Sinnergog

Rate this book
Sacrifice wears many masks. In the claustrophobic walls of the Sinnergog untold horrors splatter the walls. It was created as a sanctuary for those possessed by Satan, the last refuge for exorcism. Named after a temple to worship god, the only thing worshiped here is trauma.

Christopher Ward: It occurred to me that the manifestation of God among mankind was unique in itself. Did He know he was god? Was he always different? Is that why I was persecuted, because Satan never rests and temptation is a rope bridge across the character chasm?

It took me years to understand I am the chosen one, and it is my legacy, my only purpose, to rid this world of evil. I’ve come for the lost, for the sinners, I am a reaper. A reaper is not death, it is mercy, it is love, it is compassion. So I taught my firstborn son to show mercy, I taught him to give sinners a chance to repent, I taught him that Eve can’t help herself. If it’s forbidden the female will crave it, and she’ll drag good men down with her into her cesspit of cunning evil. Me and my kind stand between her and good men.

We are the intervention, we are divinity and nothing can stop this. Satan has no power here, I am all powerful.

Victor Ward: knows his father, the Alpha who becomes god, who is so narcissistic and deranged he cannot tell fiction from fantasy - must be stopped. Victor spent his life in service to his father’s cult, but now the veil has lifted from his sight and he knows good from evil, he knows his father is the biggest crime lord of our time, and yet Christopher cannot recognize that he is the personification of the very thing he claims to thwart.

There is only one man who can stop god. His son. Will he die for our sins? Will they follow the script? Or will Victor become the Lucifer of our time? Victor is ostracized from his Eden, and it’s time for payback. The hunt is on. Their egos have grown, they know how to make bodies disappear, they know how to enslave the powerful with drugs and blackmail, and this time the massacre will not end until the father and the son become one, or one destroys the other.

Once, Christ threw men out of the temple, because they desecrated it. Now Victor must exorcise Christ from the temple, because now Christ-opher is the one who destroys all that is holy.

This is the final novel in the Darkroom Saga. Now we learn the origins of pain, and how it perpetrates the legacy for seven generations.

(The Darkroom Saga should be read in order. These books are horror. Dark at its highest level. Reader discretion is advised.)

What makes the monster. This was gut-wrenching, soul-eating devastation. I'm at a loss right now. I feel chewed up and spit out.

In order to get the end, you need to know the beginning. My stomach turns as I write this. This was the two sides of a coin. I'm battling with my conflicted thoughts. Christopher Ward is the 'god' of nightmares, he needs to be eliminated, yet I'm in agony over what he went through. How dare I feel bad for this monster? Poppet has reached in and played with my mind. Now that the past is revealed. Now that the veil has been lifted. The apocalypse will begin.

Okay

This story was very well written. The story of Christopher and the life he lived being abused by his father was at times unbearable to read. It was heart-wrenching to say the least but very graphically real.

I enjoyed it till the last chapters of the book. The story twisted abruptly and it got really weird. Overall I enjoyed the book but the ending put me off of reading the next in this series.

“There’s a graveyard out back, where most kids have a garden swing.”

Wow…

I don’t even know what to say. Going into this, I did not know what to expect. I didn’t realize that this was part of a series until I opened it, and I now plan on reading each and every installment.
This story is magnificently written. I felt everything that Christ felt. My heart hurt for him, and so many times my vision would blur as a result from the tears.

I cannot imagine how horrible a life Chris lived, and his undeniable love for Amy (AKA his mom) was beautiful and heart-wrenching. I couldn’t lose faith in him, because regardless of his horrible life, and the things he was subjected to – he had so much heart, and I could practically taste this kid’s determination.

“Time is essential, it’s the difference between destroying life or nurturing it. It’s the difference between disfiguring a mind or keeping it whole and sane.”

This is a book that will surely stick with me, and I think it’s because of the fact that Poppet didn’t hold back. She wasn’t afraid to dig into something so deep and disturbing – it leaves you feeling like you witnessed something that you shouldn’t have. It seemed so private, yet I experienced everything with Christ.

You want to look away, but you can’t. You want to suffer with him.

There was one point in the book – Christ's graduation day, where goosebumps spread across my skin, and all I could do was sit back, and whisper, “Wow.”

