I can't begin to describe how disappointed I am in this book.

Having enjoyed 'Kingpin' I was really looking forward to this book in fact I stayed up to try and download it at midnight and it started really well, in fact the first half was fabulous and I was completely hooked and seriously regretting that it had been released on a day when I knew I wouldn't have much reading time.
So all was going well my only issue, and I don't know if this happened in the previous book and it just didn't bother me but the characters seemed to spend a lot of time in their heads.
I love Dominic and Alannah was proving to be an intelligent level headed woman who deserved him until about half way in when she has a huge TSTL moment and it may sound shallow but that was the book ruined for me. I know the book had to reach a certain point but it could have been done a different way I mean seriously want the hell did she expect to happen?
Anyway I continued on hoping the TSTL moment was the only hiccup in an otherwise good book but unfortunately that was not the case.
We knew from the epilogue of 'Kingpin' that two people close to Dominic were going to try and take him down, one was pretty obvious the other a total surprise and a surprise because it was totally and utterly unbelievable. I'm ranting here because I'm so annoyed but under Dominic's rule The Family have had their best year ever, things are running smoothly and everything's going well yet these two decide now is the time to step in and save him, save him from what? Happiness?

After reading Kingpin, I was hoping that there would be more to the story of Dom and Alannah. To say I was happy when Long Live The King was slated to be released would be an understatement. I was good with the first book, but this one literally knocked that one out of the running. This book was everything I was hoping the first one would be. There was murder, mayhem, cunning, coldness, calculation, sex, intrigue, betrayals, subterfuge, etc. I loved every minute of it.

“She’s in my corner, no matter what, and I’m in hers. Everything else may fall apart, but never Alannah and me.”

Dom’s still the head of the family, the youngest Don ever and not everyone is happy about it. But so what, he’s making it work. Everything is smooth sailing… until it isn’t. Things start going wrong and pretty soon Dom’s not sure who to trust. It’s him and Alannah against the world and he’s ready to shoot first and ask questions later. I never imagined Dom becoming so cold but in the face of all the nonsense surrounding him, I couldn’t really blame him. Besides, I was loving the heck out of his fierceness.

“You better remember it forever. I’m Dominic Collazo.”

Overall, I enjoyed the business out of this story. As the third story I’ve read from this author, it’s my favorite by far!!

This book was AMAZING!!

I remember after reading Kingpin, that I couldn't wait to see what happened next and let me tell you.. WS did NOT disappoint!! Dominic is back and not to be messed with. The one thing you don't mess with is his Queen..Alannah. As much as I loved Kingin (It was my first mafia romance read), LLtK was on another level. I've read all of his books and as with each book, his writing blows me away. I was on the edge of my seat thinking one thing and then something else happened..I was hooked!

Betrayal and lies...this story was action packed. What does Dominic do? You have to read to find out!

If you're a fan of mafia romance, you will love this. Start with Kingpin and see how it all began. You will not be disappointed!!

Dominic Collazo is back !!
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown ! Dominic may have become the King at young age of 27, but the older generation of mafiosi are not ready to bow to him. This leaves him struggling to prove himself over an over again. There's betrayal , there's bloodshed, there's traitors .......and there's love.
His organisation is being hit from every side . His own crew is testing his limits, the love of his life is being bullied and reputation tainted simply by his association and there's a Rat !
The writing stays true to the environment. It's a bloody world of Italian Mafia , there's Highway Robbery, back stabbing, two timing involved and Greer handles it adeptly. The pace is fast and slick, the contexts are precise. There's no loose ends and there's twists and turns like you wouldn't believe it !!
What started so perfectly in This Thing Of Ours in Kingpin, continues at the same volatile , breakneck speed. Greer has mulled over, revised, tweaked this story to perfection. Dominic looks like a lone fighter ambushed and hit by entire Famiglia at one point but can they break him........FUHGGEDDABOUTIT !!!!!!!
You better remember it forever, I'm Dominic Collazo

It’s not often that KFF review a book which hasn’t been offered to us as an ARC and we’re not exactly proud to admit it, either. There’s always one in hand and more often than not, with a deadline. Saying that, we couldn’t be more grateful to those who choose us to give our honest opinion. Seeing that there are so many authors' works to discover and since one of our fave genres is Mafia romance, we one-clicked the first book, Kingpin. We went in blind, we were enthralled, we loved it! WS’s storytelling modus operandi, his writing talent to construe characters that toyed with our emotions made us sit back and think. WOW, this guy knows what he's doing! And now we have the finale of an epic romance.

