Born in Brazil on Lagoa (Witches Island), he came to the United States in his early teens. As a writer, he focuses on the paranormal and occult, adding a weird spin all his own to the Urban Dark Fantasy genre.

I just really enjoy writing and the urban dark fantasy genre lets me come up with some great stories.

This just about sums everything up. Plot holes, basic absence of common sense, a character change for Caine and less action and violence when compared with the other books in the series. But its still an enjoyable read. Not inspiring, and I believe it really lets the series down, but enjoyable none the less. I would not recommend this book to anyone though. If you are reading the series you will want to read it, but only for that reason.

If you are already a Demon Lord series fan you will of course "like" this. There is less action than the previous books, and as ghosts are the primary antagonist there are not many battle scenes. Caine is a lot less awesome, his abilities seem lame when compared to the previous books. If it was a standalone book I would say it’s quite good and I enjoyed it, which is true. But as book 6 in the Demon Lord series it is seriously lacking the power and punch that all 5 of its predecessors had in spades. It seems toned down a lot, Caine less effective, less deadly, less awesome, and far far less awe inspiring even to his own demons from within his own demon clan. It’s so out of character from the previous books, plus, come on he's the Demon Lord, the king of the Demon clan would his underlings really be so dismissive of him? The end fight of the book is pretty awesome, but also pretty short and sweet. And the glaring plot holes and/or inconsistences really really grate on the nerves. There is of course the usual problems with spelling, and grammatical errors of all the series which makes one think none of the books had any proof reading, but this has never put me off before and doesn’t now

Also whilst I'm complaining "Silver Crown King (Demon Lord Book 5) has at the end an excerpt from the "NEXT" Demon lord book. Quote "coming in 2016 Indigo Tempest Rider by Morgan Blayde" what happened to this book? The excerpt showed so much amazing promise, I wanted so much to read the rest of the story that the excerpt hinted at. Instead we got this replacement, that was like a weak watered down flop by comparison.

The plot:-

Ghosts on a reality Celebrity TV ghost hunters show - The Ghosts are not wanted so they hire Caine. (What? Why would they want to hire someone to get rid of ghosts on a TV show that's looking for ghosts? Ok later it turns out its really to film Caine, but as an opening premise…. what? And why on earth isn't it questioned by Caine or his surrogate father, “the Old Man”?) So for no reason that's ever explained ghost balls of light turn up and circle the heads of anyone trying to have sex? - That's never explored or explained, nor is why pretty lights prevents sex. But once Caine turns up with two apparent hapless Demons who have zero respect for him and are totally oblivious to his powers, capabilities, or how dangerous he is. (after all he's only their Demon Lord and Master, and half Golden Dragon but they disparage him and even indirectly threaten him without consequence, seemingly to consider him inferior - what? ...... At least later a tech Demon partially clues one of them in) Trouble is for most of the book Caine does seem ineffective and lacking menace so you can understand their opinion I suppose, but then he is NOT the Caine Deathwalker of the previous books. Oh he has one or two moments, but they are so few in this book, and often underwhelming. So any how after Caine turns up we then get a baby Nagi ghost (a Nagi is half man half snake)

