Momma’s Review of Hook & Ladder 69 Eighteen Authors….One Sexy Firehouse
Momma’s Rating 5 Blazing Stars!
What a fun and sexy read this anthology has been and for an incredible cause!!
This book has a little bit of everything for the readers, there’s lots of laughs which I did in many of these stories. There is some incredibly hot sexy moments where you’re in need of your own fireman to help put out your flames. There is some drama and angsty style reads, what can I say it’s a fabulous read! Can’t wait until it’s release, and there are several within these pages I’m hoping to read more of. *hint* I need MORE!!
Thank you to all these wonderful authors for these great stories and writing for such a great cause that’s so close to my heart as if it weren’t for good burn centers my son would not be still of this earth. So my thanks to all you contributors!

Hook & Ladder 69 is a compilation from 18 amazing authors. who have come together to give you one firehouse where all proceeds from this collaboration go to the Burned Children Recovery Foundation. I had the pleasure of reviewing Rekindled by Author L. B. Dunbar

"I was raised in how to put out fires, but that also means I know how to start them."

Adara Matherson was the girl in high school that ever guy wanted. Ash Flaugherty was not considered to be in the same class as Adara, and thought he'd never have a shot with the likes of her. Fast forward to present and Ash and Adara's chance meetings that cause them to reconnect, putting the flint in place to light their fire

"I'd like to loosen your hose."

Heat and sweet. That's what was found inside this chapter by Author L. B. Dunbar. She gave us just a taste of two unlikely to be paired characters and made us fall for them in a flash, leaving us to beg for more of Ash and Adara.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

Holy hotness! The male and females of Hook and Ladder 69 will make you want more and on several occasions will leave you needing extra pair of panties!

Each chapter is written from one of the 18 authors and totally will keep you interest. What a great way to raise money for charity than some very hot fireman and sexy firewoman. I hope these authors will continue the stories in a stand alone, I know I would love to have some more of these hot men on my kindle!!!

I don't normally review a book this way but, due to the way it is written, I feel the need to review each section as I finish them. Although, I won't post any of it until I'm completely done. So, here it goes.

Chapter 1: Five Alarm by Emme Burton
Matt 'Mattress' Wilson (Firefighter - House 69) and Erin 'Duff' Duffy (Butcher). They are so adorable. They spend 7 months flirting with each other before finally learning each others name. The playful phrases he uses while discussing meat with her and her come backs are so funny. Even when they aren't joking it's still funny. Sweet and short story. *I want more of this story!*

Chapter 2: Spark by M.C. Cerny
Ryland O'Hara (Firefighter - House 69) has some sinful desires for his best friend's little sister, Summer Rose Feeny (nurse). He knows he can't have her because Ford would kill him if he did but, there's just something about Summer that makes him forget about the consequences and want more from her. Summer has lusted after Ryland, her older brother's best friend, for years. They have both secretly loved one another from a far for years. Will the finally let down their walls and admit how they feel. This story is sweet, loving and a bit steamy. *I need more of this story!*

Chapter 3: Rose by Sarah M. Cradit
Brendan 'Eyes' (Firefighter - House 69) and Rose (Firefighter) were high school and college sweethearts. The joined the Volunteer firefighters as her idea. They worked along side each other until Brendan couldn't take her dangerous and life-threatening ways any longer. What will happen when the see each other again? This is a really short story. I like it but, I wish there was more to it. I'm going to keep reading to see if I can catch a glimpse of Brendan or Rose is a later chapter.

Chapter 4: The Chase by Michelle Dare (Told from Logan's POV) & Chapter 5: The Catch by Z.B. Heller (Told from Colton's POV)
Logan Carlise (paramedic) has had the hot for Colton 'Speedy' Pryor (Firefighter - House 69) for several years. Logan kept his distance, and his desires a secret, because Colton already had a man in his life. Now Colton is single after his partner cheated on him so, Logan is finally free to make his move. What will happen when he announces his intention to Colton?

Chapter 6: Firecracker by Jami Denise
'Pickup' Rivas and Heidi Jones met under bad circumstances. Rivas was the firefighter who showed up at her house to rescue her little boy from a hole he had fallen into. Two days later she shows up to his firehouse to say thank you to him. What happens next is anyone guess. Well, not mine because I read it and if you want to know then you have to read it too. *I'd love to hear more of this story!*

Chapter 7: Rekindled by L.B. Dunbar
Ash Flaugherty (Firefighter - House 69) and Adara 'Flame' Matherson (Country Music Star) were classmates in high school. Ash spent his teen years fantasizing about Adar. She spent 5 years hating him, at least she did in his eyes. Now 5 years after graduating high school he see her again. What secret about one another will be revealed? *Love me some more ASH!*

Chapter 8: Second Chances by Lisa Edward
Gus Reynolds (Firefighter - House 69) and Margaret McNally had been lovers until everything went to hell. When he finally lays eyes on her again after three years apart it's under extreme circumstances. He was on his first day at the firehouse and she was the victim of a fatal car crash. She was in a crushed car and impaled by a tree branch. What happened next brought tears to my eyes.

