In a race against time, it's Ray Luck against the world!
When Ray Luck - a top cyber security expert - accidentally stumbles upon a devastating secret while surfing the web, he knows immediately he is in way above his head and soon he is being hunted by both Mossad and the British Security Services.

Alone, desperate, with only three days to live, Ray is a man with not one, but several missions: to save the life of his girlfriend who has been kidnapped by the security services; to prevent a terrorist cyber attack destroying London; to save the Middle East peace process; and to bring one of the most powerful men in the world to justice for the savage killing of an apparently innocent woman, a murder certain powerful people in the British Government are determined to cover up at all costs.

Only Ray can stop them all.

But as the clock starts to tick, he discovers that nothing is as it seems. Who is the real enemy? And who can he trust? Unless he finds out soon, will Ray’s luck finally run out?

Find out for yourself!

Written by a cyber security expert, this thriller will make you think twice about our modern world and using the internet. By the time you've finished the book, whenever you next watch television, you'll wonder just who is watching you! It's called 'tele-vision'. Now you'll understand why!

Murder, mystery, cyber crime, espionage, conspiracy, a terrorist plot, romance, page-turning, nail-biting adventure... this book has got it all.

Ian C.P. Irvine

Ian Irvine was brought up in Scotland, and studied Physics for far too many years, before travelling the world working for high-technology companies. Ian has spent a career helping build the internet and delivering its benefits to users throughout the world,...as well as helping to bring up a family. Ian enjoys writing, painting and composing in his spare time. His particular joy is found in taking scientific fact and creating a thrilling story around it in such a way that readers learn science whilst enjoying the thrill of the ride. It is Ian's hope that everyone who reads an I.C.P.Irvine novel will come away learning something interesting that they would never otherwise have found an interest in. Never Science fiction. Always science fact. With a twist.

The first of Ian's novels is a Genetic Conspiracy Thriller which explores the world of Stem Cell Research and encourages us all to ask some very searching questions about the advances that science is making, and how much we, or others, should let it affect society. A contemporary adventure, "The Orlando File" takes the reader around the world and back, and creates a unique moral dilemma that the reader cannot help but get embroiled in: at the end, the reader must ask themself, what would they do in that situation?

His second novel "The Crown of Thorns" explores the power of genetics, explores the questions that the potential to clone humans will raise, and asks the ultimate question...what would happen if a scientist found a way to clone Jesus Christ?

Ian's third novel "London 2012 : What If?" departs from the world of genetics and explores an interesting possibility that Quantum Physics raises:the possibility for parallel worlds to exist alongside each other...and what would happen if a man who wondered what other types of lives he could be living had he made other choices, where unexpectedly to step from one world into another parallel world. "What If" is also an interesting voyage through human emotions, and many readers will find themselves asking themselves similar questions that the lead character does as they read the book. As with both "The Crown of Thorns" and "The Orlando File", at the end of the book the reader is left thinking...and different readers may take away different views on how the novels did, or should have ended... It is hoped that in this way, the novels will make themselves ideal subjects for reading clubs or book clubs.

Ian hopes that if you honour him by spending the time reading one his novels, that you will find it a positive experience, and enjoy it. He also invites you to email him and let him know if you did or did not enjoy the novel. And if you did, what were your favourite parts?

Happy Reading!

Highly recommended book

Wow! I enjoyed this tense thriller, brilliantly written. Author has definitely researched well and knows his stuff,I couldn't put it down, can't wait to read another one by this author. Also really nice to have a kindle book that's as long as a hardback rather than the short novels you tend to have on kindle books, brilliant stuff!

I can tell right now that Mr Irvine will be my next favorite author. Cannot believe that I haven't read his books until now. Usually I don't give someone 5 stars until they amaze me. But, this book certainly deserve 5 stars because I really really love it and it was great book.

The story was a little too unreal though. Still you have to suspense your disbelieve when you read novel. That's why it called fiction. The story really grip you from the start until the end. It moves with constant speedy. It reminds you what makes good thriller. Good chars, good plots, and good ending. But if you insist what this story still lack, maybe it was not provoking and not suspenseful enough. I can understand that some people prefer provoking or suspenseful story. But for me personally, I prefer this way. Story is just story anyway. It should not make you feel too deeply or doing it in exaggerating way. I really recommend this book for people who want to read not too light and not too heavy thriller but engaging one. Anyway, cannot wait to read Mr. Irvine other book.

My ratings : 5 of 5

Turned out to be a real page turner

If you are a real cyber geek you'll really like this book. I'm not so I got a little impatient with all the cyber stuff that took up a lot of this book (even though I was fascinated with what I read about the capabilities of cyber hackers, even afraid.) However, the suspense was unbelievable and the twists and turns were amazing. Two people totally unknown to each other become entwined due to the strangest circumstances that threatens both their lives and to top it all off when one of the circumstances is resolved a whole new set of life threatening circumstances arises and it goes on that way until the end. I can't begin to describe the suspense and intrigue here, you have to read it for yourself whether you're a cyber geek or not. Highly recommend.

I had to read it in one stretch as I could not keep it down once I started. Story started bit slowly and then picked up the pace very soon. Simple to read too.

