If this book was purely about growing up I could give it more stars. However as a weaning book I'm very disappointed.
The toddler in the book is the kind who is so happy playing and growing up that they don't even noticed they've weaned. While I know these children exist, I don't think they need a book about weaning.
I'm sure other parents thinking about weaning, like me, have toddlers who need a lot of emotional support around this big change, and this book offers none.
I realise in hindsight I should have picked up from the book title that actually the message 'everything changes' is a very daunting one. And now trying to wean my toddler I realise the key message she needs is 'everything else is going to be the same: you still get cuddles and kisses and quality time and all the other things you love'.
