After several days of coma, I have finally woken up but I am not the same. Slowly, I, Meg, am trying to put the pieces of me back together, alone and separated from Jay. My new situation has changed my perspective on everything. I will never be the same. Then, after countless days of being apart, Jay and I finally are reunited but everything has changed. Everything but one definite plan: escape from White's clutches. Whom can I trust? Whose truth is reality. In the end, there is just one thing we can rely on: the beast in us.
With The Beast In Us the series returns to its first narrator Meghan Singer, who has to face new threads, new decisions and one fact that will change her life forever.
Please beware that this book is not suited for minors and also includes dark and disturbing themes as well as explicit sexual interactions.
D.S. “Dee” Wrights was born 29th March 1980 in Germany. Her name is a pen name, and she describes writing as her passion and calling. Dee speaks three languages fluently, English, German and Dutch, and some other rudimentary. Although she started writing at an early age and two short stories were published during high school, one as a school project and one in a regional newsletter – Dee never dared of thinking to pursue a writing career. Until she started writing fanfiction and readers encouraged her to publish The Beast And Me as an ebook in May 2014. Dee worked at a publishing house at which she earned insight into the work, process, and production of publishing books. That was the reason why she chose to do all the work herself, apart from proofreading. When talking about her novels, Dee explains that she loves to dive into the mindset of different characters, especially those of villains and anti-heroes. However, in addition to that, she enjoys writing women who start off as weak and grow through their experiences in her books and end up being their own hero.
The question "Why do you want to be my friend?" is meant seriously. If you have more friends than books, or your answer doesn't tell me anything, I most likely won't accept the request.
It took me a while to read and review this book because I had to go back and reread the previous book as I could not remember what happened in between the waiting periods. The Beast In Us started slow for me but took off like a rocket in the middle. This is a series you have to read in order.
The last book, The Beast In Me is basically the same as book 1 except it is told from Jay's POV. This time around we experience Meg's POV while she is transitioning into her own beast Lies are exposed in this book, enemies revealed, friends lost. Meg's diaries entries are crucial to understanding her thoughts.
I found this book to be the most interesting so far especially with new characters such as Daniel. The ending, although thrilling was disappointing too. I like dark but I wasn't expecting a cliffy like that! Oh well, I can't wait to see what Meg has up her sleeves in the next book, The Beast Is Me.
March 2, 2015 I can't wait to read the continuation of this series
This is the third book in the series, and you must read the first two books to understand this third one. There will be a forth book so be prepared for a cliffhanger. This book is about Meg and her transformation from a young meek woman to a strong and driven woman out to save her and her man! It seems to be Meg against the "prison" she finds herself in. A few quotes I liked: "But I want his rage. I want to feel that blaze inside of him, inside of me."
"I heard him rip my t-shirt to shreds and I didn't mind, because once his fingertips touched my skin they seemed to melt away like snow under a spring sun."
"Jay was so gentle; it hurt in a beautiful way."
"Everything was right, perfect; everything in our little bubble of sweaty, lustful rapture."
I found this book to be the least upsetting to this compassionate reader of the 3 so far. The author's writing takes a bit to get used to, due to english being a second language. But I enjoy her stories and will go on to read the next one!
This book was gifted by the author for an honest review.
So I can't fully describe what I feel right. It's somewhere between stressed out and relief. So this book was the 3rd installation and I gotta be honest with you the draft was really rough. Some of the material felt redundant to me. At points transparent. I normally love to read her stuff but I couldn't help rushing through the first half of this book. After about 60% things just took a turn for the "DRAMATIC" which is good news. I cried at the end lord knows I did. I haven't quit on her yet. So book 4 is going to be good I feel it. But the journal entries style, have to be a little more exciting. I still have faith in this author.
First i need to say that The Beast And Me Series was one of my best reads in 2015 and i was waiting for The Beast In Us with BIG expectations, D.S. Wrights delivered.
It was everything i expected and more. This one is different from the others. There is a lot more action, new characters that you might love to hate and of course the one we already hate, White and the one we already love Jay. We get to understand more about the experience and the motivations behind it.
Best In The Series, This book is truly epic! If you love The Beast And Me Series You Need This one, You will forget to breath! ***Annie

I've waited for this book far too long and now I've been blessed with receiving an ARC from the author!
OMG! This book! My heart is bleeding and I am simply stunned! This is by far the best book of this author and this series. So much is happening, so much is revealed and the final pages just take your breath away! Especially the end is just so... epic. That's the word. Meg has become a strong determined person and Jay is ... Jay. So perfect!
If you didn't like book two, please don't give up on the series! You need to read this!
I received an arc for my honest review. I was jumping up and down waiting for this one! It was everything I expected and more. The story continues with Meg waking up changed in more ways than one. I would have liked more from Jay/Ten and feel the rest of his story was missing, the end was heartbreaking. But its not really the end is it...need more!!
This book is probably the least dark or depressing of the series and this might be something readers might disappoint. I, however, see the development of the story as comprehensible and I like the change of character Meghan goes through. Remembering that this too is a diary, the narrative has its logic restrictions. I welcome that Meg is the narrator of this book again and she will hopefully in the next installment, because I like her ever growing stronger voice more. While the beginning of the book seems repetitive it sends us through the ringer at the end and even as we all get what we wish for in this book the end could in deed be the end of the series, and most definitely a heart-wrenching one. Luckily - as we flip the final page - we learn that it's not the end.
