The Family #2

I'm Nothing

Rate this book
There is an uprising within The Family. They do not like young men taking over, and it’s up to Tonio, Donnie, Luiz, and Jake to take out the problems. But Tonio can’t pay proper attention to his new duties because his memories haunt him. He grew up in The Family with a secret he hasn’t even told his friends. His father would beat and torture him if he didn’t go down to the basement, and what Tonio had to do there turned him into a monster.

Zara is trapped. Her father died and left her with a debt she can’t pay, and she hates her life. When Tonio saves her from being raped and killed, Zara knows she has to help him. No matter how hard he tries, Tonio can’t keep the infuriating little virgin from getting under his skin—but he won’t give in to his feelings for her. Tonio thought he loved a woman once, but it turned out to be a lie, and he’ll never trust himself again.

However, what will happen when he does fall for her? Will Zara stay with the man who saved her, or will she run when she sees the monster lurking within?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD
THIS BOOK IS WAY OUTSIDE MY COMFORT ZONE READ OF THE MONTH.

I am proud of myself for reading and finishing this book.
It has been haunting me for the last few weeks.
This is one very intense read and when I say: the "hero is a rapist", I mean he is forced to rape and kill. It was so tragic that I cried in the first chapter like a baby. If you can get beyond the first chapter then it gets better after that. It's not a dark as I first thought it was going to be.
This is the hero story of acceptance and survival. Moving beyond the nightmares that have plagued his life for so long. The fact that he kills his father makes me feel so much better but it was too quick a death he should have been killed slowly and raped often.
Honestly, I have no idea how I can even write this review as these are things I avoid in book.
I am not giving the story away more than this and this is what happens in the first two chapters.
He is a manwhore in that he had no choice but to be and even his first time was forced on him. He does have sex with other women but I don't think it's that often and we never hear of it at all. This is not an open smut fest either there is only a few sex scenes and they are well done for the most part.
The heroine is fun and surprisingly sweet. She is the right kind of weird for him. She knows what he does and is not stupid. The mafia thing was not news to her she knew him in high school. They are a great couple together and it worked their crazy.

Please note that I would not recommend reading this book if killing and second hand accounts of rape bothers you.
4.5 stars.

Happy reading.

Such a lovely.. dark book.
Tonio has a really, really dark past and he's trying to escape his demons. When a tragedy shakes his life, he meets Zara, broken by circumstances and soon they turn out to be each other's redemption.
This average length book captivated me from start to end. From really dark characters who find their light, to really evil people I wanted to bslap.
I wish there was a longer epilogue- and I'm sure wel read about it in Luiz's book.
Safe read

Another awesomeness by Sam. Loved this book so much. It broke my heart and then healed it. I felt so much empathy for Tonio. The life he had growing up... Not only to be told that he's nothing but a trash but also father trying to break him... I can't even. Tonio deserved happiness. Glad he stuck gold with Zara. She's a perfect girl for him. She took him with his past demons and present lifestyle and all. She saw him. Zara saw what a gift truly he is. And being a smart girl, she grabbed him with both hands never letting go.

This was a gold story. I so can't wait for the next one, especially after that bomb dropped at the end. I didn't saw that coming.

This book is sad and dark. Poor hero he suffered so much, he was abused by his father and he did some horrible things. He is tortured and alpha. He is filled with pain and regrets but Zara's love heals all his wounds! She is a great heroine, warm and loving and caring. Great chemistry and steamy scenes!

Desperate and brutal past.
Full of hatred and sadness.
Seems so dark and gloomy.
The feeling of there are no future and there will be no forgiveness.
The feeling of *I'm Nothing* was so thick so desperate so sad.
Hesitant of having a little piece of hope and happiness.