Firstly, I have to say how much I appreciated the author mentioning all the characters in the first chapter. Trying to remember who is who in a sequel can at times be a tad arduous. And then I was thrown into the thick of Alannah Sullivan’s problems. Defending the love of her life causes quite a dispute; her way of dealing with it certainly earned my respect. This sassy opinionated gal is not alone regarding her man’s charms. You can imagine who else is!

“Fuhgeddaboutit. Unfortunately, I know exactly what you mean.”

My first thought was would Dominic Collazo be able to live up to his reputation. Kings come and go, don’t they? I thought that maybe he’d gone a bit soft on me; however, I couldn’t have been more mistaken. He’s not the exactly same person I got to know, though. And seeing this slight change in him is quite understandable as he's got other things on his mind. We were given a hint of things to come in the cliffy in Kingpin which figuratively speaking, made me throw a few choice words at the author! Still, in LLtK this snippet tangled and an event that follows slowly build up and is by no means in his favour. I certainly got the impression that strict rules within such an organised and tight-knit clan as is the Mafia weren’t going to be respected.

“The only reason you’re alive right now, is because I have all these fucking rules to follow.”

It becomes a make it or break it situation for Dominic with so much in play. Street-wise beyond his years, he prepares himself for the worst after Alannah voices her doubts about allegedly trustworthy people. Getting ready to take on the whole ‘system’, hands full juggling his legit businesses, his foremost worry is protecting the woman he loves. But would trying his hardest be enough? When the tough gets going, would she keep her thoughts to herself?

“Mercy? What are you, crazy? This is the Cosa Nostra, there is no mercy!”

Nevertheless, Dominic's uncanny ability to sense imminent threats and where they lie will above all, help him to unravel a complex plot with all the odds against him. My, ooh my, in consideration of the foregoing, perhaps his negotiating skills were a tad, humph… unethical. I questioned his stance, but it didn’t take me long to realise that he had no option if he was going to survive the storm. A hell of a lot of the angst in his story; there is, and you definitely have to read LLtK to make up your own minds as to whether or not methods used were correct.

“No matter what happens, we’ll figure it out together. We’ll beat all of this. Because we have to. Because this isn’t just you and me…”

I was left aghast towards the end of this read that has plenty of vividly described scenes. Surprises abound—good and not-so-good. The cause of such devious goings on and so close to home has its aftermath, too, and simply knocked me backwards. Now to sum up this sequel. Theirs is a beautiful thing. I adored how honest both of them were with their feelings. How Alannah accepts her man for what he is with his traits included was for me, of utmost importance. His dedication to her, their utter devotion to each other, sold me. How they strived to reach their goal showed me love conquers all. The supporting characters’ personality development cannot be ignored and to say I could’ve gladly strangled some of them would be putting it mildly. The lingo used is appropriate, the banter really good and the storyline flows at a pace that I found very much to my liking. Sadly, this is arrivederci Dominic and Alannah. Bravo WS!

This is nothing that I want to do after reading this book, Fuhgeddaboutit! Alannah and Dominic return in this fantastic conclusion. There is revenge, love, a hole in the family and someone wants Dominic to fail. There is no stopping at what they will go through to ensure that The King is no longer in charge. 27 is a young age and Dominic knows this, however he is ready to rule! But at what sacrifice? Will he loose everyone and everything he has been primed for? Especially his one and only true love? Or is Alannah the one to set him straight and see what is going on in the family?
This is a great good bye to Dominic and Alannah! Kudo's to you W.S. Greer for working so hard to bring us a flawless finish!

