I've read the first two books in the Damaged series and honestly I was perfectly happy with how book 2 ended for Peter and Sidney. They had found their happy and were starting a life with Mr. Turkey along for the ride. When I saw that there was going to be a wedding book I did get excited because I love to read about weddings, and I wanted to see how Peter and Sidney would finagle a wedding without his overbearing mother taking over.
I have to admit, I felt kind of blindsided with how the story starts, to the point where I went back and reread the last few chapters of Damaged 2 to refresh my memory. I was confused by some of the events that were taking place, and it made me wonder seriously if I should have read the Life Before Damaged series before I started this book, even though the author assured me that I didn't need to.
I got past all of that and started to really get into the story. There's drama and suspense and danger and all kinds of stuff going on that is all a result of Peter's past when he was "a Ferro". Mr. Turkey is right along for the ride, even coming to Sidney's rescue at one point.
Finally, after all the "stuff" that was going on that initially made Peter walk away from Sidney, they can actually get down to thinking about their wedding. But this part of the story, the part the book is named after, all happens so fast! So I thought the story must be going to continue on to a honeymoon or something else because this all takes place at 68% but no, that's the end of the book. Then we get 3 chapters of another book which ends at 85% and the rest of the pages are links to all of the author's other works. I kind of felt a little gipped at having paid $2.99 for that short of a story when there are authors out there who are releasing their 300+ page books for that same price.
I am glad I read it and got a little more of Peter and Sidney's story. I want to read more about Jon Ferro now, I think he's my favorite of the Ferro brothers.
The wedding has day final arrived & when Peter goes to see Sydney, he is disarray & his tux lapels are covered in blood. Peter tells Sydney there will be no wedding that day & walks away. Shortly after Peter leaves, his mother Constance confronts Sydney to ask what type of woman she is. It is during this conversation that Sydney final realizes she is not a victim anymore. She is more determined than ever to fight for the man she loves. In the conclusion to the Damaged Series, Sydney finally becomes the strong woman Peter has been telling her she is. Will Sydney & Peter find their HEA?
I have been anxiously waiting to read this book. It was well worth the wait. What a fantastic ending to Peter and Sidney's story. Buckle your belt and get your heart set because this is one bumpy but beautiful Ferro ride.
Peter is a dream and this book absolutely solidified it for me. This book is filled with all the Ferro drama, action, suspense, humor and love. As messed up as the Ferro brothers are, there is no denying their love for each other and even crazy Constance shows a flicker of something in her heart of stone. Mr. Turkey proves himself to be the bad – A bird that he is. Sidney's strength really shines in this book. I loved every page!
A Damaged Wedding was beyond a five star read for me.
Damaged 1 and 2 were beautiful. However, I'm not sure if I can say the same about A Damaged Wedding. Although it's a story, I found parts of it to be incredibly unbelievable and unnecessary for the story.
Peter's love is never in question, yet to set the stage and create havoc on a planned wedding seems to be in true Ferro fashion. But it read more like an Arrangement book instead of a Damaged book. It also keeps the revolving door to this family's dynasty still open. When will it end? When will the pieces fall into place? Uncle Luke's story is barely mentioned and leaves more questions than answers. Jon's series timeline doesn't seem to match up with the wedding either. In the end, this volume left me flat.
I can't believe how much I missed this series and these characters until I saw their names. I am so happy Pete & Sidney got their HEA!! This story had a few surprises, some hilarious bird vs person bitch slapping and a whole lotta love ( Cut to the tissues ) I'm so grateful to Holly Ward for this wonderful series end. It was exactly what I hoped it would be.. (Fab)
This was such a disappointing ending to Peter and Sidney’s story. Once again, the events didn’t line up with the rest of the overlapping series at all. The book was too short ended at 68%.
I did enjoy reading A Damaged Wedding. It gave me some further insight into the life of the Ferro family and closes the door on Peter and Sidney’s story.
Even though enjoyable, I have sadly have found this story from start to finish to be a little disjointed and because I had high expectations after reading the first book, I am left feeling a little disappointed overall.
In my opinion I feel that for readers who are following the Ferro family this is a must read. The Damaged series has popped my H.M. Ward cherry and I am intrigued to learn more about Sean and Jon Ferro. Should I go on to read their series, I hope to find that their storylines are all tied up and all questions answered, and maybe I will find the answers to the questions I have regarding this storyline too.
