All but one feature the red-headed detective Peter Clancy and his valet Wiggar.
Thayer was born in Pennsylvania and educated at Cooper Union and Pratt Institute, New York City. She married Henry W. Thayer in 1909. As an artist and illustrator, she had paintings displayed at Chicago World's Fair, and produced designs for book jackets.

This is a Peter Clancy mystery. If you haven't read Lee Thayer before, she is definitely readable and interesting. A murder takes place aboard ship at the high seas and incognito detective Clancy must help the captain solve the mystery. Firmly rooted in its time is both good and bad when reading it with a modern eye. However, the mystery is interesting and Clancy is a serviceable detective.
