Colt Ryder - the infamous and legendary Thousand Dollar Man - arrives in the city of Boston, and soon finds himself up his neck in trouble.
Hiring himself out at a thousand dollars a time for the jobs nobody else can do, Ryder is asked to protect a family from the unwanted attentions of the Russian Mafia.
But as he delves deeper into the affair, he discovers that there's more to the situation than he first thought; not only does he have to deal with corrupt cops and crooked politicians, but he also finds himself involved in a gang war between the Irish Mob and the Russian Mafia that threatens to turn the entire city into a bloody battleground.
With his back against the wall and enemies all around him - and only his faithful canine companion Kane by his side - can the Thousand Dollar Man survive his greatest challenge yet?
THE THOUSAND DOLLAR CONTRACT is the fourth novel in the Colt Ryder series from bestselling author J.T. Brannan, and is another compulsive page-turner that will have you on the edge of your seat!
I generally see books described as a "roller coaster ride" but this is the first time I have been able to apply that tag line to a series.
Now with four books in the series and having read them all, I finally can. The first two books, while action packed in their own rights, didn't hold a candle to the third book in both the ferocity and amount of action so, naturally I expected this book to be more subtle but I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead, it takes the series to a whole new level of a "one man army".
As in real life, Boston is the scene of some terroristic attacks but this time it's the Russians. They are moving in on historically Irish territory, looking to expand their influence and illicit trades to new territories.
Coming off his latest adventure Colt was just looking to lay low in the hopes that some of the heat may dissipate. Unfortunately, fate has other plans for Mr. Ryder and when he walks into a small Boston cafe to meet his latest contract he couldn't possibly know that it would not only make his life infinitely more complicated but change the face of Boston and the mobs for years to come.
I can say with some confidence that is is one of, if not the, most action packed book I've read and one look at my review list, will verify that is saying something.
That should have you either clicking the buy button or move on so as to not upset your delicate tummy.
In the immortal words of R. Lee Ermey: "It's not just a job, it's a f*ing adventure! If you don't know who that is then I feel sorry for your sheltered life.
In traditional fashion, we get a story that's filled with all the adrenaline you can handle, along with a really good story. This story finds Colt running up against the Russian Bratva and its just crazy good. You cheer for And Colt to come out on top,but I think Kane is star as well Just overall good and quite exciting!
Wow what an amazing series! This story really keeps you on edge right away. How do you go against such a powerful group that Colt takes on and I love Kane! They make sure to help those that can't but oh the trouble that goes on. I can't wait to start the next story.
Every book in the Colt and Kane series features an unusual plot — no run-of-the-mill, predictable story lines. This is another caper that’s fresh and captures the imagination.
The Thousand Dollar Contract: Colt Ryder and Kane by J.T. Brannan
Colt and Kane have arrived in Boston. This contract gets them both involved with the Russian mob and unknowingly with the old Irish mob. The action is heated, fast, dangerous and Kane is injured as well as Colt before everything comes to a head. If you've followed Colt's exploits before, you'll find this one to be among the best. Thanks for another great read.