"'This is what I wanted, baby,' he barks as he spanks my as and the sting of it radiates down my legs. 'I wanted you just like this. Scream for me.'"

5 mafia stars!! Dark, intense and so very mafia... just the way I like it!

If you thought book one was insane, then just wait for this one!! I'm leaving my review vague, simply because I don't want to ruin it for others. I fell in love with this series with book one and I couldn't wait to get book two. It was intense, dark and so very dirty... and when I wasn't fanning myself from all the heat, I was gasping at all the twists and turns!!! Seriously, this is one of my favorites series!!

Dominic Collazo has only been the head of the Giordano Crime Family for a short year, and during that time, he has brought the Family to new levels of success. Money is pouring in, and it's doing so quietly and somewhat more above board. With the love of his life beside him, things couldn't be better for him. Alannah Sullivan is finally enjoying life with the man she never stopped loving. However, his power breeds jealously, but she will stand up to any and everyone who would ever talk bad about him, so she doesn't have a lot of friends. While they're living happily, a plot is being hatched around him. It seems the Family has a traitor in it's midst, and the betrayal is huge. As Dominic races to uncover the enemy trying to unseat him, will be able to protect Alannah from the hidden threat?

WOW! THIS WAS A GREAT ENDING TO DOMINIC'S STORY, although I'm prepared to beg for more of he and Alannah! This story kept me on the edge of my seat, with my heart racing cover to cover. The character development is fantastic, with a very colorful cast of secondaries . Dominic and Alannah's chemistry has always simmered under the surface, so the sexy scene goodness is EXPLOSIVELY HOT HOT HOT everytime they are together. W.S. Greer did an EPIC job writing this super exciting story with his brilliant writing style. The suspense seemed to swirl all around me while emersed in the intense story, which made for quite a few f-bomb dropping moments. In all the scenario's in my head, I could have NEVER predicted the way the story ended. But while I LOVED LOVED LOVED it, I'm still sad to see the characters engraved on my heart, moving into finished story land. Anyway, enough of my dramatic girly girl emotions. I'll finish with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this book, Duet, and author to ALL!

I read Kingpin and was thrilled when I was given the chance to read the second book in this duo. This is a mafia/romance/childhood sweethearts/crime story and I have loved every single word that I have read. I plowed through book 2 in a 3 hour sitting as I just couldn’t put it down.
It has a bit of everything you want from a book and at the end of it is a beautiful HEA.
The descriptive writing keeps the story flowing beautifully and I love how the characters have developed and matured throughout the story. The twists and turn keep on coming and they keep you wanting to read more.
The ending was one of those where although your happy to see the HEA you really didn’t want the story to end.
All in I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey and I honestly cant wait to read more from this author.
An absolute 5 stars from me!!!!

WOW! I hope I do this book justice with my review. I was extremely excited to start this book. The way Kingpin left off made me ready for this book right away. I will be honest, I was worried this book might not be as great as the first one but rest assured, it is just as good if not better. The first few chapters get you refamilair with the characters but in no time the book picks up speed and it never stops. I found myself wanting to keep reading because I had to know what was going to happen. The suspense is excellently executed and I could easily see this as a movie. I also loved how he referenced another great book and characters from another story too. That was fun to read too.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you are into mafia and suspenseful reads. Great job WS! You nailed it!

Good mob family book. Love Dominic. Wish there was more connection between characters. The story line is good. It takes place in St Louis. I've lived in St Louis my whole life and certain liberties were taken which bugs me. I know authors have every right and if I wasn't from St Louis I would have never known.
There isn't a whole lot of deep family connections that I would expect from a mob book. By good story line. Full of action.

I was so excited for this release! Dom has quickly become one of my faves! I love his devotion to Alannah and his crew. In this book the betrayal runs deep! I was racking my brain to think of who it could be but never in a million years did I suspect who THEY actually were. Many lives were lost due to so much selfishness. This book had me going through so many emotions ! Anger, loss, love, betrayal and so much more. This author definitely will be a one click on every release!

