Cassie Tyler’s first grade class visits the Animal Inn in this third zany novel in a brand-new chapter book series where the fur—and fun—flies at an animal spa and hotel.
The Animal Inn is an all-inclusive pet resort/hotel/center/spa for animals from dogs to rabbits, cats to ducks, parrots to lizards. From doggie and kitty daycare, to grooming, and group play—you name it, and the Animal Inn has it.
The Inn is run by the Tyler family along with their pets Leopold, the Macaw; Fuzzy and Furry, the gerbils; dogs Dash and Coco; felines Shadow and Whiskers; and a rollicking horde of animal visitors.
Cassie Tyler’s first grade class is so excited to take a field trip to Animal Inn for a meet and greet. And it’s a furry good time for all—even for the newest classmate, a goldfish named Blub!
Jacobs, Paul Dubois and Jennifer Swender The Bow-wow Bus (Animal Inn #3). 112 pages. CHAPTER BOOK. Illustrated by Stephanie Laberis. Aladdin (Simon & Schuster), 2017. $5.99. Content: G.
This book is told from the perspective of Coco, a Labrador retriever who lives at the Animal Inn. The Inn is a spa and animal hotel run by the Tyler family that is the permanent home of Coco and six other pets. In this book, Cassie Tyler’s first grade class comes to visit the Inn. One of the animals at the Inn is getting donated to her class, which has all the pets worried.
Although this is book number three in the series, I wasn’t lost not having read any of the previous books. The book consists of 14 short chapters and an epilogue. Almost every chapter has an illustration to accompany it. Although I wasn’t wowed by this book, it will likely appeal to young, animal lovers.