While I was a bit lost in the end, I know it’s because I’ve not read the other books in this series.
I am blown away. Phenomenal job, Poppet! I cannot wait to devour this series in its entirety.

5 STARS!

This is the DarkRoom saga Book 6 in all its glory. This is a tremendous series ,every book adding a piece to the demented puzzle that is the *Ward* family. This installment soothes the itch in your brain that asks "Why?"and "How?"
I dare say,so many things make sense now, I can honestly say," I get it". As the saying goes "Two wrongs don't make a right" but man,if ever there was a reason to turn out warped,Christopher Ward has it,in spades.
My heart bled ,was shredded to pieces for the little boy who was crushed physically, emotionally and spiritually ,by the person who is supposed to nurture and protect him. I cried uncontrollably for the little boy whose perception is now warped beyond repair, whose life was doomed the day he was born and for all those who will encounter him as an adult.
Gripping, mind blowing, gut wrenching and emotionally crippling, those are the emotions I felt reading this book. I also felt love, hope and satisfaction for the little boy and the teenage Christopher.
Sometimes, knowing about a persons upbringing gives you insight into their behavior,it never excuses abominable actions, but it explains so much. This book is the explanation we all longed for, thank you and brava, for I know, this journey was not an easy one,but for we ,your readers,it was thoroughly satisfying.

When I wrote my review for Bratva, book 5 in the Darkroom Saga, this is what I said:
"I hope the final installment brings everything together with the Alpha, Victor, the Sinnergog, and all the dirty angels we've met. I have high hopes."
I have mad respect for Poppet's writing, and I'm a huge fan of the Darkroom Saga, but I was disappointed with Sinnergog, mainly the decision to break it into two parts, especially when part one answered none of the questions I anticipated book 6 would cover.
The entirety of Sinnergog Part 1 is the background story of Christ-opher. It was a heartbreaking tale that was difficult to read.
It was well-written, as all of Poppet's books are...it just wasn't for me. As much as I love dark themes, the main topic is one of my few hard limits, and it was described in such detail, it just couldn't be ignored.

This is book 6 in the Darkroom Saga, I strongly suggest reading them all in order.

I need a minute here...

In the beginning there was God. We go back to the beginning and we find God.
I cried, I cried a whole hell of a lot.

I don't know how to review this book, because I cant put words to my feelings. I will come back and make this coherent later. I'm still crying now.

*****

Okay, Christopher Ward, I have had so many questions right from the very start and now I finally understand.
In true Poppet form I felt every single blow, physical and emotional and yet I sit here now and in a way I can justify who and what he became, because of how it happened. Thank you Poppet for answering what I know were very hard questions. The imagery in the writing is so vivid that I felt like I was there in the closet and the shallow grave with him and I loved it. You broke my heart - you better mend it again!

I've been sitting here writing and erasing because I haven't the words strong enough to make a reader feel what I need them to.
How do I make you feel the moment you take a breath and hold it?
How do I make you feel the moment before your tears fall?
This book...THIS BOOK...by all the gods...IT ROCKED MY FOUNDATIONS!!!
It was hard to read, not due to words but content. I sucked in breath at times, I cried for justice, I sobbed for the broken, I smiled at the knowledge of the beginning...I felt so much then too much!! With my heart in my hands, in teeny tiny pieces, I kept on until I found understanding.
So many questions answered...so much pain endured...just so much!!!
I could tell you all to read this and some will be squeamish after but there is a reason for the brutality, for the abuses rendered. Do not read this if you haven't read the ones that come before. You may understand but you will not get the story that will forever go into the best of the best.
I will not tell you anything specific for I never divulge what you should take the time to enjoy.
Poppet, you just solidified my want to lock you in my basement until I know every dark corner of your mind, every secret cavern.

Sinnergog is the kind of story that is told in deep, dark details that makes you feel as though you were there experiencing the darkness that is inherently intertwined the main character. Poppet tells the story in such a way it feels like I am reliving a deep, dark past I tried to forget and yet she brings it back to the surface rehashing pain that I never experienced.

This is the 6th book of the Darkroom series and it follows the pattern that the Darkroom is known for. Deeply dark, realistic fiction that forces us to question religion, society, and most importantly, ourselves.