Wild rollercoaster ride...

So yeah I loved kingpin but this book just wow......The Heart stopping action, the chase, the secrets, the betrayals ......I have literally read this book in a couple of hours. I just couldn't put it down.
Dominic is the ultimate badass mafia boss and he definitely gives up to his image more so in this book whereas alannah is just perfect and loyal in her role as queen by dominic's side.
My heart was beating so fast trying to figure who it might be from Dom's close people who must be betraying and if the first revelation isn't shocking enough the other name had me like...WHATTT.......😳😳😳...yeah my reaction and if those revelations weren't enough then it's life vs death for both dom and alannah.
At one time I wanted to throw my kindle and also slap Alanna for her foolishness. I was like girl what's wrong with you just shut up. And then the fight for life as they are trapped in chases, fun fires and the mafia rage.
This book was one awesome fast ride and I loved loved every second of it. I really hope the author gives us more of this kind of books. 💗💗💗

Long Live The King

Amazing, awesome, wonderful and such a enjoyable read. Thank you for the suspense as I thought it was between Tommy and Frankie who wanted Dominic to step down but my God when I heard Gloria then it was like an electric school. Any how, Judy wanted to express my outmost thanks to you for being such an incredible author.

Thank you thank you and thank you again for an amazing job.

Ding, Dong, The King Is Dead!

Dominic was a badass in "Long Live The King," dominating the story. He dominated the story so much that Allanah seemed to be an ancillary character. This did not bother me because she was a bit of (well actually totally) an airhead. Dominic could have been in love with Frankie or Tommy and it would have had the same effect. In the book's defense, I thoroughly enjoyed "Kingpin."

A good follow up from the first book. I have really enjoyed this authors work, and since I live in St. Louis I can picture all the places he references in this book. This boom has a lot of intrigued n you don't really find out whose behind things until the end and then the author throws you for a loop on one of the people. This is a great two book story well worth your time reading.

I really loved Dominic and Alannah in Kingpin and they are just as good in this book. The writing is smooth, the story compelling.
We rejoin Alannah at work where rumours of her relationship with Dominic are affecting her work environment. When her boss calls her out as a trophy mob wife she does the only thing she can, stands up for him. What will happen when she has no anchor in her life but Dominic? Is he really the stable rock she needs?
Dominic is the youngest Kingpin there has ever been. It's been noted, and it's not necessarily welcomed. When a plot by his own men goes terribly wrong and they are backed into a corner how will they escape?
There are twists and turns in this book, it's fast paced but easy to follow. Dominic is true to himself and still not one to be messed with. Alannah is still as in love with him as she always was, she's always most as fierce as he is and that's something to be reckoned with!
I really enjoyed that while Dominic is clearly an alpha male and everyone knows it, he's not an ass. He's loyal and true to both his family and Alannah.
Another great read from WS Greer!

Well after the way book 1 ended I knew this would be packed full of excitement and suspense !! I loved how it was dual POV but yet had the mysterious random chapter with no label filled with the 2 going against Dominic. Each time one of those chapters came up there was some kind of clue or lead on who they may be !! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for horror but also on the edge waiting for Dominic to find out who it was.

Alannha was great in this book. She loved and respected her man and supported him in his job despite it being scary and dangerous. She had one major mistake but without that there wouldn't have been that amazing ending !! They go back a long way and she gave up a lot to be with him now so nobody was going to hurt her man and get away with it. She was the perfect Queen to her King. Dominic was enjoying his role and the Dom , he felt he earned it and deserved it. The year had been fairly calm and although he knew some didn't approve of his role things went as planned. That is until one guy kept messing things up. Not only did he look guilty but he seemed the perfect fit for the traitor role. As Dominic tried to fix all the mistakes being made some drastic measures were taken and some went against the rules. It was a whirlwind of action and deceit. You will be shocked once you find out the truth and you will be even more shocked with the events leading to the end. Hang on for a wild ride !! There may just be a cold HEA waiting for Dominic and Alannha...

