Despite being left with sooo many questions I massively recommend this duet.

This young-adult, zombie apocalypse, save-the-world story entranced me. Liv and her crew continue to battle their way to Rockford to find her brother Lucas. Along the way they meet new people, face new challenges and fight many battles of survival. The pace, the adventure and the energy kept me reading late into the night.

There was a formatting issue with my version of the book, so I will check to see if there is an update available, however it didn't spoil my enjoyment of what is a great story. You need to read book #1, Killshot, to understand the story, and we are left with unanswered questions at the end of the book.
Nothing huge that prevents you enjoying what is a great story, more of an atmospheric film style ending. I guess the author hoped to write more in this world, but perhaps life, sales or muse hasn't allowed that yet. Fingers crossed for more of Liv, Zander and their friends in the future.

Mama Says:
Another wild ride from Aria Michaels is in store for readers of the Icarus series.  Continuing their harrowing journey following the events in Killshot, Liv, Zan, Ty, Ry, and the rest are thrown one nasty slime-covered curve ball after another in this emotional second installment.
Though there are characters which exhibit some growth, I still can't stand Christa, but it makes sense to have some people survive that aren't necessarily your favorites, because isn't that rather realistic?
A good balance of fast paced and wasteland wandering, stopping now and then to pause for you to really soak in the details of the devastation, Ballistic is one of those books that reminds you that you can love a book even if it makes you cry.  In fact, maybe even more so because of it.
Furthermore, there are still a number of matters by which I remain perplexed, but I'm hoping those questions will be answered in the book yet to come.
In the end I greatly enjoyed my time spent in this particular collection of pages.  I loved being so wrapped up in the words of another that I completely lost sight of myself and became immersed in the reality of the characters, something which happened with both books in the Icarus series, but more often in Ballistic due to the tension ratcheting up a few more notches.  The stakes are higher than ever and I just can't wait for the next book after that ending.
4 stabby stars and many thanks to the author and tour host for the review opportunity!

I was hooked on Aria Michaels writing since I finished Killshot last year. So when I got the chance to be on of the advance readers for Ballistic I was overcome with excitement!

Ballistic was wonderfully written and picked up perfectly from where Killshot ended, mere days after Icarus hit and silenced the world. Liv and her group of friends are doing their best to survive and find Liv's younger brother. Though both tasks prove to be more difficult then one would hope when they encounter the after effects of Icarus and other survivors. With each new obstacle that they encounter Liv slowly loses hope of finding her brother alive, but Riley knows somehow that Lucas is fine and they will find him.

Ballistic met every hope I had when I finished Killshot last year. Aria roped the readers in with ease for another 400 pages of adventure while building on the fantastic world she created in the first book. She also did a wonderful job of letting the readers have a deeper look at the characters that were carried over from book one while introducing new character with grace.

The Icarus Series is sure to be a hit for years to come and I am excited to see where the series takes the reader with each new installment in the series. I highly recommend this series to everyone that enjoys a good YA Dystopian series.

I recieved an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

**** 4.5 Cranky Stars ****

No time was lost between Killshot and Ballistic. The journey carried on for these unfortunate Icarus survivors.

Liv along with her friends carried on their quest to find their lost family as well as the answers to the mystery of the virus woken up by Icarus. For Liv however, it’s all because of Beans.

We finally meet the famous Beans and boy, he’s such a great young man. I say: man because the tragedy brought by the solar flare to his young life forced him to grow up. Like his sister, Lucas is a natural born leader and in his own way, he fought hard to protect the ones he loved. And for one so young, he is so wise.

Liv on the other hand is growing more powerful...and deadly. Self-doubt started creeping into her mind if she was still capable of protecting her friends or if they needed protection from her.

Like the first book, this one is action-packed and full of surprises.

One thing I would have like to have seen developed was the author’s ability to control the crowd better. More and more people were introduced, great characters who added their own special flair to the story. However, there were a few parts in the book were people got lost when different characters took over the “scene”. I know creating poignant moment in the story is essential but during those times, a few of the major characters were just left hanging with no lines, so to speak.

Still, I was glued to my eBook reader, desperate to find out what would become of Liv and her friends. We get reunited with a character from book 1 and a pleasant surprise made my heart skip a beat. And I wasn’t talking about Liv and Zander who were still going strong.

The finale was nothing short of explosive with a satisfying conclusion to book 2’s mission.

I would highly recommend this series to everyone even if the sky is falling.