***SPOILERS***

- So now the baby Nagi ghost, which I assume decided to show up after they saw its corpse.... not disturbed, saw it across the room with other bones. Suddenly this ghost can possess people and transform them into a Nagi if they are in contact with a necklace that mysteriously turns up part way through the plot, and I should point out its not explained how it was used for the first possession. Then Caine dreams of the past, where some teenage girls offer up another teenage girl for sex with a demon and a Nagi shows up. (Theirs are the apparent corpses found under the chapel, one assumes killed by the Nagi, but this does not explain the Nagi child ghost. So for it to work the Nagi impregnated the girl, she gave instantaneous birth and the Nagi killed all the girls plus the Nagi baby, but it is still seeking its Dad…. This plot does not make sense to me and is quickly ignored within the book.) So in the dream is a Nagi who poison's Caine from within the dream. Its suggested that the Nagi lives this dream often giving it a connection to the dream Caine is having, hence why he can poison Caine in a dream. However he's a visiting Nagi from Africa - so how can he have visited this dream often? ….. The Nagi is defeated but runs away to lick his wounds. Caine becomes virtually powerless due to the poisoning. The baby Nagi ghost then consumes the other ghosts to get ubber ghost powers and later becomes able to resurrect a dead Nagi becoming a Nagi revenant. So far nothing of significance, nothing that feels really threatening, happens. Except maybe a female demon lesbian who steals Caines latest sex partner, having literally only just watched Caine have sex with her, after all why would you think she would be worried about Caine or the fact that he is her Demon Lord? Add to that is Caine’s prowess that underwhelming that his latest conquest would immediately have lesbian sex with a stranger? So a bit later, they ambush the revenant Nagi on the roof by a massive mystical magical symbol that is a gateway to the goddess of the Nagi. Oops… that’s a bit silly….its explained away as Caine being off his game due to being poisoned. (which effects his magic not his thinking or reasoning but hey, why follow basic logic here) so he did not at first realise how dangerous that could be, even though they hammer home over and over that the Goddess could be regenerated/ re birthed into the world via this symbol, (repeated no doubt just in case the reader missed the significance the first 10 times they mentioned it) Of course once it’s too late it instantly comes to mind so it can be explained to the reader. However, this overlooks that the Old Man is with him, the same person who informed him of the danger of the symbol that it could be a gateway and that it needs destroying as a matter of urgency. But apparently he forgot as well, because he totally ignores it and seems oblivious to the danger now. So now you get an uninspiring drawn out, daft battle with a magical symbol cast in bronze. - It’s never explained how it came to life or why it would think to try and run away, or to later attack people. You may think the Goddess on the other side is responsible, but after a ridiculous pause to re-emphasise some plot points and explain away other daft points, Caine falls through into the Goddess’s dimension and she’s no where near the gateway, and seemingly ignoring or oblivious to the gateway. This finally leads to the best fight of the book, but only after they have eaten Caine’s leg!

Oh and throughout is an amazingly gifted Seer who to be honest could have chimed in and avoided all the hassle and danger. There is not really a reason why she didn't except one part where she states this to be the best possible future of bad futures. No. Simply telling Caine to destroy the mystical symbol before the Nagi showed up, would have destroyed the gateway to the Nagi goddess and avoided all the drama. Then there would have just been ghosts to deal with.

Horrible book. Too much focus on the leads "dragon sized" unit. I wanted urban fantasy not some geek fueled soft core porn. I didn't mind other books but this one had a different feel to it; like it was written by someone not totally familiar with the characters. I'll read book 7 because I am a completionist but I'm hoping it's better than this 12 year old boy nerd fantasy.

Awesome Turning Point

Tons of action, magic, humor, and snark: what more would you want from a book in this series? Ok: there’s mystery, hilarity, honor, revenge, justice, and reality tv getting screwed over (no, really). We also have a certain demon lord becoming something... more. Definitely recommended (17+)!

Awesome as Hell

Caine Deathwalker, Dragon Lord, Demon Lord and over all Bad arse is at it again... pulled in to a plan to get huge ratings by a TV show manager, Caine believes he is there to hunt ghosts. The truth is his reputation precedes him. Now he does battle with a pack of angry ghosts, a Naga Goddess and causes his usual chaos.

I found that Morgan Blayde has kept the continuity of the his Demon Lord series going perfectly. Full of fun, sex and all things that make Caine's life busy and hellish.
I personally loved it. I have enjoyed the series and found that though this may not be everyone's cup of tea it certainly will make you smile and laugh in some places, eye roll in others but essentially you will find adventure, mayhem and pretty much everything you can think of from a Dragon Lord and leader of a Demon Clan. If you are unsure about reading this series.
I say go on take a chance and I bet you will find yourself really getting sucked in to the story as I did. A damn good read and well deserving of a 5 star review.

Another amusing addition to the Caine Deathwalker series.

There were still several issues and honestly by now the readers know how Caine pays for the activation of his tattoos as well as what he is, there's really no need to mention that pain is the price and that he's not human every single time he powers up one of his tattoos...

Still it's an entertaining series and an intriguing main hero (anti-hero?) and I'll be reading the next one as well and probably the one after that too.

I was definitely not disappointed by this latest book in the Demon Lord series. what i loved most about this book besides the regular and much loved, sex, drinking and violence is the character development. in this book we can see Caine grow as a character and see a bit of his past to see what made him the man he is, and the ending was great!!! I can`t wait to see the next book and find-out what happens.

FINALLY a proofreader was hired! The annoying typos's, grammar, and other errors have been mostly taken care of and the story can shine through.

The maturation of the main character is in full evidence and the story arc continues in unpredictable directions yet never fails to entertain.

A great read once again.

Morgan blayde doesn't disappoint. You know you're going to get some good reading. Some formatting errors and a few typos, but not as many as most books. An excellent addition to the series.

Enjoyed the book immensely although the writing style seemed different somehow; the book also felt shorter than the previous ones.