I was given this book for an honest review.

5 stars.

Not only did I love this mob story, I thought the second book was better than the first. The energy that this book gives off from the beginning has so much intensity, that you don't want to stop reading until you know who is doing what and who's team everyone is on. It starts right up where it was left off, which makes it so much better. You didn't miss anything. You don't miss out on how the family still doesn't trust everyone fully. There are leaks in the family and you don't really get to know what is going on till the middle and end of the story. Now the lead up to it, is well pretty awesome in itself. There is always your drama because you are mobsters, but when things seem to be happening that shouldn't be, you start to realize there is a rat in the organization. The writing in this book was perfect. There are so many twists and turns that make you rethink everything that you thought you knew. Dominic is such a great character in this story. He plays his character perfectly. He has always loved the family, but has loved Alannah more. So when this story continues you will see what kind of dilemmas Dominic starts to have. With mob wars brewing, loyalties being up in the air, and new obstacles being placed, who knows who will come out living at the end. Each character in this book has such an important role to play, that it makes the book so whole. Knowing what I do now since I read the book I'm still in awe with the book.

I loved everything in this book. The way it started, all the twists and turns and the epilogue was spectacular also. There was not any part of this book that was boring or you would want to pass up. I have read mob books before, but this one is just wow. The couple was perfect for each other, what they have to overcome in both books, are not only amazing but you pull for them all the way through the book. The family is what they are you can never really trust anyone, but when you can find that person that can define you, you got to live with all you have. I can't wait to read more from this author. I am going to have book withdrawls after this.

Five Fabulous Stars! This is the second book in the Italian Mafia Romance Duet Series and should be read in order to fully understand. This book picks up where Kingpin left off with Dominic and Alannah's story. Dominic is head of the Mafia and at the age of 27 he tries to prove he is worthy of his title. In true Mafia style there are threats to their lives and Dominic will do everything to keep Alannah safe. Will Dominic be able to keep Alannah safe and give them their happily ever after? This book is filled with suspense, violence, bloodshed and love. The author writes an amazing story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author! Highly recommend it!

This follows on from King Pin so you really need to read #1 to understand where Dominic and Alannah have come from and how their relationship evolved from young children to the young adults they are now including their separation.

This story centred again the Mob power games than romance so it left me a little disappointed personally but I still read and enjoyed the book.

The ending I loved - was perfect for me - it had the romance factor that I wanted to see earlier on during the book. I know they were in the midst of a crime family power struggle but I still kind of wanted more passion between these two. Most of the time I was scared for them both and thinking they are going to be killed.

One part that I found odd within the overall storyline was in relation to Alannah's work issues and when she told him he did nothing about those people - he was a mob boss why did did he not send them a warning? Then I also found it odd they were not living together at the start of this book when he had such an issue with her personal safety, they were separated for so long in book #1 I really thought they would have been living together straight away with her own protection - she is the boss's girl.

If you love a mob mystery with murder, kidnapping, back stabbing and game playing you will enjoy this.

Long Live the King was a great 5 star read.

This was an intense read. We continue on from where Kingpin leaves off.
Alannah and Dominic are moving forward with their relationship.
He’s the kingpin, and I’m his queen. We’re in this Together.

Dominic may be a young boss at the age of 27 but he definitely holds his own. When things start happening Dominic starts to prepare for what may come.

There’s a time to be brave, and a time to be smart.

I don’t want to say anymore because this was a great read and I don’t want to give anything away. This was a thrilling, nail biting, intense read. With of course some hotness between Dominic and Alannah, their commitment to each other is so heart warming. This was a great ending for Dominic and Alannah, well done WS Greer on this great read.

I read this book as an ARC for 2 girls who love books blog and have just reviewed the first book. Book 2 picks up straight away and leaves me questioning all the main characters.

