Until Then

Rate this book
My name is Kole Harris, and I loved being a detective. Until…
One cold September day, everything in my world imploded. After losing my wife, I was sure I’d never be whole again. I never imagined my life could be normal. Drinking and one-night stands became my new normal—the only way I knew to survive the pain.
Until her…
She opened my eyes and made me believe I can love again. She showed me what it’s like to wake up next to a woman and not run, how to leave the guilt behind and live again—and that I deserve to have a life. I never knew love like this, or craved anyone as much as I crave her.
My name is Rosealy Taylor, and two years ago I lost the only man I’d ever loved…
Moving on seemed overwhelming, but I had to learn that loving someone else was possible. However, the heartache from his past has built a wall around the love I know he can give. I never thought I could give my heart to someone else.
Until him.

Will our painful pasts destroy any hope for our future?

I feel bad rating this so low but I just didn't like this.
I thought it would have been about two people who have had a tough time come together and heal each other with a second chance at love.

I didn't get that vibe at all. Everything was at warp speed. One second their meeting, then dating, then sex followed quickly by I love you's it all just seemed way too unbelievable.

First off, it didn't seem like Kole ever really got over his late wife so that put a damper on the story. Second the characters personalities DID NOT match their tone in conversation. (If that makes sense). The way their characters were set up didn't match the overall tone of the story. Too corny or mushy I don't know it's hard to explain. I kind of felt like it was forced comfortability with each other. Like everything was immediately perfect.

The guys spoke like little women and I didn't get anything from the side characters. It all just didn't mesh well for me. I think it was all just too fast and unbelievable. I wasn't into this at all. It just wasn't what I was expecting after reading the synopsis.

Better luck next time.

After reading this book I am a full believer in 2nd chances. Kole Harris is my new book boyfriend. I really don't see how another book guy can replace. He's not perfect, he is messed up. BUT then he was redeemed by Rosely Taylor.
They are both surviving broken hearts. Each in different ways, but horrific none the less. They meet because fate was literally in the passenger seat of one of their car's There's a spark that flies between them but of course they are gun shy. But they try. and the end result had this reader ugly crying

I really liked the plot of this book and the characters. Unfortunately, I felt that the characters weren't developed enough to really fall in love with them. The plot felt rushed and told more than I liked. I did like how it was told in duel first person POV.

The author shows a lot of promise and I would definitely consider reading other books by her.