I SPY, I SAW HER DIE
Book 1 & 2

IAN C.P. IRVINE

"Do the right thing," is a thought many of us have when confronted with an event where a decision is needed. Mr. Irvine's protagonist, a professional hacker, Ray Luck has a lover who breaks up with him. She uses that phrase trying to bring him back to reality.

Luck disregards her plea, even though he thinks about it, her, and goes ahead about using one of his cyber programs anyway. He sees something that he might or might not have been programmed to witness - murder.

Leaving his cyber 'Safe space,' Luck goes visit a hacker bro to get some clarification of the video he down loaded. The events that follow are life changing and threatening for Ray Luck because of the misuse of government power by a few.

He puts his life and the lives of his lover, friends, and family in the crossfire of a foe; he thinks he knows. It's the right thing to do.

Mr. Irvine has written a two-book series; you can't put down. This thriller has all the ingredients with hurdles that seem impossible to get over for Ray Luck and a nemesis that has all the power to eliminate him from existence.

Book two is a continuation of one. I recommend that you buy them together for a promotional price on Amazon

This is the first time I have come across this author, but believe me it certainly wont be the last!! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, the plot is a fantastic storyline and it races through the twists and turns like a rollercoaster on speed!! I resented having to put the book down and was eagerly chomping at the bit for the next time I could pick it up to carry on reading!

Without any spoilers, there is a common link between the plots this being cyber related - you do not need to be wholly acquainted with computer terms and the details are presented in an understandable manner. If you like mysteries and thrillers combined into one, together with a tangible plot, then this is the book for you!

I am off now to find out what else I can get written by this author :)

If you want an imaginative take on how the internet can be used for cyber crime, all wrapped up in a spy thriller with a tender romance full of misunderstandings, you will enjoy this. It does have violent bits but makes up for it with lots of sex - well intermittently. It has tragedy with baddies turning into goodies and comedy where baddies get their violent comeuppance. It's a lot of fun and a very moral tale - in the end you just have to do the right thing. For the murder mystery thriller genre, it's definitely a good read.

Sometimes I skip sentences

Sometimes because there is so much drivel.....but NOT this book. I did skip (my bad) but only because I wanted to know what was going to happen or who dunnit. This is an amazing book with characters that have some not so wonderful qualities and some who are politically motivated and some who have personal gain in mind. There is enough action and twists that reading it will put you behind in your schedule. This book made me realize that we really are not alone....someone is watching! I really recommend this book.

This is one truly inspired writer. How does he do it?
Considerable talent...without question!

A certain je ne sais quoi?...unbelievably!

Mr Irvine, it's almost 2 in the morning and I am still buzzing with such vested interest in these truly amazing characters and their intertwined lives that you have created for us! Thank You so much for sharing them with us. Please don't stop.
Your career can only keep going up at this rate...well done!

Now onto the next one!

Loved It!

This was my first book from this author and I've already downloaded my next.
It truly was unputdownable.
Fast paced, twists and turns and a main character that I actually liked.
I spent several nights staying up way later than I generally would because the end of nearly every chapter left me feeling that I couldn't go to sleep unless I knew what happened next.
I look forward with great anticipation to reading many more.

Another British Cyber Mystery

I doubted I would like this book when I started it, but I was slowly drawn in. The formatting on my Kindle was not good but I learned to ignore it. The story had several lines running at the same time and from one night to the next I usually backed up a bit to not lose track. I enjoy cyber crimes and this did not disappoint. It has another book that follows, so nothing is really brought to a conclusion. That was why I gave it just four stars.

Second Ian CP Irvine book I have read. Again throughly enjoyable and written when the Dark Web, Intelligent Networks and the existence of Cyber Crime and Hackers is becoming an even greater threat to our world. Ray Luck “stumbles” on to a cyber feed that seemingly shows murder committed by a Member of Parliament. As the story evolves more twists and turns than any fairground ride take you whirling through Cyberworld and the possibilities it opens. Great book, very believable and very enjoyable

Lots going on, but this was hard going for at least the first half. Lots of mistakes - grammatical mainly (especially apostrophes) as well as a couple of textual mistakes - so better editing in future would be my advice. Also many repetitions of words, phrases and information, and too much use of ellipsis. And. Sentences. Like. This. Which drove me a bit crazy. Has potential.

It's 3:15 in the morning.

Could not put this book down! Mr. Irvine has, once again, kept me turning the page. This trilogy has kept me entertained, and puzzled of what could be more fact than fiction. This story will get your conspiracy theory thinking into hyper drive! Very good read, but make sure you start with book 1.

Great

I don't usually read murder mystery but this book was so captivating. I liked the way that everything was explained. There has to have been a lot of hard work and research gone Into this book and there was still romance x

K enjoyed this book but was annoyed to reach the end without the end of the story! I usually hate writers that do that making you buy the next to read what happens. I guess it worked on me know though as iv e now bought the next book! Quite liked the writing style too. Clever plot so far.

I forced myself to finish reading this but it didn't get any better. Seems more like a brainstorming session for a crime drama book with a really annoying whiny main character than a coherant story

Couldn't finish it.

I found Ray Luck smug and unlikable and couldn't get more than 20% through the book. I also thought the portrayal of his "cyber skills" was straight out of mainstream TV.