Alannah seems to develop a lot more strength in this book and it would have been great to understand a little more in detail but none the less, it's good to see her resilient and tough streak in the world she has been submerged in.

I was completely surprised by the twist and sting in the line but left wanting to have more in the plot about the Chicago mafia line running alongside it and towards the end.

The details of torture and killings weren't too graphic but realistic and captive. The truth about the characters and their own agenda really worked well in the book.

Dominic's loyalty to Alannah and their love is indestructible which I enjoyed and their strength in union was also a great element and this has remained the thread throughout the books and am glad wasn't lost in the details.

I never saw the ending of the booking coming at all, it moved at such a fast pace which was easy to keep up with and I thought all was concluded until the very last few pages.

I've enjoyed both these books and they are something a little different than I would normally read. Definitely recommended!

Dominic was 27 when he took over. Even though he was young, he felt like he was ready. But not believe that. And to be completely honest after the first book I would have questioned it too. But book 2 has totally proven me wrong. I am now a huge fan of Dominic. He will stop at nothing to keep what is his. His love for Alannah is pure and true, and no one will get to her.

This story was amazing. It has everything I want from a mafia book. It had grit, turmoil, and blood. Dominic spent the last year making this his, and now he is being pushed from all sides. Not to mention someone he has trusted, has turned there back on the family. But Dominic is strong, and people will pay.

If you are looking for a great Mafia book, than this series is for you. It is one hell of a rollercoaster, so be ready for a fun ride.

Here is where I screwed up. I didn’t read too much into the blurb or anything about Long Live The King, so I was unaware I was walking into the middle of a storyline. Sorry, WS. I hope you can forgive me! I will definitely go back and read the first book in this series. However, I did not let my little slip up deter me from reading Long Live The King.

Dominic is all alpha and all boss. Literally. He is the Boss of one of the families in the mafia. He runs his ship like any real boss would. Tight and loyal. Or So he thought. Whenever one of his own try to take him down, he must for his life and the life of his other half Alannah. Alannah and Dominic have known each other for most of their lives and are madly in love with one another. Their chemistry is off the charts. They would die for one another and even kill for one another. Little did they know, that might become their reality though.

Even though I felt as if I was missing half the story in the beginning I still enjoyed this book for the most part. There were a few things I had some issues with but overall I liked what I read. Plus, who doesn’t like reading about a man and his undying devotion to his family and lover.

Long Live the King by WS Greer

Reviewed on behalf of Two Girls Who Love Books

I could not wait for this book and I was so not disappointed. Although we meet back up with Dominic and Alannah ten years later they both still think about the other. They come back together as friends never having lost their childhood friendship and trust. Alannah knows Dominic is in the Mafia but her love for him and the way he treats her is more important than that. They pick up right where they left off with each other without missing a beat consequences be damned. Even though neither of their families, Alannah’s parents and Dominic’s Mafia Family want them to be together they cannot be swayed.

Just when you think there is no way out and they can’t survive then the author completely turns it all around. Those you think you can trust turn out to be the bad guys and the ones you think are the bad guys turns into unlikely allies. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is definitely a must read series but don’t be sad like I was once you finish it, just be glad you were able to be a part of it through these two great books!

Dominic and Allanah are back!

And wow what a ride!

I love that this picked up straight where Kingpin left us hanging. We are left hanging somewhere between betrayal and sabotage! I couldn't wait to dive in and Long Live the King didn't disappoint, not at all. I love that throughout the story we never lose pace or action. That you fall in love with both Allanah and Dominic over and over again. While they are surrounded by uncertainty and not knowing who they can trust, they never lose faith in each other or what they have. There are parts that you won't see coming and will make you want to throw your Kindle across the room but that's only because you so invested in the story and completely consumed with everything happening and the need to find out what is going to happen and why. I love the old world mafia feeling that has carried over. Thathe was one of the huge reasons I fell in love with this series and it really makes both books for me!

As a completely new author for me I have to say I have fallen a little in love with W.S Greer's writing and story telling and I look forward to diving into more from him in the future.
