I expected this to be much longer than it was. maybe if there had been more to the story, I would have felt more of a connection between the characters.

O_O

I feel the need to explain myself.

I learned about this book via a search group and thought the person looking for it was very excited. I love books that make people excited so I grabbed it. It's on Kindle Unlimited so I thought "Why not?"

Oh, gosh. Why not? Because this book has all the complexity of a short stick.

It's almost painful to read. I kept expecting some old lady with wings and a wand to show up singing "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo."

NO.

Just. No.

I've had this book on my Kindle for 5 or 6 months and while searching for something sporty and fun to read during an icy and cold weekend, found it buried among the every growing list of TBRs. I can never turn away from a sporty romance, so downloaded and began to read.

The results were disappointing. Predictable sports-related romance with not much substance. Poor editing.

Short and wham bam thank you -- that's all folks!

~The following review is intended as constructive criticism and general advice ~

The storyline would be much better suited for a longer story. Sadly this is the case of many short stories/novellas out there. Short stories and novellas can be excellent ways for an author to showcase their writing skills and attract readers for their full-length (and not free) novels. Unfortunately, so often it seems that free books are equated with poor quality and so the readers shouldn't expect anything of value to be in the text. This story did not make me want to buy anything else from the author, so I would recommend she revisit the material and try to make it into something that will have future readers lunging for the other books in her catalogue.

Also, and this is the reason I'm even leaving a review, because I haven't said it before: Indie authors, please stop with the long titles. If you need your readers to know the content up front, that's what the description is for. If you need your readers to find your book, use tags. I know I'm not the only one who is hesitant about adding books on Goodreads due to the fact that the content is clearly spelled out in the title. With regards to this specific title, it's a complete spoiler. Less is more, authors. Less is more.

Side note: All caps is screaming, and it's very jarring to the eye.

I'm very confused ask was reading this it reminded me of a book I've already read and sure enough!!! I went to amazon to see what book it was and it was Elle snows strike first chapter the same so I downloaded strike again because it was really getting on my nerves after reading everyone's reviews talking about people that I had no clue who they were referring to. So I get to chapter 10 of each book and it's still the same but different names of characters. So I toss my iPad to the side because I have wasted most of my time on this when it's the same book! What is it that I'm missing!?!!??!

Super short super quick read. But a great book. Liam is a typical man whore jock. He left behind the only girl he ever loved for the pros. Maddie is a single Mom of Liams secret daughter. When he comes back to town for his sister's wedding, he comes face to face with his sisters best friend Maddie and he realizes she is his one and only. Then he sees her with her daughter Bridget, and he figures out her secret. At first he is mad but then he figures out she was trying to keep him from passing up his dream at the pros for a relationship and a family.

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Pull Out: A Secret Baby Sports Romance, all about Maddy O'Rilly a bartender & a young mom of a three year old named Bridgett & Liam Mathews her BFF'S older brother who is a hockey player in the NHL. Maddy's BFF is Erica and she left town to pursue her musical career, and now she's back getting married to another music legend this weekend. The girls ran into each other on the street, and it was like yesterday they fell right back into girlfriend mode. It hasn't been that way in over three years, Maddy lost touch with Erica when she became pregnant with her brother's baby! The author wrote an amazing and touching story, and the characters made the story come to life! In addition to this story their are many more stories included with this book that are also addictive to read. Hope you enjoy reading this collection, as much as I enjoyed it.

One question.... does the author know the name of the female main character? Is it Maddie or Jess? way to confuse your readers. Don't waste your time reading. Its awful.

So the first book in this collection - is not bad. It's quick, it's easy, no drama, bam, you're done.

There are a few more included (honestly I didn't even bother to find out how many) and well, I'm not exactly sure why they were included, much less written actually. They are all essentially the same damn thing !! There is maybe a change or two between one story and the other, but believe me, if you're read 2, you've essentially read them all, I know, I made it through 4 for some reason.

Military man, goes to bar, meets girl, has sex with girl, no names are exchanged, next day *gasp* she's the therapist ! He doesn't want to open up and talk, she goes to the man in charge because there is some kind of mystery in the last mission he served, he tells her nothing. Military Man sees and avoids widow of best friend killed in said mission, she comes knocking, hands him a box of friend's things and chews him out. Therapist comes knocking next, they have sex again, he opens up, yay !

The ending in the stories is basically non existent. Do they stay together ? Who knows? Do they go back to active duty ? Who knows !!!! Yeah, I'd seriously skip this, too repetitive and just not enough story.

Eehh

I was a little disappointed by the length and pace of this book. The description sounded so good but it was just so short the it all felt way to rushed. I thought it was going to be much longer and more descriptive. I felt it odd that after him and Erica finding out about the kid that no one seemed to bat a lash.. no one was mad or upset. It was like oh hey okay you kept my kid from me for years but it's fine. Idk. I liked the overall story plot just thought it would have been better had it been longer.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews for books because I know this is the author's livelihood. The editing for this books was horrible if it was even edited at all. The story lacked backbone and just felt completely rushed.

Okay

I only read the first story and it was predictable and a little boring. I prefer a little twist to my books.

Good,but missing something

I enjoyed the storyline, but I felt the stories were missing something. There was a lot of repetition in the first story. Sometimes the actions were unbelievable.

This book needs some work but the premise is pretty good. The beginning is exactly like Strike but with the names changed. It's still a short story that could be made longer and better. Maddie grew up with a crush on her best friend Erica's older brother Liam. They had one night together but Maddie only let it last that long because she didn't want to betray Erica. She winds up pregnant and she didn't want to ruin Liam's life so she kept it a secret. He's back for his sister's wedding and he wants to see Maddie again and then he finds out about his daughter.