Oh I m soooo madly in love with Tonio and Zara over and over again through this book. Absolutely fantastic! Finger lickin' good kind of story! Wonderful!
I was feeling sad for Tonio and Zara. For their past. But I also in love with their togetherness.
Everything start by simple act, simple concern but ended with huge happiness. Even when the happiness covered with bloodbath.
I love Zara's fun character. She was so easygoing. Somehow harsh with her words but it always ended with something witty and something funny.
Zara's bright personality really brightened Tonio's sad and gloomy one. Perfect!
The plot itself was smooth. Sweet and simple with, yes, both expected and unexpected turn but I guarantee you'll fall hard for Zara and Tonio. They are adorable. Especially I love when Zara teasing Tonio. She's cute as hell!
“What is it?” she asked.
“Have a look.”
She took the file from him, chewing on some pancake and syrup, flicking the file open. “College?”
“I want you to have everything that was taken from you.”
“Tonio?”
“No, I don’t want you to make excuses. This is your life as much as it’s mine.”
“This is over six hours away?”
“There’s an online college that is just as good. No travel, and you work from home.”
“Really?”
He handed her another college. “You can do whatever you want.”
“I can’t exactly get married to you being six hours away. What if I need sex? A husband has duties you know?”
Tonio laughed.

How crazy is that??? Lol... I love them to the M-A-X!!

I don't think there is a book by Sam Crescent that I don't end up liking. I've read lots of books by Sam and I just love it how she can pack lots of emotion, action and romance in a not too long, but not too short novella. I love mafia romance and of course this book was right up my alley, but I admit that at times the characters seemed a little bit childish and with no depth, but then I realized that the characters are young and damaged and adrift, so yeah, the dialogue and what seemed like immaturity added up.
Loved the hero and the heroine so much and yeah you'll find the book a bit dark in a way but remember this is only a work of fiction so don't be to fired up by it.
Anyways I ended up loving the frack out of this book and I cannot wait for Luiz's story I mean the Epilogue left me wanting Luiz's story soooooo effing bad!!!!!!!!!

It totally messes up the book when authors don't care enough to ensure that they consistently use the same information throughout their linked books. Like in this series in the Book 2 of The Family Crescent forgot how old his own characters are!!! You can't just change the age of the characters after then have already been established.
- In My Stepbrother's Debt Paige moves into Donnie father's house 3 weeks before her 17th birthday. And states "He was older then she was by two years and would be leaving this year."
- It is said that Donnie, Jake, Tonio and Luiz are all in the same grade and it is their senior year of High school. (I believe it even said the same age somewhere in there)
- It is repeated several times in Chapters 1 to 3 that none of the 4 friends, have sex or date underage females.
Donnie weds Paige in Chapter 5, 1 month after her 18th birthday when he is 21; when their engagement was announced at her birthday party.
Donnie's age is established in Chapter 4. With it starting just before Paige's 18th birthday. In the opening scene Donnie is In the garden at his father's house when Luis comes up beside him. During their conversation Donnie "says I'm twenty-one years old, and I can have any fucking woman I want."

SO can someone PLEASE explain to me HOW in I'm Nothing Book 2 of The Family, which picks up where Book 1 left off, Tonio is 19 years old.
I really hate sloppy work like that.
Crescent please take notes to keep your storyline and timeline consistent!!

I enjoyed the story the low ratting is simply for the poor attention to detail that makes the read question the timeline to make the events run together properly to truly enjoy the series.

I felt so bad for Tonio... he had a hard rough life abused by his father made to things he didn't wanna do kill, rape, be sexual assaulted my heart went out for him.. plus the girl he thought he loved didn't love him and killed herself.. He meets a old high school classmate Zara when she's visiting the cemetery they have some chemistry Tonio doesnt do anything but enjoy her company.

Zara has some problems of her own since her father passed he left her a "debt" and she can't pay it and she's saved by Tonio when the loanshark tries to rape her. To protect her he moves her in with him their relationship is slowish burn.. Making sure their enemies know not to fk with them they make a statement..

Zara and Tonio were made for one another.. i love them alot!! This was wayy better then book one honestly..

Angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating,  secondary chara, steamy sex, drama

Tonio’s past is eating at him. The abuse that he endured from his father is suffocating him. He needs to find all the evidence of his past and kill it once and for all. And the loss of someone he thought loved him, is heartbreaking. When he bumps into a girl from his past, he sure didn’t expect her to be his future. Zara remembers Tonio. He was the boy that sat behind him in school. She was nothing special. When he happens to save her from an assault, their paths become intertwined. Zara is as Paige was, a shadow in school. No one took notice. But these two are both strong and willing to fight for their men. Tonio has a dark past. I was so sad to read how he was abused. He and his friends fought out of that hell. Now they all can have a fresh start. I do love the ending. It brought a sense of peace for Tonio and Donnie. We now need Luiz to confess and to find someone for Jake.

This is a continuation with Tonio and Zara. The sons have killed their fathers and now it's time for them to change what is happening and making it safer for their families.
Zara and Tonio knew each other in school but really didn't run in the same circles. He would cheat off of her in school and she secretly had a crush on him.
When they are thrown together a friendship starts to develop.
I really hurt for what Tonio had to go through. Enjoyed how Zara was willing to fight to stay by his side. It was very emotional when Tonio was trying to admit his secret to his friends.
I always enjoy Sam's books. You get a quick read that packs a big punch. You can't wait to see what is going to happen next and I can honestly say I haven't been disappointed.

I finished this story. And I understood the charaters. Just why does the heroine have to be a woman who at times seems to be meek? Why not have a backbone. Though by the end she sort of does but still she needs a backbone.

So great!

I love Sam crescent storys, this one was another great one. Tonio was a best friend of Donnie from The Family Book 1. His father was a very evil person and in the first book him and his friends done away with the evil fathers of all them, Tonio past was filled pain and regret, also a past love that died. When he bumped into Zara the girl no body saw and he cheated from tests from when they were in school, he saw a lonely person like him that's father had died, and was trying to run the family pizza business. Secrets was revealed with the way her father died and a very bad loan shark wanting the money that's owe or Zara's virginity. Tonio saves her and moves her in with him and she shows him what love is from the right woman and him and his friends gets the Family in order. Great ending and great story, loved Tonio and Zara, hope storys on the other friends. Would recommend this book to all romances readers!

ARC Received in exchange for an honest review

This book was so sad, and totally broke my heart. I felt so sad for Tonio and what he went through. The way he's father tried to break him emotionally and physically, just made me want to cry. He just needed so much happiness in his life.
And I so agreed with Luiz, that Maria was a BIATCH!!!

Zara was totally made for him, she didn't care about his past or what he did, all she wanted was him and she saw the good in him even when he didn't see it

This series and what these boys went through is so sad, but slowly they are all finding their happily ever after.

Can't wait to read Luiz's story.

Another winner Sam

Tonio and Zara. They fall in love quite quickly and it's really sweet. Yes this story contains violence and Tonio had a truly horrible upbringing, so it's not surprising he has a somewhat duel personality...the killer and the loving family man.

My biggest issue with this story is the inconsistencies that should have been picked up before it was released. The main one is the inconsistency from the first book in the series to the second book. The characters ages. The others are small and don't bother me as much.

This book really draw me in 5 stars and I loved Tonio, he went through hell with his family with being made a weapon of destruction having to do his father's dirty work.
Even living with the horror he had a heart of gold and loved the one girl who was no good for him.
Read to find out if Tonio will be a alpha or let demons darken his soul.
This story was truly perfect and will have your heart jumping a beat at times.
Bring on the next, a must read as I'm not giving anything away :)

When you need a little something dark in your life this is it!

If you have issues with rape, forced seduction, and killing this book is not for you.

I read book 1 in the series first and I am glad I did because I knew some of the back story details. This isn't for the faint of heart, but I was in the mood for a darker story.
