Well, I liked how it was make believe and Daisy's imaginary friend was really cool. It would be super interesting to have an imaginary friend of my own, I never had one and I would enjoy that. I liked the characters and how they talked. It was super fun to read.

Daisy Dreamer is an imaginative girl. She draws in the journal her grandma gave her with her friends, creating a imaginary creature named Posey. But the picture gets torn when a mean girl tries to grab the journal away. Daisy's friends convince her they think it can be saved with some tape, but then the picture goes missing. But when they find the page, something amazing has happened with Posey. He's become real!

This is a very fast read, but it ends in a horrible cliffhanger! Make sure you have book two on hand when you read this one. The illustrations are very cute, the font is large, and that makes for a very approachable book for beginning readers. I can see many kids falling in love with Posey and enjoy the adventures with Daisy and her friends. I hope in future books that Daisy and her friends learn better how to deal with bullies. They handled it ok, but could have been better. The adventures Daisy has with Posey exploring her house should have readers giggling. A cute, easier chapter book with lots of appeal.

ADORABLE! A fun friend for Dory Fantasmagory and Daisy Dawson. Daisy is a dreamer and a writer-in-training with a magical journal (given by her encouraging author grandmother) in which her ideas come to LIFE. A great pick for emergent chapter book readers with big imaginations. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series. I also want to know more about the author! Is Holly Anna a pseudodym? I like her writing style and humor.

This is a super cute series opener about Daisy Dreamer and her imaginary friend Posey. She LOVES to write and keeps a journal that her grandma gave her with prompts in it. On one of the pages she draws an imaginary creature and then he comes to life. So fun!

Oof, not a fan. Fun premise, but the “obviously” repetition is just obnoxious. The mean girls were equally so. Not sure if we’ll read more of this series.

Daisy Dreamer and the Totally True Imaginary Friend is the first in an illustrated chapter book series by Holly Anna. Daisy is a dreamer. The book opens with her reluctantly-oh-so-reluctantly waking up (so she can go to school). Within a few pages, I knew Daisy and I might just have been kindred spirits (as kids anyway).

Quote: "If I can't stay in bed, then I'll bring my bed with me!" I hide under my blanket and walk slowly down the hall. My blanket is actually a magical robe that makes me invisible. Now I can sleep and no one will see me."

In this first adventure, Daisy doodles a drawing and that doodle comes to life. Posey is the "totally true imaginary friend" that has sprung to life. The book ends with Posey promising much adventure...

I liked this one. I absolutely loved the beginning. I enjoyed the rest of the novel but perhaps not so much as those first few pages. Still overall, it was a fun and entertaining read.

Daisy has loving parents, a fantastic grandma she calls Upsy (Upsy-Daisy :)), and good friends. She has a great imagination, too, which comes in handy when Upsy gives her a journal for her stories, complete with prompts for stories on some pages. Daisy finds a prompt and draws a picture of her imaginary friend, Posey. When Posey comes to life, Daisy has a new friend and the start of a series sure to entertain elementary kids who celebrate imagination. Enjoy!

This book was the perfect little package, just the sort of chapter book custom-made for its target age. I loved Daisy as a main character and the accompanying illustrations added charm and life to the text. The villain, the trials of the main character, and the world they live in didn't have many surprises, but at the rate girls of this age devour books, I hardly count those as detriments. Thoroughly adorable.

I wanted to read this because I am trying to familiarize myself with more books for emergent readers. I think this book will appeal to readers ages 5-9 as it suggests on the back cover. I really appreciated the robust vocabulary in the book. It's rather picturesque at times - the mom swirls on her scarf, Daisy cruises on her skateboard, Jasmine's curly dark ringlets dust the top of the (sliding board) tube. There are several kids that I think would enjoy this series.

I really enjoyed Daisy Dreamer and the Totally True Imaginary Friend. My emerging readers will feel really comfortable with the vocabulary, illustrations, characters and plot of this engaging chapter book. I'm in love with Posey (the imaginary friend) and can't wait to read more about his adventures.

Daisy is a bright young girl with two best friends, an enemy, and a vivid imagination. One day when writing and illustrating a story the mean girl in class rips it from her notebook. Daisy is upset to have lost it until the most magical thing happens. Ends on a cliffhanger as Daisy is about to visit an imaginary world.

Daisy Dreamer drifts dreamily through life day dreaming and drawing whilst just wandering around basically and annoying the heck out of adults but then she creates an imaginary drawing friend who of course is real, etc. First in a surprising amount of books in a series about her subsequent adventures in dream real land, or something.

Cute story about a girl named Daisy who doodles and interacts with an imaginary friend. My 7 year old really enjoyed this book (she, too, loves to doodle!) and can't wait to read the next one in the series! Good first chapter book for 1st/2nd grade and reluctant readers as there are lots of pictures.

I think this was a cute idea for a story, about a girl and her doodle coming to life. However, I wish Daisy had not lied to her mom twice in the book. There was no resolution of the lies (at least in this book), her mom doesn’t find out, she doesn’t get in trouble or realize she shouldn’t have lied.

For those with sensitive readers, there are several references to monsters.

Hm. I loved the beginning, in which Daisy wants to stay in her dream (like me) and wants to take her bed with her if she has to get up (like my son when he was little) and plays 'blanket monster' (ditto). But I don't like mean girls in, what, 2nd grade. And I'm not sure of a real imaginary friend... but this ends on a cliffhanger so I'll have to read at least one more book in the series.

Daisy has a great imagination, which is fostered by her family. She and her friends invent a magical creature named Posey who comes to life and causes a bit of mayhem. Next book is a continuation, so you probably need to read in order.

I don’t like the enemy situation. Feels so intense!

I also don’t appreciate how it ends in the middle of a situation as a tease for the next book.

I would have liked this book to wrap up nicer -feels like you’re being tricked into having to pick up the next one.

My 5.5 year old really enjoyed this series about a girl with a wacky imaginary friend and incorporated the idea of a door to imaginary land into her play which was a lot of fun. Seems like a sweet if a bit silly series with some intentional nods to diversity in the character mix
