Nearly sixty-five million years ago an asteroid collided with the Yucatan Peninsula in the fifth and final Extinction Event that nearly destroyed all life on Earth. But when a recent earthquake exposes something unusual 2000 feet beneath the Yucatan Peninsula, cryptanalysts Alyssa Moore and John Savage are called in to investigate this peculiar structure that bears uncanny resemblances to writings discovered in Eden.
Working with the Department of Defense, John and Alyssa discover the remains of what is believed to be the cataclysmic bolide to have struck the Earth sixty-five million years ago is actually a broken-off section of an intergalactic ark.
Inside this remnant, they discover a zoological lab containing a menagerie of apex predators gathered from all points of the universe. But as John and Alyssa begin to tie in the writings on the ship to writings they discovered in Eden, a DOD military faction seeking intel unwittingly disrupts matters by awakening sleeping giants.
Finding themselves fighting for self-preservation and for the salvation of Earth, John and Alyssa battle soldiers trying to kill them for the sake of completing a hidden agenda . . .
. . . and against the most vicious predators in the universe.

When an earthquake in Mexico uncovers an ancient artifact with the same symbols inside that Alyssa found inside Eden the DOD call on her and Savage to help them interpret the symbols so they can reverse engineer the wonders found inside.
Footnote: 1) I love the archaeological aspects of these kind of stories but as a creationist it makes me smile as I ignore the fantastically unbelievable timelines and other evolution ideas that cling to them as they desperately try to explain away faith in something greater. All their ‘evidence’ can work either way.
2) “It not the ‘final’ extinction event as life on Earth is still there. So it’s only the last one so far.
Fave scenes: Whitaker’s revelation on his importance, Alyssa’s Hangman, Whitaker’s button decision and the Hominid’s sacrifice.
Following on from Crypts of Eden, this follows our two adventurers under water to a millennia old space ship, still energised with a miracle lower source and stocked with animals from other worlds. Beset by the evil American CIA, they battle to solve riddles and survive. Intriguing perhaps but not a bad storey. Light fiction to entertain is my view, certainly not comparable to Matthew Reilly at his best but it passed the time enjoyably.
Reading this book. It keeps you turning pages to the very end. And leaves you wanting more. I hope the writer has more books with these characters on them.
The woman and the man from the first books are called when an earthquake uncovers something at the bottom of the sea.
This object is a menagerie of loads of different alien species which are all kept in energy fields perfectly preserving them. The government wants to harness this technology to get the upper hand on other countries.
The woman and the man manage to decrypt the technology but then the elite soldiers down there with them turn on them and try to steal the information. Meanwhile something is tripped and all the thousands of alien species manage to escape, some instantly die but others who can tolerate the atmosphere reap havoc on the ship.
The woman and the man manage to escape a me leave the remaining mercenaries in the ship when an aftershock sends is miles and miles deeper into the sea losing it forever.
I loved The Crypts of Eden, this book takes things a little off kilter. The asteroid the struck the Gulf of Mexico and caused the dinosaur extinction is now a space ship full of apex predators in stasis fields. A part of the ship is able to be accessed and our heroes are contracted by the DOD to try to interpret the written language in the ship...
Basicly, it's all a plot device to get our heroes in a situation where monsters can chase them as they attempt to escape. It was a cool theory and a fun read, but not much more in depth.
I really enjoyed this novel. The plot is rather original and creative, plus it was a successful follow-up to the Eden Series book#1. I recommend this to all fans of action thrillers (but read book#1 first)!
