as well as seeing Bastian, Valentin, Basil again. I'm looking forward to reading Basil and Sy's story next, and what looks to be Malcolm and Nathan sometime in the future.

I do one rather large complaint, and that's the editing. At first, I thought that this was self published, but then I realized that, no, it's an MLR press pubbed book, already making it WILDLY expensive for the length, and so I really expected better editing. I don't expect to pay 6.99 for 235 pages, and then see such silly issues as repeated misuse of conscience/conscious, too/to/two, and a couple of just wrong words. Shame on you, MLR, for putting something like this out there, charging so much, and leaving in such glaring errors!

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

This sequel was a long time coming – I almost went back to re-read the first book but in the end I was too impatient to get on with this one but it all worked out fine.

Calvin, otherwise known as witchy poo, is a novice witch still very much learning his craft. His brother Nathan, an almost priest, is dying and Calvin is willing to do anything to save him. Even calling up a Demon and exchanging favours isn’t off the table and as a last resort that is exactly what he does.

Sal is probably the least dangerous of the demons that Calvin could have called but he is not without his own brand of sneakiness – he is a demon after all! As luck will have it Sal has been thinking a lot about Calvin (they met in book 1) but without knowing where he was he had no way of contacting him. Sal has a thing for humans and Calvin presses all his buttons. Saving Nathan is not a difficult task for Sal and if it means he gets Calvin for a while then he is more than willing.

Nathan wanting to be saved by a demon however is not going to prove an easy task and Sal getting his witch maybe more difficult than he first thought. Between vampires, holy water and a demon ex things don’t goes as planned and Calvin ends up stuck in the middle of it all.

This was an easy read – the words just flowed. There is scope for more with new characters being introduced as well as getting to spend more time with Malcolm and Basil. The only thing left to mention is that cover – utterly delicious and just how I see Sal in all his demon glory!

Demons and paranormal mm romance is my favorite genre. I had high hopes when I was reading the description of this book. I read this book as a stand alone and had no previous knowledge of what happened in the last book.

Generally, I liked the author's set up for magic, demon and rituals for summoning. However, I felt disappointed when it came to the characters of the two main characters. I always feel that the portrayal of demons should be different from human. It means that demons, even though having the possibility of possessing human appearance, do not value the same moral value or act morally good. However, in this book, Sal the demon was too good and too nice. He was even more honorable than his human counterparts.

To me, this book feels like your typical crush to lover book but wearing a demon skin. There's nothing too exciting or unique about this book.

Another thing in this book was the naivety. The major conflict between the two main characters was whether they could be together forever because human and demon have a different life span. I felt that the author was trying to portray a big argument regarding different life span issue but it was nothing. The demon knows how to make a human immortal. This conflict was just a small ripple after all.

The moral conflict of this book was also too easy to be solved. Two human brothers with different religious beliefs, one believes in christianity and the other believes in witchcraft. It felt incoherent when one brother has been stubborn for the entire book but changed his mind without any difficulties in the end.

If you want a mindless read, I recommend you this book because it's like still water, no heavy emotions.

Nice, easy, quick read with funny banter. Anyone that liked the first would probably enjoy this one. The same goes for those who didn't like the first; they will probably not like this one. It is sweet and syrupy, but does not try to be otherwise.

It was interesting to learn more about the demon world, and thus more about Sal too. The evolution of the brothers relationship was well developed. At times, I couldn't help feeling really bad for Nathan and how hard it would be for him to rectify it all with his beliefs.

There are some editing /proofing issues, but they didn't really disrupt the flow of throw me out of the story. It might be problematic for those sensitive to those types of things.

Like in the first book the progression of the relationship may be a little quick, but it's not that unusual or hard to believe with the paranormal setting. It is all tied up nicely into a HEA, and I look forward to reading Basil's story next.

I live the world building. I love the demon world with the orgys etc. it's adorable.

The banter between the housemates is adorable.

The author is doing a fabulous job of describing Sal's sexiness. I can picture him completely and yummy! And I adore the character.

Imagine Dragons' Demons is one of my favorite songs too. I think of it a lot when I'm reading some angsty M/M romance and vice versa.

Too much sex.

I don't like that Calvin had to ask Sal to tell him he loved him.

Calvin Blackwood is a healing witch, still learning his craft. Sadly, Calvin’s magical powers are not strong enough to heal his ailing brother, but Calvin can summon Sal, a demon duke who has a fondness for humans, especially Calvin.

Demon Duke is the second book in the Paranormal Nobles series. The well-written plot is a combination of compassion, a touch of drama and characters that are believable, as well as incredibly hilarious.

Having loss their parents to ill health, Calvin’s older brother Nathan is the only family Calvin has left. Calvin and Nathan are very close and do whatever they can to help each other even though their beliefs are extremely different.

Calvin knows if he summons a demon, he will be expected to compensate the demon with sexual favors. That being said, Calvin also knows that summoning Sal for help will be a price he is more than willing to pay since he is already attracted to the sexy demon.
Sal is an unusual demon in that he forms emotional relationships; Sal enjoys socializing with humans and vampires. Vampire prince Valentin and his cousin Basil are Sal’s best friends. Sal secretly loves Calvin though Sal refuses to admit it. The only relatable demon traits Sal has is his enormous sexual appetite, his battle abilities along with his superior magical powers.

S.J. Frost has created an outstanding saga. The interactions between the characters is truly entertaining, I think Sal is my favorite character because he is a clever, boastful, sweet talking, badass. Although Calvin is a badass when necessary, he’s normally a little more reserved than Sal.

I was so excited to see this book released. I mean seriously. I loved the first book Vampire Prince and was desperately hoping Sal and Calvin would get their own story. I was not disappointed. Witchy Poo Calvin was more than a match for my favorite demon Sal and he fit in so well with the rest of the gang too. The humorous and affectionate bantering with Basil, Valentin and Sebastian just added to my enjoyment. And Beezle. I really love these guys. We were also introduced to some great new characters from the demon realm: sweet little Elek; borderline bastard but yet clearly redeemable Prince Sytri (Basil is going to have his hands full with this one); and asshole villain Amon. Even Malcolm (Valentin's ex) made a brief appearance again and it should be interesting to see if he and Nathan (Calvin's brother) can get together. So I see at least 2 more books in the future, possibly 3 if we can find Elek someone nice too. I will accept nothing less. :)

I liked this more than the previous book with more depth to the characters and more plot. Love the characters and their interaction as a tight knit group.

I wasn't expecting the climax of the story where

Now, I just can't wait to see the next couple!