I needed to distance myself after reading Sinnergog. The powerful emotions this work elicited had me scrambling for cover. The brilliance of a story that evokes that type of powerful emotion in a reader can never be underestimated.
Author Poppet takes your soul into her hands with her writing; she strips you to the bone, leaving you nowhere to hide. Such is the depth of perception and empathy she holds. This author possesses that uncanny knack of gutting a reader, of carving the presence of the Characters into your psyche. You may well squirm in discomfort ... yet, still you read on. At times, you read with the healing tears falling, and then with anger and denial at a soul so tortured by the inhumanity of his existence that his mind is forever altered, damaged and cancerous in its depths of destructive power.
Understanding seeps through you, into your veins it flows, yet, not suddenly; ... the author grants no reprieve for the feint-hearted reader. The understanding arrives in a gradual horrific dawning, a crystal and pristine knowledge of what has gone before, and what must surely come.
She leaves you deprived of the ability to breathe; deprived of that protective refusal to acknowledge man's inhumanity to man.
Read this. Do not deny yourself a journey that will remain in your psyche long after closing the final page...and then, wait, knowing that more is yet to come.
This book and the others in the Darkroom series echo on. It will be long remembered as a truly classic series.

This is brilliant, heart-wrenching, soul-destroying, emotional and in-your-face reading. As ever, Poppet has delivered, and this instalment in the Darkroom series is excellent and absolutely adds to the entire series, while being utterly fantastic on its own also.

I really don’t want to go into detail, for that will spoil it. Read it yourself! Actually, read all the Darkroom novels if you haven’t already! Delve into the darkness and discover the horror that roils in souls, how beliefs can alter destiny and how the terror of childhood can shape evil.

This is dark, but it is so well written and so truthful, you cannot stop reading. Brilliant!

Sinnergog is the last book in the Dark room Saga. And oh boy is it good it kept me on the edge of my seat we finally have answers to things I had questioned throughout the series. I can now say I kind of understand why Christopher turned into the evil twisted man he did.

A lot of stuff makes more sense. I actually hurt for him, felt like crawling into the book just to hold him, this book is heart breaking to go through what he did as a child by one who should have protected him.

Knowing what he went through as a child he can kind off understand why he is f*ckup..

Christopher believes he can rid the world of such evil …. this series has been a great rollercoaster of a ride … if you have read this series from the start you don’t want to miss out on this one. Poppet has done it again another amazing read.

I really enjoy Poppets writing and have read a few of her books but to me this series is my all time Favorite from her and I really can't wait for more from her.

Absolutely Brilliant!! I loved this series from the start. This book brings it all together. It is astounding to see the story at its inception and to view it from a different perspective.

Poppet puts it all out on the page, it's complex, it's violent, it's passionate, and it's visceral!! This first part was a temptation, a glance at what is to come. I prophesize that this complete book will divulge information of grandiose proportions. I look forward to reading the second part to this chart topping masterpiec

I am a huge fan of this Saga and could not wait to start this book. This is book 6 and they should be read in order. And PLEASE PLEASE READ THE WARRING. If very dark horror is not your cup a tea this series is not for you.

OK how to describe this book without giving anything away. Its a heartbreaking, in your face roller coaster ride of emotions.
I went through every emotion know to man reading the story of Christopher Ward. Now we have the back story as to how Christopher became the monster that he is. Although noting can excuse his behavior at least we find out how he became that way, and yes it is heartbreaking.

From the first line Poppet pulls you into the story and you feel every thing her charters do. That is something she does with every book she writes, so you are connected with everyone so closely you are left completely drained by the end.

WoW ~ Sinnergog wrecked my mind I wanted answers and Poppet gave them to me straight no boundaries to support me through this book.

Christ (Christopher) was dealt the worse hand from the very beginning, abused, used and brain washed. It looked like he was finally turning his life around and things were coming good but the deep thoughts and mind set implanted were too strong and although history seemed to be repeating it's self Christ believes he was teaching Victor the right ways to control all evil.

Must read the whole series to fully understand the story line.

Poppet is an amazing author and delivers a twisted tale in every book

I liked this book, it explains some background about Vengeance`s father. I will have to read them all to get the full picture. I really liked Christopher until he distorted religion after that I was hoping someone would take him out. All in all a good read. Dark for some people but a good read.