I received a copy of this book exchange for an honest review. This book was just amazing and Livi was still staying strong through everything trying not to give up. Some answers are answered but their are more questions to what happened. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I can’t say enough good things about this series and especially this book. There are so many horrible things going on but this ragtag band of misfits has made it so far and they are going to beat the system. At this point, there is on such thing as good and evil, no right and wrong. There is only death and survival. You do what you have to do to stay alive. Liv feels like everyone thinks she is something special because she has these “special powers” but she feels she is not part of the solution. She is part of the problem. Her group ends up working with a rival band of survivors and uncover a HOT MESS of stuff going on at the camp that her little brother, Beans, is at. Also, a surprise character pops back up from book 1. I couldn’t believe it, and their entrance was absolutely perfect! I am completely bummed that I waited so long to read this series because once I started turning the pages, I just couldn’t stop. Now, I don’t believe there is another past this book.
Reader beware: This is an amazing book and totally worth the read but there should be at the very least another book after this to complete it. At the time that I am writing this, there is not. I hope this changes because it truly is something special!

I can't verify that the printed version has the same problems, but the Kindle version is FILLED with typos, grammar errors, and editing notes that were not 'edited' out. It completely throws you out of the story. The editing notes are approx every 2-3 minutes of reading. The story also has them making fun of a man with dissociative identity disorder, calling him Jekyll/Hyde. After the straight up slurs in the first book, I cannot let this go. It's unacceptable. The story also makes no sense. It jumps around all over the place. I had to go back pages just to see what the hell someone was referring to. The author has little to no sense of the reality of what your body goes through during traumatic incidents. Don't read this book series unless you want to be incredibly frustrated. The concept of the story is SO. GOOD. But the execution is abysmal. DNF. DNR.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Aria Michaels’ delivers another great book!

I enjoyed reading this installment in the Icarus series. The characters are evolving and we’re learning more about them and their situation. It’s a treacherous world Liv and her friends are attempting to survive in. Every day they are learning more and more—new creatures, atmospheric dangers, and a possible nefarious reason for all that is happening. Just a warning—once you start this book you won’t want to stop.

Liv was already a strong girl in the first book of the series. In “Ballistic” she becomes determined with such focus. Her evolution is scary and even monstrous. Liv is somebody you don’t want to turn your back on.

Zander also begins to change in “Ballistic”. His transformation, however, is strictly a reaction of his new environment and the newly hatched threat. Imagine living in a world where you think you’ve finally figured out what’s going on and then have everything flip upside down with new things threatening your existence. I’d change too.

Ty, the kid from Tennessee, was introduced in “Killshot”. In “Ballistic” we learn more about him. I grew to appreciate his quirky sense of humor tinged with odd southern expressions. There’s a major revelation about this hunk in the last few pages of this story. It will hit you out of left field before you say ‘I’m good with it’. But trust me… I get it and the news is actually welcoming and logical.
Some of the previous characters fall by the wayside to make room for new ones. We hear less about Micah (with good reason), Falisha, Jake, and Riley. They’re still around, but they don’t play big roles. The new characters are becoming major players. Michaels adds to the cast a scientist whose trust is questionable (Eli), a badass renegade of a leader (Tessa), a makeshift doctor (Collin), and Liv’s little brother.

“Ballistic” offers up some unexpected, ugly twists along with a little food for thought. We all like to think that when faced with a mega-disaster, good will prevail and people will do the right things. Michaels makes you wonder if that’s just a fatalistic way of thinking. Humanity, on a fundamental level, will fight to survive. That fight will weed out the good from the bad and those who are too nice, too thoughtful or even too inclusive might not make it in the end. On the flip side, those who are seriously thinking ‘me, me, me’ may also find that they won’t survive. It will take people can balance the two and think on their feet who’ll make the cut. So far, Liv and her friends are doing a great job at it.

I can’t wait to read more of this thrilling tale!

Every so often I come across a series which has a truly cinematic quality, this is the case with the Icarus series. Ballistic doesn’t falter after Killshot and the same depth of world and character building is astounding.

Before picking up on Liv’s search, we start with Lucas’ story. The chaos in the aftermath and where we discover that he is at least alive, but being taken to “safety” by the Army. Liv on the other hand is still battling through with her band of friends and allies, at least with transport they now have something going their way, but with the heat still blazing their choices of shelter need to be wise. What looks like the perfect sanctuary for a pitstop brings them face to face with yet more mutations, the pods have incubated and the results are truly terrifying.

The team seem to be living from one escape to the next, be it from the pods to the lightening storms to other survivors. Clues left by those they are searching for are followed but an interruption along the way leads to new discoveries allegiances. But will Liv ever reach her goal? Is Lucas better at getting himself into trouble than his sister is?

As with Killshot, the set pieces are fantastic, battles are intense in both description and scale and the book is full to bursting with story. The pace fluctuates well with the ups and downs of the groups experiences, well earnt rests are time for reflection, to get to know each other better and to get under each other's skin. I like that there is such a diversity between the group and also with those they meet along the way. There is a good sense that even in times of strife people either naturally get along with each other or they don't. The writer doesn't force them to be a jolly band but nor is anyone truly a villain, everyone is just getting through each day as best they can. For me this is a massive part of what sets this series apart, the characters are exceptional and that leaves the slower parts of the book being just as captivating as those filled with action.