Chapter 9: Rescue Me by Lia Fairchild
Kate 'Legacy' Lewis (Fire fighter - House 69) and Eddie Baker (Firefighter - House 29) have known each other for years. Eddie is her older brother's best friend. They had a moment together, a stolen kiss on a rainy night, when she was still in the academy but, they pushed it away and tried to move on. Now several years later he's been injured on the job. What will they do? *I'd love to haer more about these two!*

Chapter 10: Untitled by Mary Catherine Gebhard
Cage is a firefighter who is on a forced leave of absence from work. He was suspected but never charged in his wife's murder. Now a year later his life is on a downward spiral. He meets a Crazy lady, who calls herself Zee, in a bar one night. Later he arrives home after several hours of walking around the city to discover Zee has broken into his home. Then after discovering some very disturbing things he runs with her. What will they do and how will he discover who really killed his wife? *I need to know more. What happened?*

Chapter 11: The Scratch by Glenna Maynard
Dottie is a 40 year old woman with a husband who hasn't touch her in over 6 months. She lives in the same building as Oz, one of those sexy firefighters from station 69. She fantasizes about Oz and his delicious 24 yr old body quenching her thirst. Oswald 'Oz' is coming home after and long day of working and is ready to have some alone time to unwind. Dottie has other things in mind. What happens next has some serious sizzle but, as things do with torrid affairs thing sometimes get heated in another way.

Chapter 12: Just one night? by Kristen Hope Mazzola
Candi (Firefighter - House 69) is one of the few female firefighters at the station. She works hard to prove she is just as capable as any of the men and she has a deep love of getting inked. She's also just getting out of a funk caused by her cheating, loser ex. Mitch is new to town and is also a firefighter. He recently moved after his ex left him and he accepted a new position at firehouse in town. Candi and Mitch meet when he walks into her favorite parlor looking for a place to get a new tattoo to celebrate his new life, and get rid of the old one. After, they decide to meet up for drinks and get to know one another. Well... I guess that's what they are calling it these days. *Wouldn't mind hearing some about these two!*

Chapter 13: Hope by Morgan Jane Mitchell
Ian 'The Hammer' Jones is a firefighter at station 69 with demons he can't shake. He can't rid himself of the sadness caused by his first lost victim. Jessica Ritter is a detective with Bomb and Arson squad. Ritter is investigating a series of fires that resulted in the deaths of two men. You aks Jones for his help and a new kind of fire is ignited between them.

Chapter 14: by Emerson Shaw
Jesse McKinney is yet another hot firefighter working out of house 69. Aurelie Lambert is a pastry Chef who own a little shop called 'Les Petits Choux Patisserie'. He walks in expecting to pick up a few desserts to enjoy while reading his newest book in the park. Instead he puts out the small fire she set in her kitchen only to spark another one with her. *Very cute story that I wouldn't mind being a little longer!*

Chapter 15: Birthday Blaze by Kacey Shae
Brennan O'Shea is a firfighter at firehouse 69 of course & Jenny is a butcher that works with Erin Duffy. He's hot and confident with his friends and co-workers but he is a mute around women. More importantly he can't seem to talk to the one woman he want, Jenny. Today is his birthday and Jenny asks if she can stop by his place because she has something for him. Finally, after months of hiding from what he wants he's finally taking the chance and going after what he wants. Will it all work out or will something else stand in his way? You just have to read and find out. *I wouldn't reading a bit more about Brennan and Jenny.*

Chapter 16: Fan the Flames by M. Straton
Ryan O'Conner is also a firefighter at house 69. He's out on his first date with Lana Hanover when the place gets robbed. The gunman forces everyone into the kitchen and ties them all up rope. It doesn't take long before everything goes south and it up to Ryan and Lana to save the other and themselves. Read on to find out what happens. *Another story I wouldn't mind having more of.*

Chapter 17: Inferno by Madison Street
Mackenzie Van Elburg is a single woman living in St. Louis. She had to drop out of college to take care of her mom after she suffered a stroke. Her older brother, Carter who is a firefighter in New York, hooked her up with an assistants job at the fire station 69. She considers herself a nerd and not a very attractive one. Her first day of work she stops to pick up a coffee on her way in. She has a collision with a man while standing inside the shop, knocking her glasses from her face. She's so mortified by the experience that she leaves without ever looking at him clearly. She rushes away thankful that she won't ever have to see him again. That is until she discovers the the stranger is none other than Trace, her brothers friend and a member of the station 69 firefighters. *I really enjoyed this one and would have liked more of it.*

