There's more to life than lessons at Malory Towers, Enid Blyton's best-loved boarding school series. This fantastic bumper collection contains Malory Towers books 10-12, with a brand-new cover illustrated by Pippa Curnick.
Fun and Games It's competition time at Malory Towers and this term there's a tennis tournament and a music prize to be won! Tensions are running high, with games captain June and orchestra leader Millicent willing to do anything to succeed. But the girls have more to worry about when belongings start disappearing from dorms . . .
Secrets Mischievous Daffy loves playing tricks, but when she goes too far, there are a few surprises in store . . . Meanwhile, there's something familiar about new pupil Alice. The girls are certain they've met her before - could she be hiding a secret?
Goodbye Head Girl Felicity Rivers can hardly believe it's nearly time to leave her beloved school. The sixth-formers are hoping for a restful final term but headmistress Miss Grayling has other ideas - and so does an old pupil who makes a surprising return. It is not a great success. Can Felicity solve the problem, with some help from a few other familiar faces?
Between 1946 and 1951, Enid Blyton wrote six novels set at Malory Towers. Books 7-12 are authorised sequels of the series written by Pamela Cox in 2009 and focus on the adventures of Felicity Rivers, Susan Blake, and June Johns. This collection features the original stories and is unillustrated.
Well, apparently these are the last books. I really like the last one where they had Gwen back as well as the first generation (Darrell & friends). Good ending to a series that has a special place in my childhood and got me into a reader I am now.
How lovely to end the Melody Towers stories with the return, and success, of Gwendoline Lacey. The one terrible act of bullying I carried with me, from childhood, to adulthood was Gwen's spiteful pen stamping and the telltale smear of ink! What a satisfying bringing together of the first, and last, Mallory Towers stories.
At 80yrs old this month I have so enjoyed this book and the rest of the series. It is with great sadness that I say farewell to Darrell, Felicity and all their friends. Thank you Enid Blyton.
The books were simply marvellous, my daughter loved them as well as I did enjoy to read them. The stories are fun and teach girls important lessons, my favourite series for girls.
This the last collection. June and Millicent fight for players, and Gwen comes back to make amends. It's filled with drama and the end is a little sad because they all leave Malory towers but the book overall is very nice.
Niceeeee...was interesting but I hated the the part where daffy hope got into trouble....I wish she was a sensible jolly character like sally or Darell instead of an imp she is
Okay, so I don’t really think the books by Pamela Cox are really good. First, it’s weird how she makes the problem of the story OUTSIDE the main place. ⚠️Spoilers Now ⚠️ Like, about the case of Clarissa and Bill, it was outside Malory Towers. And the girls had to go to solve it - like what?? If there was a crime or mystery or robbery outside near their school, they didn’t have to solve it. I know they’re best friends, but they should’ve left it to the police. However, the only best part Pamela Cox has written is when she made the old girls’ reunion. I enjoyed it. But that was it. Most of it makes me confused, and it’s a copycat.
Like, the characters. June is Alicia. Felicity is Darrell. Nora is Irene. Freddie is Betty. Julie and Lucy are Bill and Clarissa. Why can’t these authors make something more interesting to put into a story? It so dull and original, when they can’t make anything sound or look good. Some interesting parts, though. It’s enjoyable, but doesn’t make much sense… but I still like it a bit.
I didn’t want to like them Because they weren’t Blyton They are as good and better yes because of Enid Blyton but wow I cried and grinned and love them Thanks
It is not easy to carry forward the writing of Enid Blyton. Pamela has done a good work. The last 3 terms give a nice closure to the story. Plots are little more deeper (ethically and emotional backgrounds) when compared to these written by Enid Blyton, yet the book scores.
I loved the whole Malory Towers series and wish it never had to end. Reading it makes me wish I could've attended boarding school myself and had all these interesting moments. It is a series that I would read to my future children if I have any.
Oh.. beautiful.. mesmirising.. it's like a whole journey you go through and it turns into your fandom..just an amazing book.. do read.. for everyone.. read read read
