Andy Lockwood is a writer, an artist, and above all: a dreamer. He got his start in screenwriting and filmmaking where he discovered his obsessive love of storytelling.
He is the author of two novels, Empty Hallways and House of Thirteen; a 12-part serial thriller, At Calendar’s End; and is a regular contributor to horror anthologies. He is always working on another piece of writing, whether it is a novel, a story, or something else entirely. When not slaving away at the keyboard, he spends his time buying books he does not have time to read, and delving into mediums he has no time to fully explore, but he dabbles in them anyway.
He lives in mid-Michigan with his amazingly talented and entirely-too-supportive wife, their delightfully boisterous daughter, a brood of cats, and a misguided idea of what it means to be an adult.

This book ended with a surprise twist. You're expecting death but not in the way it happened. Unlike the other beings of the Intercalary, I didn't feel sorry for Juno at all. In fact, when she died, I thought, "Good riddance." I mean c'mon! Whereas all the other members of the Intercalary faced their deaths with honor, she didn't and she was there the longest, You think she would have gotten a clue to man up. Throughout the whole series, she comes off as weak, pathetic, and can't handle anything. Plus, freaking Julian is just an idiot. Janus and Ember's relationship was similar but where as Janus was a control freak, Julian just wanted to dominate. Both women in the relationship are their matches but Ember had a bit for spine in her back than June. Anyway, that's my rant on Juno (June). But even as I think about the pairing of the relationships, I can't but see just in the nature of the position of the year, Janus and Julian would clash. After all, Janus is the start of the year and Julian is halfway through. Ember and Juno are six months apart so it all makes sense.

The story continues to get better though, my rant against Juno notwithstanding. I've brought the next one.

Halfway through the series and the twists are still coming!
Juno was never a favorite character of mine, she was always kind of in the background and never really took a stance, flip-flopping between Julian and the group. Previously, she left the group to try and bring Julian back home but now in the city running around Juno gets a revelation no one was ready for.
Back at the house, September and Tobin arrive and presumably are filled in on all the drama. Ember learns more about Tris whose shadow is stronger and more clearly defined after absorbing so many. Ember also is ready to fight back and try to save Juno.

BUT THAT ENDING!! :0 I don't want to spoil anything but this was probably my favorite volume yet with all the unexpected turns!
