Alligator conservationist Coco LeBlanc knew real fear when she found a body in the clutches of her beloved beasts. Fear turned to horror when she saw that it was one of the Trahan clan—and he'd been shot in the back. Her ex-boyfriend, Luc Trahan, had dumped Coco two years ago when she refused to give up her family's centuries-old voodoo traditions, and he didn't know about her newfound faith. Now, as they and their families become prime suspects in the grisly crime, they'll have to work together to clear their names before the Cajun killer strikes again.

Robin Caroll’s Bayou Justice was just what I was hoping for. A gripping page-turner that kept me coming back for more. Coco and Luc had a very cool vibe going and I enjoyed how the relationship developed. Loved the Bayou setting and Caroll does a marvelous job of transporting the reader to the swamps. I was jumping at every bump of the boat. It’s definitely a harrowing read, so beware!
This is a Brand New Author for me to read. I'm reading the series called Bayou in which there are three sister and a grandmother that live together in Lagniappe, Louisiana. This series has it all broken hearts and engagement, murder, the blame game, way way over bearing grandfather, forcloser, voodoo, murders, a truth that will shatter both family to their very core, and finally love that conquers all and a murder that is very close to both family's. Follow Coco LeBlanc as she finds out the truth about her family and what really happened to the three sister's momma and papa and falling in love with the same man again.
This is the first book I have read by this author, Robin Caroll. It definitely will be the first of many! She created a world within her book that had me immensely interested from the beginning. Her characters are life-like and fully developed. The plot is excellent! The scenery was so descriptive I absolutely felt like I was living in the bayou.
This is a mystery/romance book. Not my usual genre, but I am going to an event where Ms. Caroll will be and I am trying to read books by the authors I may meet. I am so glad I found her books. It was more a mystery and not a gory thriller (which I do not read). I will be reading more of her work in the future.
Story has it all - Romance - Murder - Family - Christian and then even some Vodo0 - Written to where the characters become well known to you - Many twist & turns - Set in the Louisiana Bayou - Hope to read the complete series.
Ooh this one was so so good. The mystery was one that had me guessing and the Bayou setting pulled me in immediately. Definitely will be devouring this series!
This is the first entry in a series revolving around the lives of the denizens of Louisiana's Bayou country. Alligator conservationist Coco LeBlanc discovers the body of the man who's recently served her family with an eviction notice and immediately becomes a suspect--along with her beau, Luc, in his murder. Their past history is one of deception--both had relatives in the KKK years ago--and both wonder if they can trust each other.
There's actually some pretty interesting Confederate history contained here, as well as (of course!) a romance between old loves. It was nice to see that Coco's Cajun relatives who practice voodoo were not treated as outcasts as well, although she doesn't condone their practices. Coco's younger sister, Tara, came across as annoying in a couple of scenes. However, the real star of the book is the bayou itself.
I love this author's books, and she didn't disappoint with this one. The author has combined a murder mystery, family drama, faith and romance with a setting in the Louisiana Bayou that resulted in a book that pulled me in from the first pages and kept me reading to see what could possibly happen next. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and it is a book that I certainly recommend and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed this book. I think I will continue with this series, but since I read it through a special trial of KindleUnlimited, I'm not sure when I'll get back to it. It's a Christian romantic suspense. It is not overly preachy, although somewhat more religious than I'm use to. But it is a good story full of suspeense and intrigue; although I guessed early on who did it.
This was an in-between read but I really liked it. Having lived in Louisana I could picture everything they were talking about and it has a Christian perspective which I really enjoyed. A love story that was not trashy.
Alligators, voodoo, and murders...oh my! This definitely is not your typical Christian fiction, yet the themes of providence, provision, and perseverance loom large throughout the work. I will definitely be looking for more by Robin Caroll.
This was such a good book. I love a good romantic suspense and this book did not disappoint. In fact, I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in the series. I definitely recommend this book.
This is the first book by Robin Caroll that I read, and it turned me into a fan for life. Her style has that "Hitchcock-ian" vibe in the way that he did "North by Northwest". Read her!
I really loved this book! Unique setting and mystery and just all around suspenseful and interesting! Luc did get on my nerves a few times but it didn't take away from the story too much.