It has been a little while since I've been in the Ferro world. I've been meaning to get back here because I love it! These books always get my adrenaline pumping and I love the twists and turns that the stories take! I will admit, I was a little lost at the beginning of the story because I haven't read some of the books in between and it's been a while since I've been in this world, but it didn't take me long to fall in love with Peter and Sydney all over again! The way that Ms. Ward writes and ties all of these series together is amazing! I was thrilled to see Sydney and Peter finally get their happily ever after. Loved it!
I loved the story, it had suspense, drama, love and Mr Turkey on the side. Still I was a bit disappointed that the story was so short, and even if the ending was beautiful I wanted more of the hole story. All happens a bit to fast. Still it´s a great ending for the couple of Damage. This is also not a full book with only Peter and Sidney, in the end of the book you also get 3 chapters of another book.
This was so stupid. The entire plot is: - pete ditches Colleli at the alter because someone is trying to kill him and he doesn’t want her to be a target - she says idc - there is some unexplained plot to catch the bad guys - she almost gets murdered but the family saves the day - they live happily ever stupid There is no real explanation as to why Pete had blood on him at the start, there is no explanation as to what the easily foiled plan was. This was just a shitty outline of a book
Oops, I read these out of order for the Ferro family, but it hooked me I am going back to the beginning. Of the Ferro family I think I started with the kindest family member with a jaded past, the details of the other family members provides enough insight to make me curious to find out more.
This story ended at 69% which automatically ticks me off. I'm glad Pete and Sidney got their HEA though.
While this last segment of the story was short, overall the story was amazing. Gina and Peter were doomed from the start but I loved them. Anyone else notice how much alike Gina and Sidney are?
Just not enough…much ado with smoke and mirrors about the man who killed Gina but no substantial info and then the wedding. The description of the wedding (for which the book was named) flew by and wasn’t satisfying. I wanted a taste of the honeymoon and at least a short epilogue. Nope. Just Jon making the pronunciation of husband and wife. See ya folks…
I really liked the three books of the story of Sydney and Peter. Peter the professor who fell in love with his t.a. Sydney. She had secrets from her pasta and so did he and they worked through them to a HEA!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was expecting a different storyline, some of the occurrences were unnecessary, unrealistic and just silly. Guess I was expecting their HEA not a HFN.
A woman who won’t give up on love & a man who gets cold feet. Join Peter, Sidney, Mr. Turkey, & the rest of the Ferro clan for a wedding that doesn’t happen.
I just love happy endings. I just wish Constance would be happy for her boys, and just butt out of their lives. I can't wait to see how their lives turn out. Peter deserves to be happy after what happened to Gina. Once again H.M. has given us a great book.
on edge, loving, fighting for what they believe in for each other against the odd. Holly you are my favourite. Hail to the Queen of suspense and drama.. just love it.... i'm so please with this.. I hope you bring both of them back I love Peter in all the Ferro's he's my favourite.
There comes a time when you have to decide are you "in" or are you "out"? What is in your heart? Or even WHO is in your heart? WOW Standing and clapping..... AMAZING read! Great end to the story of Sidney and Peter. I loved, loved, loved Sean's cameo....
Out of all the Ferro's, Peter is the one who makes me swoon. Nothing sexier than a man who can dance let alone speak and write poetry. The turmoil that Peter has been through is enough to make him feel there is nothing worth living for any longer. Just when he finds Sidney and gets a taste at that happiness again, will it be take. Away by the same people who took his precious Gina away as well. Not if Peter, Sean, John & Sidney have anything to say about it. Although the true hero of this story is everyone's favorite psychotic pet, Mr. Turkey. I busted out laughing every scene Mr. Turkey was in. That damn bird sure does love his Sidney. Good luck to Peter if he ever tries to hurt Sidney. Peter will definitely lose that battle. As Peter said, "The bird is indestructible!" Thank you so much Holly for giving Peter a great ending. I was so happy the way this series ended. We all hate to say goodbye to any Ferro, but you always make it worth the read.
A Damaged Wedding is a perfect ending to Peter and Sidney's story. However, I do not believe that this is the last we will see of them or Mr. Turkey. He is definitely my favorite "pet" in all of the books I have read to date. I love that both he and Sean were able to put aside their love/hate relationship for this book. LOL.
Peter and Sidney have both had a good share of ups and downs. This just made them so much stronger as characters in my eyes. It isn't hard to see why the are some of my all time favorites. A Damaged Wedding gave us great love, a harrowing chase, Mr. Turkey, the hero, and devoted family. I love how strong Sidney's character is. She is not afraid to give up and go after what she wants. He definitely isn't afraid of the Ferro clan and standing up to Constance just makes her that much better.
A great way to end this saga. An all time favorite for sure. I hope to see more of you Mr. Turkey!
