Werewolves of Chicago #3

Werewolves of Chicago: Xavier

Rate this book
Emily Foster, a single mother of two, is NOT what Xavier needs right now. Not with Alexander Kruglov breathing down their necks. But Xavier feels he owes her since his pack is the reason that she's a new widow. Still, their chemistry is a pain in the ass. And her kids? Michael and Sofia are too cute for words, even to Xavier -- a wolf who has no interest in family or children. This isn't the time for flirtations and she's off limits anyway, for reasons he can never tell her... but damn if she doesn't smell delicious. But what's driving him really crazy? Why can't he hear her heartbeat? What. The. Fuuuuhhhhck.

Xavier: The Hero
Werewolves of Chicago:
Book 3
Faleena Hopkins

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Being born & raised in the Windy City that’s was one of the things that had me draw to the series… But what kept reading was how Ms Hopkins making the characters come alive & so realistic

Emily Foster & her 2 kids Michael & Sofia lived through the horrors of abusive man called their husband & father…. You can only imagine what their lives were like…. So you can also imagine how relief Emily was when she found out her husband was dead.

Xavier is one of those man that are the strong silent types. Xavier never thought he would ever settle down or have kids…. Some wolf are lucky to find their faded mate & others ain’t that lucky it seems like Xavier was in denial when it came to Emily he couldn’t even hear here heart beating…

This book had me on emotional rollercoaster. The book was so different than any of Ms Hopkins other books in the series…just as you might imagine abusive part had you wanting ball your eyes out, but the sex screens were very HOT… and the other members of the pack will have you laughing your butt off

"Werewolves of..." Series - All Stand-Alones. Each city, a new pack. Each book, a new wolf, his entire story told in one complete book. But I recommend that you read the whole series so you can enjoy the back story better…

No way, it's not happening to me, Curragh and even the used to be scrawny Howard AKA War found their forever mates... Draik even has a fulltime girl.

So when Draik's girl Sandra claims her neighbor is being systemically beaten by her husband, we do what we do best scare the crap out of the douche bag, so he never does it again. Thing is I go a tad overboard and kill him.. Then I realize I can't stay away from his gorgeous widow and her kids, I adore the little twirps, even though they see right through me, call me wolfman!

Could this be what I'm fighting so hard to avoid? I have her a couple of times, but that's not enough and either way if she finds out what I really am and that I'm responsible for the death of her douche bag husband, she won't want to see me again. So, I go on being what I am, or what?

Get those towels out ladies, not for the faint of heart, or under 18

Great story Ms. Hopkins

The hardest thing to do is walk away.
This review is from: Werewolves of Chicago: Xavier: The Hero (Volume 3) (Paperback)
Where to begin? Faleena Hopkins never disappoints and this is one of her best so far, I can't wait to see more from her. We still have the thread of the original Werewolves of Chicago story but if you have not read any others Do Not let that stop you. This and each of her stories can be read alone.
Xavier is full of real life drama, Ms. Hopkins has shown us a gritty side of life in this story. One we wish was not there, but once seen cannot be forgotten. In other books we read about drama but it is something that doesn't touch our lives. Xavier and Emily's story could be any one of ours story. It really touched me, I had to wipe tears away a few times, just knowing that while this was just a book, that while I was reading, this was really happening every day to someone. The only difference is not everyone has a hero to save them.
It is an uplifting story, showing that there are heroes out there. It, also, showed me that sometimes you have to listen to children. They see the world around them in a way that we have become too jaded to. The innocence of children is precious and should be protected at all costs, that is exactly what Xavier will do, no matter what. It shows us that sometimes our best may not be enough but that if we have given our best then we must accept that and move on.
I cannot say enough good things about how this story left me feeling. There is hope and sometimes it is in the shape of a wolf.
There was swearing and sex but it flowed so perfectly with the story it felt natural. I couldn't imagine Xavier speaking any other way, but he was never disrespectful. He is what a men should be, loving, respectfully, loyal and protective.
I would love to say more but am afraid to ruin the story for you, just know you will not be disappointed.
As I have said before even though I was given this book as an ARC I would gladly pay to read it

I did receive this book an ARC, but I also pre-ordered for a final copy.
I really enjoy the Chicago series the best of Faleena's series, probably because I live here, but I have purchased and bought them all.

THIS one is loaded for bear, or shall I say wolf.. it is NOT for the faint of heart or prudish personality. FULL of sex.. but it;s not pornographic or gross.
The storyline is solid, characters are developed. You won't be unhappy, but don't forget to read about the REST of this pack.
If I have ANY complaint, it's that I can't put the book (s) down once I start them, so I'm up too late and crabby all day.. haha.

WEREWOLVES OF CHICAGO; XAVIER-THE HERO: SPINE-TINGLING, ACTION & SCORCHING ROMANCE

What you'll find in this story; a cast of awesome impressive and engaging characters, spectacular story-line, powerful vivid scene descriptions, phenomenal banter, heart shattering moments, pent up rage, gripping suspense, action, life threatening incidents, emotions skyrocket, camaraderie, heroic deeds, horrific dangers, jaw-dropping sensual romance leaving you awe-struck, and a fabulous conclusion that leaves you wanting more.

