Were women forced to pay a fine as soon as they came on their period? Who had such an extreme hatred of women? Xavier James delivers an eye opening account of the facts.
Mr. James pointing out logical inconsistencies in the Bible
I really do not know if Mr. James had the conversation he reports here with a pastor. It could be fiction. Let's start with the premise that it is not fiction. Mr. James had the conversation he records in this very short essay with a pastor. The questions he asked the pastor about the Bible were astute. They point out logical inconsistencies in the Bible. Let's also add the premise that God exists. Logical inconsistencies like these imply to me that God did not write the Bible. Humans, with all the faults and prejudices, wrote the Bible instead. Therefore the Bible should not be revered as infallible nor as the word of God. My premised God would not be illogical.
This is the first of Mr. James essays I have read and I like him. The essay could have used some editing. It has misspelled words. (E. g. : alter should be altar; since should be sense.)
I borrowed this using my KU membership and it was, IMHO, worth borrowing and reading.