Chapter 18: Raccoons and Cookies by Felicia Tatum
Mason Adler is the newest member of the Station 69 firehouse. On his way to work one morning he spot a woman with the top half of her body drapped into a storm drain. He pulls to the side of the road to assist her. When he arrives he finds she is trying to rescue a scared baby raccoon from the drain. This is the first day he lays eyes on Eva M'Kay. The woman who would prove to change his life forever. *Cute story. I would love to hear more of it.*

I have truly enjoyed this anthology. It's all about a the 'family' of men and women who make up the firefighters of station 69. I would love to see some of these stories expanded into full length novel or novellas. Just as long as I get more story then I'm happy. Give this book a try. You won't be disappointed and it's for an amazing cause. Well done ladies.

18 Hot Chapter's of Firefighters!

In Hooked & Ladder 69 you get to meet a new firefighter in each chapter. Even though each chapter is written by a different author, the book has a good flow. You would think it was written by one author. I think its FANTASTIC that ALL the proceeds are going to the Burned Children Recovery Foundation.

You'll need a bucket of water or a hose to cool you off after you read Hooked & Ladder 69. Grab a copy and meet the hot/sexy men and women of Station 69.

What a fun way to do something for charity! 18 writers basically write a chapter a piece and it is AWESOME! Who doesn’t love a fireman and in this book, which you just fly thru, not only do we get the fireman we get the firewoman. What makes it work and work well is who gets the fireman, the nurse who just broke up with the cheating hot doctor, the rescue worker, the firewoman who loved desperately, the nerd who’s taking care of her mother, the butchers who handle their meat, the cop and don’t forget cra-Zee. Normal everyday people capture their hearts along with their issues as well. Some of these guys are not only smoking hot in the fire they are just as hot in their personal lives.

These Author’s have done a wonderful job showing our guys in uniform in a fun, heartwarming and passionate way. They work hard protecting, serving and let’s not forget playing. There is so much more that could be and should be shared in this review and for this book but then you wouldn’t need to purchase it. This is a great read, lots of fun and for a great cause. Definitely worth the read.

I was so excited to get to read this book early! I love stories about men and women in uniform. This was the first time I read anything from most of these authors, but all of their stories were great.

I loved how each author wrote a chapter of the book and that each chapter told the story of a different firefighter's quest for love.

The book was a fun, quick sexy read! You've got to try it and all for a wonderful cause!

Hot firefighter stories for a great cause, The Burned Children Recovery Foundation.

One fire station...Station No. 69 (yes, really), and the firefighters who work there make up the characters for these short stories. Each story is a chapter about a different character by a different author. The chapters are a mixture of romantic, sweet, sexy, funny, and dramatic. Warning...many of them will leave you wanting more! Let's hope we get more.

This is a collaboration of 18 authors who have each taken a chapter and written a short story about one sexy firehouse! The crew are all drop dead gorgeous, each with a story to tell. Each individual chapter is a self contained story that provides a snap shot into the life of a firefighter or paramedic. Some of the stories are sweet, saucy, downright kinky whilst others are more emotional and filled with laughter. From saving kittens to handling their meat the stories are richly diverse and every chapter is a pure pleasure to read. Some characters flow through the chapters which gives this a continuous feel which is unusual in a collection from different authors and I was amazed by the chapters written by two authors that continued the same plot seamlessly but from two alternative points of view, it's was really cover and worked very well. This is an unusual concept but one that has worked really well and I thoroughly enjoyed. Most of the chapters would make excellent longer stories with another visit to Station 69 where the men are gorgeous and the women know what they want!

A fantastic five star read.

I had the pleasure of reading a few stories from this incredible collection!

REKINDLED by L.B. Dunbar gave us the totally hot and smoldering connection of Ash and Adara, A firefighter and the one who got away! What happened in the years spent apart is a delicious treat, and how they meet up again is most entertaining! I love L.B. Dunbar's style, and readers of all kinds will love it too!

FAN THE FLAMES from one of my favorite writers, M. Stratton, was awesome! Stratton was able to put her signature suspense into a date night! Ryan is a veteran firefighter, finally out with the girl, Lana, he was hoping to get a chance with! When suspicious events erupt during their evening, it's Ryan to the rescue! So heroic, nerve-wracking and dreamy!

I can't wait to read the rest of these wonderful stories by these talented writers! With proceeds going to a magnificent cause you get a good story and good karma! Win win!

