Die Story hat mich echt überrascht. Ich dachte eigentlich, dass mir das hier sicher zu heftig wird, aber es war okay, weil die Charaktere alle sehr unsympathisch sind und mir das ganze daher nicht zu Herzen geht. Daher konnte ich die recht ausgefallene Idee um die Zahnspangen, die dann bei Challenges benutzt werden und den Verlierer zum Sklaven des Gewinners machen, wirklich genießen. Die Gewaltszenen konnte ich mit emotionalem Abstand betrachten und damit war alle okay für ich. Die Handlung war spannend und es fügten sich nach und nach mehrere Handlungsstränge zusammen. Manipulation, Rache und Macht spielen hier eine sehr große Rolle. Die Altersempfehlung ab 18 sollte man beachten. Die Handlung kommt in diesem ersten Band langsam in Fahrt und ich möchte nun unbedingt auch Band 2 lesen, um zu wissen, wie alles weiter verläuft. Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir auch gut. Die Gesichter sind nicht immer meins, aber es passte zur Story. Die Panels waren abwechslungsreich und interessant gestaltet.

This definitely went into the direction of Psychological Horror, it had a bunch of serious and sad topics. The art is okay but nothing outstanding, same for the character design. Still, I really disliked this, and I can't pinpoint why exactly. I didn't find the plot or device they used all that interesting.

Not bad for a concept of slavery, although this volume kinda lacks punch.

I find interesting the concept of a device that enslaves you by exaggerating your guilt towards your master when you fail a challenge, as it feels like a clever exaggeration of real life. While I understand that people might have the desire to possess control in their lives, I have a hard time believing in characters that would be thirsty to achieve that by enslaving others.

It's not as ..ehh.. porn~y as the covers suggest, and is goin for psychological drama rather than straight-up hentai. Interesting set-up, could go places....