Yes, this is more like that. This 3rd book in the series is like the first one, an unbelievable gripping page-turner.
Mag and Jay's book or their journal (yes, this book is still written in the form of a journal) is a really twisted, unpredictable, suspenseful and thrilling story.
This creepy, but fascinating story about a hell, that in reality is a scientists labor for human experiments, is a really addictive and very exciting book.
A secret project, with crazy megalomaniac scientist and financed by a secret organization, tries to create the ultimate soldiers with help of a virus.
What Mag and Jay are going through is a never-ending nightmare that escalate to... Sorry, but no more spoilers 🤭 This book is not so dark and disturbing like book #1, but has some triggers 😬
So I'm already reading the next book in the series, so the reviews will continue...
I don't know what to say about this book without spoiling everything, but I'll give it a try. Again, The Beast In Us is written as a diary and Meg is the one taking the pen again. It starts off as the others, which might be worn out by now but then again: it's a diary. And I like the idea that it's written realistically and not for entertainment purposes. What I love most about the book is when things are - finally - going down. The pace is fast and I couldn't put it down until the very end, which is not a cliffhanger in my eyes. The series could end like this! I'm happy that it's not. We meet familiar characters again as well as new, which is the perfect premise to continue this series. I won't stop hoping for a happy end!
Astounding! I absolutely am in love with this series!
This series will keep you thinking and on your toes. If you think you have something figured out you truly do not. New characters for you to love or hate. We learn more about the experiments and reasons as to why they are happening.
Truly amazing writing. You will forget to breathe as you read and will stay up late to finish the story! Hands down a remarkable story and insight to the human mind, body and soul~
First, I will say that I'm the editor in these books. But, I edit ALOT of books, and this series is one of the best I've read. Dark, engaging and truly wonderful. It will have you turning page after page to see what happens next. I cried like a baby with this latest addition, and that made me love it more. Definitely recommend!
This book started off really slow, but the end was all action. And boy, the ending took me by surprise. Overall, it was a good story, and I can't wait for the next part of the story.
I couldn’t put this book down, following Meg’s story has been amazing with surprises that never stop popping up. Definitely a must read from book one. Time for me to get book 4 ;)
I read this book because it should have been the second in the series but I found myself skimming parts as well. The ending was crap and I also hated how it skipped forward and then went back. I think the diary entry part worked well in the first book but then it gets really old.
So there I was staring at the cover for the third installment of 'The Beast and Me' series with feelings of both dread and hope. Because of the way the previous book ended, I had reason to believe this book would be much better, but I'd not yet recovered from my disappointment over the second. As a precaution I skipped the coziness of my bed and instead curled up on the sofa in jeans and a t-shirt with a jealous Miss Marble kitty on my lap rubbing her face against the edge of my phone.
With the opening line I was immediately whisked back to the same feeling of excitement I experienced in the first book, and that feeling only increased as I kept reading. A third of the way through I realized I may just like this one better than the first, so I stood up and made my way to my bedroom, reading as I walked. I turned on my lamp, kicked off my jeans, and tucked myself under the covers. I desperately needed a bottle of water, but I was too engrossed to move a second time!
Meg becomes amazing in this part of the story. Her change in personality and what I felt was the almost certain outcome of her situation made me unable to put this book down. It was every bit as exciting as the first book for an entirely different reason. This author knows her character, and you feel every bit of her emotion and expectation. The ending is dramatic, and I can't decide if liked it. Perhaps it just couldn't play out in any other way. I'll be interested in finding out where she takes the story from this point. I have my suspicions. Since there is a resolution to the immediate danger, I do not consider this ending a cliffhanger, but there are some unresolved issues, and I will definitely be reading the next book! emnoir.wordpress.com
"She was trembling like a leaf in a storm, all blood was drained from her face, and her mouth stood agape, her jaw trembling. And this was a scientist that had faced beasts before. So, I must be the absolute nightmare ... and I loved it to bits".
Maghan is still changing - in more ways than just her body. Plotting their escape may seem to turn out well at first; but in the end ... she lost almost everything.
I loved this one, because no one seems to be who she/he is.
(German titel: Das Biest in uns.
This book was crazy! There was so much going on. Meg is planning her escape while trying to keep secrets from everyone. Then Meg is trying to organize and escape for herself, Jay and the other beasts but something unexpected happens and things go horribly wrong. The ending was quite a shock and I was not expecting this to happen that way. Definitely need to read the next book to find out what happens next.
Loved the third instalment of The Beast In Me series. You hear a lot more from Meg and her transition to becoming a beast just like Jay. Was not expecting the end and not sure i can cope with it. Was a shock you didn't see coming and neither did Meg. I can not wait to read what happens next and if Meg can find Justice from her revenge.
Decent enough read, and then there were the love scenes. I found her internal monologue during them ridiculous, like incredulous-laughter-roll-your-eyes ridiculous. Also, I feel like the plot didn't make sense? Still game for reading the rest though~~
I'm not sure what happened here but I just lost steam with this series. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood anymore but I struggled and struggled and eventually just gave up. Maybe I'll try to revisit it again in the future some time.