Xavier, is one of the wolf shifter vigilantes who protect the innocents of Chicago. His life is good, he has his pack mates, women when he wants them, so why is it that Emily has him tied up in knots when he knows she is forbidden to him.... Unbeknownst to Xavier, horrific danger is headed his way with a deadly vengeance.

INCREDIBLE-fast paced well written creative read by a truly gifted author. The author has combined reality and fantasy to give readers a compelling story with credible characters that come alive with scene descriptions that leave you breathless, intriguing plot, and fantastic dialogue that keep you hooked from start to finish. The children play a large part in this story as they make you giggle with delight, shed a few tears, and melt your heart. Xavier proves to be a most valiant hero and Emily showed courage when it was needed; their romance is filled with fiery passion and undying devotion. I relished this story, a most memorable gratifying read. If you treasure shifter romance, this is an excellent book for your library. {I was gifted this book and this honest review}. In the world of shifter romance, the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I highly recommend this book.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review and I can't thank Faleena more for making my day with this fantastic new book. I started reading when I found the mail yesterday morning and read whenever I had the chance, only leaving the end open for this morning. This story is a little different to the others with real life drama that will drag you into the story, sharing the thrills with Xavier and Emily. This pack of wolves rock and gets more and more amazing with every addition. After reading Curragh I thought it couldn't get any better but it did. You never fail to amaze me Faleena and I'm looking forward to Draik :)

This is the first werewolf story that I have read that made me cry. That is because the author brought Xavier, Emily and her two children to life with her writing. There was a good mix of romance and adventure with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat so I finished it in less than an afternoon.

I was intrigued by the fact that Xavier could not hear Emily's heartbeat but the rest his pack members could. Xavier was as mystified as I was.

I really enjoyed this book and will go back and read the previous books in this series

Just finished reading this latest book by Faleena Hopkins. As always, a well written and enjoyable story. I was given an ARC, because I somehow was lucky to land on her reading list (hugging myself joyfully like a cartoon character). The story is exciting, the language a bit raw at times, but overall a not to be missed addition to this series. One more wolf to go. JIR

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. I loved this book. I am in stunned silence by how good it was. Passion, adventure, heartbreak, omg it has everything. While I had read all of the New York series, this was the first of the Chicago that I got to and I will be hanging out for every one of them.

Werewolves of Chicago: Xavier

Wow these books are crazy good. I am on pins and needles waiting on Draik's story. I wondered about the Russian, why he wanted them to change so bad. Such an awesome book.

I don't think this can be read as a stand alone, I tried and there were places I was really confused. I thought maybe it was just the writing but after I read it through I realized it was just confusion on my part. Enjoyable little break from reality.

This was my favorite of the series! Xavier was intense in all things(Wink, Wink). I loved the heat between him and Emily. It flamed hotter and hotter until they couldn't resist.

OK I have to say this is my favorite book so far. I can never put these books down, the next book is always better then the last. They always have a great story line, and this one just tugged at my heartstrings. I really have to say if you are looking for a great book series then this is the one to read. To be honest with you faleena Hopkins is a great author no matter what you like to read, so if your looking for a good author follow her books. She writes books other then paranormal romance than are just as good. This story line is still the best one yet. Yes I did receive an ARC copy for my honest review. You guys have it you really need to read this book.

I have read all three books in the Werewolves of Chicago series and did not think I could like anyone more than Curragh. Totally wrong. Xavier is amazing, loving and totally badass. The story is an emotional rollercoaster so hang on for a wild ride. Emily and her children have gone through so much you cannot help but love them and Xavier feels the same. This was definitely an unexpected storyline and I loved every minute of it. Beautiful story.

I was gifted a copy from the author for an honest review.

I did not think I would have a favorite of the werewolves. But Xavier has done it. He is amazing. He finally admits his love for Emily, and hers for him. Such a roller coaster of emotions with Emily's kids(who freaked Xavier out by calling him wolf man right off) the Russian mafia, child abuse, sexual abuse, spousal abuse, and of course Xavier killing her husband. A must read. Can't wait for more.

This last book had an amazing storyline with great characters. Wanted more. You will fall in love with Xavier and Emily. Emily will have you crying. Xavier will have you cheering. Wish there was a 4th book with Draik's love story.

Sexy Wolfman

Xavier was worth the wait. His story was very different from the others and so entertaining. I enjoyed every minute although I thought there was going to be a twist with him not being able to hear a heart beat.

Now who will sweep Draik's wolf off his feet?

Again this has to carry a warning for explicit content and again this leans on the side of crass and yet again this is another very good story. I was pleased to see that the author did not rush this story and there was depth in the depiction of the characters and the story in general.

Another great read from Faleena Hopkins. I seriously cannot get enough of her books. Xavier was the one I really wanted to know about and this story did not disappoint. I really would like to know what happens to Draik as everyone needs to meet their true mate.