Oh my Lord can you say SCORCHING? This was seriously one of the hottest anthologies I have read in a while. There is something for everyone in here; sweet, hot and steamy, a little drama and angst, even some laughter. All of that wrapped up in what has to be the hottest fire station ever! From the moment I began reading to the very last page I was in love. I can't even tell you which story was my favorite either because each one is so great. You will find yourself rooting for the men and women of Hook & Ladder 69!

18 Amazing Authors have come together to make this amazing read. Each author has their own little story but there is always an underlying connection to all the others which I loved. I was so shocked at how well this was written. Not that they are not amazing writers but that they could get all their different writing styles to mesh as one. This just proves that these ladies are not afraid to step out of their comfort zones. This book is filled with strong Alpha males that you can’t help but swoon over and also some kickass woman. The short stories are brief but you never feel like you are short changed. Most will leave a smile on your face. Bravo Ladies what a great way to raise money and showcase your beautiful talents.

Ready to melt your kindle? WOW 18 stories! Ready to bring your kink on? Whew these stories all have to deal with fireman/emergency people meeting that special someone ,call it fate, call it love but it's HOT! My favorite story was actually the first one Duffy works at a grocery store at the meat counter and Matt always gets meat on Thursdays and teases Duffy then one day Matt doesn't show up to find out Matt got injured But guess what,Matt does show up at closing time and they get there happily ever after. Some of the stories do end in cliffhangers and makes you want to know more! 4/5 stars Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Reads - ARC provided for a honest review ***

A clever collection of 18 authors each taking on a chapter involving one, or more, members of Firehouse 69 in St. Louis. Some of the chapters worked together to create a mini two chapter book while others played on the character's role in another chapter. We have a great mix of hot quick one night stands, second chance romances and a m/m relationship. Some were along the dirty encounter and some were sweet without anything steamier than a deep moan inducing kiss. Better than an anthology these authors worked together to create a unique and special story different from anything else I've read. I was given a copy by one of the authors for my honest review.

Five Alarm Fire - a sweet story about Erin and Matt. Erin works in the butcher department for a grocery store. Matt is a firefighter. They meet up every Thursday when the firefighters come to the grocery store for their dinner. There is some mild flirtation that goes on between the two of them. It is really cute. After seven months, they decide to move forward and see about maybe dating each other. Will a five alarm fire stop them from making good on their decision?

Spark - Ryland and Summer have wanted to be together for a long time. Ryland did not even think to approach the situation because of his friend and fellow firefighter Ford, Summer's brother. However, one fateful day, Ryland has a cookout and there are no more boundaries keeping them apart. A great story.

Rose - Brendon and Rose are high school sweethearts. However, her thirst for adventure and glory tear them apart. A cry for help brings them back together. Will they be able to find happiness in the unknown?

The Chase - Logan is a paramedic. Colt is a firefighter. They are both interested in each other. Colt has been hurt from a prior relationship and so is skittish of starting anything with anyone new. Logan wants to take the chance and jumps at the opportunity. Will there be a happy ever after?

The Catch - Logan and Colt's story continues. Three months in and they are going strong. It was a cute little story.

Firecracker - Firefighter Rivas saves a child from a burning building. The child's mother wants to thank him personally. Sparks begin to fly with their shared attraction.

I really enjoyed the concept behind this book. I love that I not only get to read chapters by some of my favorite authors, but I get to sample new to me authors and their writing styles. It always amazes me how the Indie community comes together to support worthy causes by donating proceeds from projects like Hook and Ladder 69. I love the idea of a firehouse book benefitting a burn center for children. Kudos to the authors for putting this collection together.
I found that I enjoyed each of the chapters on their own merit. Each one showcased the author's ability to tell a story in a shortened version all within the context of the members of Firehouse 69. Some of the stories were sweet and flirty and others a little steamier. I enjoyed some of the characters popping up in other stories in the book. Not all of the styles are similar but amazingly they all mesh together well. I particularly like the M/M chapters written about the same characters by two different authors. It showcases the talent of the authors to pick up a story that another writer had started.
Of course I loved the stories by LB Dunbar and Michelle Dare, two of my favorite authors. However, the chapters by M. Stratton and Emme Burton have me scouring my kindle for other books by them, as well as other authors I got a glimpse of. I read this on vacation, which was perfect. The complete short works were perfect while riding in the car or sitting by the pool. I could finish off a story and not have to worry about having to backtrack. I could approach each chapter as a new story the next time I had a chance to read. Several of the stories look like they might be the beginnings of a longer work, which I think would be a great idea. Or maybe next year another peek at our favorite firemen?
