*Note: I'm an author in this anthology. Take that for what it's worth.
Like with all anthologies, there's a little something for everyone. I enjoyed every one of these stories. There were a few that really blew me away: Sinkers by Dan Waters Time Is a Face on the Water by Michael Bailey Red Rabbit by Steve Rasnic Tem Lockjaw by David Annandale The Architecture of Snow by David Morrell
Most of the stories are solid, some hits and some misses as you'd expect from an anthology. All are new stories, except for David Morrell's (very good) "Architecture of Snow." That one dates from 2009, but is worth the price of admission if you haven't read it.
The biggest flaw in this volume is the editing. Some stories are pretty clean, but there are a couple that are almost unreadable due to typos and errors.
"Mise en Abyme" by Gordon White - Heira is employed by the Overseer to remove the eyes of execution victims and insert black bars for the footage broadcast but she remains aware of their presence.
"Lockjaw" by David Annandale - Gil worries that his wife Judy may harm their daughter.
"Time is a Face on the Water" by Michael Bailey - wc "Those Rockports Won't Get You to Heaven" by Jack Ketchum - wc "Window" by Anya Martin - wc "The Architecture of Snow" by David Morrell - wc "Cocoa" by Bob Pastorella - wc "Red Rabbit" by Steve Rasnic Tem - wc "Sinkers" by Dan Waters - wc "Dead Letter Office" by Trent Zelazny - wc
