Rate this book
Book three in a hilarious new series featuring one boy and a little dragon with an oversized appetite for adventure. Pan is missing his parents in China and is delighted when Eric helps him to speak to them over the internet. But his joy turns to despair when his parents announce that they are sending his aunt and uncle to bring him home. Travelling through the sewer system, Pan's relatives show up in Eric's house via his toilet ...and they're not going back without him! Perfect for fans of Jeremy Strong and Compton Valance.

Tom Nicoll is an award-winning writer of funny books for children, including the There's a Dragon in my... series and Boyband of the Apocalypse, which won the Stockton Children's Book of the Year 2019. He is also an avid, though arguably not-very-good, gamer and has written a video-game based series for younger readers called Level Up!

Tom started writing when he was at school, but forgot to stop when he left. It's now gotten quite out of hand with ten books having been published with his name plastered all over them.

He lives just outside Edinburgh with his wife and two daughters. When he's not writing, reading or playing videogames badly he enjoys imagining he should have other interests.

Reviewed for YA Books Central

This book is a winner the moment a reader lays eyes on that cover--and the title. My niece--who is picky about her books saw this one and asked if we could read it together. So, we did.
There's a little dragon who is missing his parents and his human who wants to help him.
Hilarity ensures just as I'd expect from a book titled There's a Dragon in my Toilet. They need to convince his aunt and uncle he's well taken care of by his human. It's up to Eric to convince others Pan can stay--which causes problems as you'd imagine.

This is the cutest book I've read with my niece in quite a while. It doesn't try to be anything it's not and that's probably the best thing about it. This book knows it's ridiculous and it plays into that perfectly to be funny. It knows readers have to suspend their disbelief to get into this, but after the first couple chapters, no one would have an issue with that.

Final Verdict:
A ridiculous story that is fun and hilarious. Every kid will love this.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I was a bit bemused by the title. If you had to list the places where you would least expect to find a fire-breathing entity such as a mini-dragon, then a toilet must be pretty high on the list. But then Pan is anything but predictable. It turns out though that Pan is NOT the dragon in the toilet – rather it is his Mexican uncle and aunt who have come to take him back to Mexico to be with dragon-kind. Pan, of course, does not want to go and it is up to Eric, Jayden and Min to help him convince his parents (via the secret mini-dragon communication method of the internet) to let him stay. Things do not go smoothly (no surprises there). Toby ends up with not one but two mini-dragons, and cannot get rid of them fast enough. A case of be careful what you wish for. Posy comes to the rescue, and Pan is able to finally show his parents that he is well looked after by Eric.
As usual the book is hilarious and heart-warming, with wonderfully expressive illustrations. Check out Pusskin attempting to swallow Uncle Fernando! I can barely wait for the next instalment.

This is the second book that I have read in this series (almost finished a third) and they are good, solid, fun reads. I like the characters and I love how they interact together and the trouble that they get up too. Even though he's a bit naughty at times, I'd love my own Pan!
