Across the azure waters of Caribbean Sea under the warmth of the tropical sun, are more than seven hundred islands which make up many nations. Their citizens are a mix of native and colonial peoples, with unique cultures and traditions. But, there are many dark shadows in paradise. For upon these same islands, unknown to most people, are countless horrors which lurk just beyond the perception of mankind. Within are nine stories shedding light upon the Shadows in Paradise.
Brian M. Sammons lives in Michigan, loves horror films and books, writes stories and reviews, edits various books, and is described by his neighbors as “such a nice, quiet man.”
This is the second fiction collection from Golden Goblin Press. It is a solid contribution to the ever-expanding Yog-Sothery started by that tale-teller from Providence. It is harder for this reader to pick favorites in this collection than it was with GGP's first first collection, Tales of Cthulhu Invictus. Dread Shadows in Paradise is more moody than that collection. Not a bad thing, moody, just different; ToCI was gulped whereas DSiP was sipped.
Looking forward to GGP's third collection, Heroes of Red Hook, and hoping for many more collections after that one.
