Manny Williams was out. No More FBI. No more BAU. Sophie Lee, his close friend and long time partner had lost her husband during the last case in Miami. It left him a changed man. Enough is enough. It was time to do something else. But, Josh Corner, his friend and former boss, had something different in mind. He was starting a new super unit focusing on potential terrorism suspects and their profiles. Manny's answer was still no, yet, can anyone escape who they are? Even Manny? A bizarre murder scene in New Orleans helped convince Manny and Sophie, and the rest of his former team to take the leap onto Josh's new team, at least for now. Only time would tell if that decision was the right one. After landing in New Orleans, Manny was convinced of only one thing. Death was around the corner unless his team did their job. Worse, even if they did.
Rick Murcer lives in Michigan and like many in that part of the country lost his job in 2008 due to a decline in the economy. An experienced executive, he sent out over 600 resumes without success. With unemployment benefits waning and savings nearly depleted he did the only logical thing he could think of...decide to become a writer.
Fortunately for Rick, he defied all conventional wisdom about self-publishing and literally became an overnight sensation. His first three books Caribbean Moon, Deceitful Moon, and Emerald Moon sold more than 300,000 copies between April and October 2011. He had two books in Amazon's top ten for many weeks and became both a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author.
Rick graduated from Michigan State University and is fairly new to the game of writing. Proving his knack for storytelling, the first piece he had ever written, Herb's Home Run, was published by The Writer's Journal in 2002. Rick attributes his success to hard work and God's blessing and believes that you can achieve any goal you wish if you just set your mind to it.
Rick has been married longer than his wife likes to admit, and they have two grown children, three grandkids, and a blind, black Lab named Max, who serves as Rick's "writing" dog. Each morning Max pushes Rick to his writing room so that the dog can snore on his rug while Rick ponds away on the keys. And pounds away he does. Rick is one of those amazing writers that are so energized by the stories in their heads the words just flow onto the page. He has many works in progress so expect more titles from him in the near future.
Love the storyline and the continuing saga of the Manny Williams books! Very good reading.. I recommend if you read this book to read all the previous books in order.
The characters remained true to form but nothing seemed to add a spark to the story. I actually preferred the crazy serial killers more! The editing was HORRIBLE!
Really like the entire Manny Williams series. The characters are believable and well developed. I like when after reading a book I feel like the characters are friends.
Another great Manny Williams book, but now I just have the next one. You can't end it like that! Usually I get tired of these series books, been there done that, only so much you can do with them before it gets old. I have Manny and Sophie a break after book 5, now I have read the last 4 books in the past two weeks. Now I must go look for the 10th book of it is out yet. While I am irked at the ending, and I know everything will work out because it is Manny after all, this is how you keep readers coming back.
WOW!!! I didn't see that ending coming at all. Rick keeps us spell bound in another Manny Williams series. Keep them coming Rick, want to know how they all come out next.
