After reconnecting with Lucy Aguayo on an undercover mission to Colombia, Bart Gutierrez can't imagine his life without her now. Exploring their new relationship has him thinking of love and marriage, but before they can move forward, their dangerous past comes back to haunt them. Can they face it together or will it tear them apart?
Lucy has been undercover for five years and her new "normal" life takes some getting used to. Bart and his family have welcomed her with open arms and just as she starts to believe her newfound happiness isn't going to be snatched away, government agents show up unannounced and give her an ultimatum---do one last operation for us or you won't like the consequences.
Everything doesn't go as planned, however, and soon both of their lives are on the line. Can they survive the mission and put the past behind them once and for all, in order to have the future they've always wanted?
(A companion novella that takes place directly following Pocket Full of Posies Hostage Negotiation Team #3)
After reading every Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, and Hardy Boys book her elementary school library had, Julie Coulter Bellon knew from a young age she wanted to write books and be a published author someday. That dream came true and she is now the author of thirty romantic suspense novels and two children's books. One nightmare that also came true was that she once tripped up the stairs going on stage to accept a book award and she thinks about that moment more often than she should.
Julie loves to travel and her favorite cities she's visited so far are probably Athens, Paris, Ottawa, and London. She is a former journalist and podcast host of Authors Off the Page. She loves to read, write, teach, watch Hawaii Five-O reruns, and eat Canadian chocolate. Not necessarily in that order.

Have you ever been in the mood for a little something sweet? I feel like this book is a little morsel of chocolate or something. It's always tricky to nail a novella, but Julie Coulter Bellon does it! There's just the perfect amount of romance and suspense in this bonus story.
I love a book with great characters, especially when their personalities shine off the pages and I felt that these were well written. It's fast-paced, which really captured my attention.
Lucy is trying to adjust to life again and I love how right from the start, Bart and his mother are there to ease her into things. The romance is quite swoony and the adventure had me on the edge of my seat. I wasn't prepared for the twists and turns found in this story, since it isn't full-length, so be prepared for a fun and wild ride! As always, I'm eagerly awaiting more!
Content: mild romance; mild violence. Clean!

I just love having these in between, follow up novellas for this Hostage Negotiation Team series. It's like a P.S. for the characters. So fun.
This P.S. is for Bart and Lucy. They are home from Colombia and working on their relationship. You may think that this means that things are quiet and back to normal, but no. No it isn't. Bart and Lucy are sucked right back into the drug cartel once again with the hopes that this time will finally be the last and they can move on with their lives.
There was a bit of romance and a bit of suspense. I was pulled right back into the lives of Bart and Lucy- willingly and happily.
I love how Julie Bellon writes. She is one of my very favorite authors in this genre. Reading her books is the best treat!
Content: Clean, some violence

Romance, sweet, suspense, novella; series, but stand alone read Bart and Lucy’s story is a continuation from a previous novel. Bart is almost ready to get closer to Lucy, things implode when homeland security arrests Bart’s mother under suspicion of cartel activity. Lucy and Bart work together to save Manny, Bart’s cousin, and get his mom released. Fun novel with just the right amount of suspense and action.
There are some characters that you want more of after you finish reading their story and that's what I love about this novella--more Bart and Lucy! They've been home from Colombia for a month. Bart is still working with the hostage negotiation team but Lucy is now working with his mother in her flower shop, Forget Me Not. It doesn't take long for them to go on another dangerous mission together and come up with a plan to make it safely back home.
Bart and Lucy have known each other for years and have major daddy issues. They continue to work through those and their relationship moves forward. They have some sweet moments together, which is nice because there's a lot of craziness happening, too. They face men they hoped to never see again. Bart also needs to deal with more secrets his mother has been keeping from him. It's a quick read, but there are still some twists and turns along the way.
This is a fantastic addition to this series! I love the hostage negotiation team and am looking forward to catching up with Captain Ron Reed next!
I received a copy from the author for an honest review. My opinion is 100% my own.
I have read this whole series (several years ago) and loved it but somehow totally missed this novella. I have to disclose that I dislike novellas as a rule. Maybe that is why I didn't read it before when I was moving through the series. This go'round, I couldn't remember much about the characters and plots from the series, so I felt a little like I was playing catch up and not quite catching enough. I wasn't exactly in the mood for this book--at least I guess that is what was going on. So, I didn't love this book. It was OK.
I loved this book! It was fast paced and suspenseful! It was great to see the personal sides of Bart and Lucy and read more about their story. I think Bart and Lucy make a great couple and they work so well together. This is a great addition to the set! Good job Julie!
Note: I was given and ARC copy of this book by the Author in exchange for an honest review!
This book is an action packed novella. Bart and Lucy are trying to re-establish their relationship. The flower shop where Lucy and Bart's mom work, The Forget Me Not, is providing flowers for a wedding when things start to get dicey. Plan on spending time reading this one - it isn't one of those books you can put down before you finish.
