John-Peter - not a ship I ever thought I'd champion (the Sheriff is so 'Stiles's dad' it's hard to see him separately) but if DW is selling, I'm buying! After reading Wolfsbane this is the story we all needed - and it is good. If you've not read Wolfsbane then why haven't you? Read that first.

Moving and sweet-sexy with a little giggle there at the end.

This made me realize that I absolutely adore the idea of these two in theory (because I’m all for team John & Peter especially when it comes to this series ). But in reality?? To have all the down and dirty shown??? Um, not so much. Funnily enough I have no problem when it comes to Chris & Peter. Eh, to each their own.

However, this is DW and of course it’s well written, showing the slow evolution of feels that thankfully don’t get too explicit, since said feelings are just starting to change into that special something. Apparently, this is the one instance where I prefer fade to black. Sacrilege pronouncement I know, but it is what it is.

Ok ok ok, here's what you need to know.

John.

Peter.

John anchoring Peter's human side when his wolf starts lose control.

I love the way time is used. It sets the tone and helps build to each of the intense, tender, meaningful moments between these two men.

Gah.

Peter and John. Peter makes it so John recognizes and reclaims a part of himself long set on the shelf.

Also, that final scene. *snerk*

This gets 5* from me for two reasons: one, it's a lovely little coda to an excellent story and despite it's short length, I appreciate that greatly. Two, it is a rare pair that is handled with delicious sensitivity, and fills me with happiness. So there :)

Sheriff and Peter? Huh? At first it felt a little weird reading John like that. That all changed with what I like to remember as Peter and the Comforter. Who knew the Sheriff would be so good at the dirty talk.

3.5 stars We so needed this after Wolfsbane! Just a nice little look into a deep and beautiful relationship. Hard to get into Sheriff smut sometimes, but this worked and felt really genuine having seen their beginnings in Wolfsbane.