It’s a book which kept me on the edge, desperate to turn to the next page but this time the cliffhanger is a little more dastardly! Thank you Aria Michaels for another amazing read!

"We go were you go . Your fight is our fight. You didn't put us in danger, it was just there, and you got us through it."

I jumped straight into Ballistic, Icarus Series #2 by Aria Michaels after i finished Killshot, i was so glad that i got to read this series one after the other because i think the wait would have killed me, i was that eager to carry on the journey. Both books grabbed hold of me and didn't let me go. The continuation of this amazing series was flawless. It's a fast paced, action packed, edge of your seat reading. There is also quite an emotional side to this read on how protective Liv is of everyone and the dangers they faced, drawing you deeper in as Liv, Zander and the gang are still surviving in the world after Icarus, with Liv desperate to find her younger brother Lucas (Beans).

"It is far easier to die having done what's right than to live with having not."

There are twists, turns and secrets throughout this read with glimpses into Lucas's life and what he has been going through while being held by the military. Jumping from one to the other only added to the story for me and i enjoyed getting an insight into Lucas's Character.
Again Aria has done an outstanding job with this book and i couldn't put it down. I'm hoping there is going to be a book 3 as i feel there is more to come in this Apocalyptic adventure.
I would Highly Recommend this series and this Author.

Ballistic: Icarus Series Book Two by Aria Michaels is a second book in the Icarus Series.
The story picks up where book one leave us. Our band of friends (Jake, Falisha, Christa, Ty, Eli and Riley) are being led by Olivia and Zander on a quest to find Lucas, Olivia’s brother. The group meets with many trials and tribulations since the virus and solar flares have wiped out most of humanity. There is constant fear of the military finding them, the infected zombies and a new threat the rat like creatures. Olivia, Jake and Zander have all been infected with the virus but found the antidote (book 1) to halt the progression on the virus. The special skills that they have acquired will help them to survive.
The book is action packed and leaves the reader to wonder what this group of people have done to have endured so much. They are constantly looking over their shoulders and meeting obstacles at every turn. They are discovering themselves as they go but fighting internal demons. Ty gets shot by a madman and needs a blood transfusion to survive. Liv decides to provide that blood only to find out her blood has healing properties and Ty heals overnight from his injuries. Twists, turns and secrets. What more does a story need.
Throughout this book we get to glimpse what Lucas has been going through and what adventures he has been having. The dual story lines keeps the book moving along and I found myself trying to get through each of the pages to get to the ending.
Each character is highly developed and you find yourself wanting to know all of their secrets. Trying to understand what is going on with the military, Eli and Lucas keeps the reader engage and on the edge of their seat. I highly recommend this book.

Oh my holy hell!!!!

You know when you finish a book and your emotions are so over the place, you can’t even comprehend where to start when writing a review?
Well, that has been me since I finished reading.
After reading Killshot I wandered how in the hell Aria could top it, but by god has she surpassed any and all expectations I could have ever had.
There is literally nothing I can say that will give Aria and Ballistic the justice it truly deserves.

Picking up right after Killshot finished, we are thrown back into Liv, Zander and the gang's journey to find 'Beans' and salvation. With the continuous threats along the way from both the after effects of Icarus and the people who you'd think are there to help, they are sure in for a long and dangerous road ahead of them.

The imagery...so vivid, the attention to detail suckers punches you in the gut and leaves you breathless.
You don't just read words on a page, you are transported into that world. You feel the heat of the flame, you smell the corpses; the decay. It takes over your mind, your senses. It's like watching a film play out right in front of your eyes.
This is not just a book. This is art. this is a masterpiece; a piece of literacy magic that grips you and refuses to leave. And by hell is it a piece you want to submerge yourself in.

I don't know what else to tell you, you can't just take my word for it. You need to experience it for yourself. Believe me, you will not be disappointed at all.

When I read Killshot (Book 1) I couldn’t believe that I was reading Sci Fi. Not my usual genre of books to read. But, after reading it I knew I had to read Ballistic (Book 2 in the Icarus Series) I needed to know what happened to everyone with the cliffhanger that I was left with in Book 1. I am very happy to say that I really enjoyed Ballistic!

The lead characters are teenagers and after the Solar Storm Icarus most of the world has been left dead. Liv (Sarge) yes you guessed it. She is in charge and she is only 17 but, she is a tough kid. She has been infected with the virus and struggles to fight off the beast that is now inside her. I will let you read the synopsis for more.

But if you like Sci Fi I think this is a very good book. If someone like me loved this book and I say I don’t do Sci Fi but, apparently I do now. I would say that this is a must read. Although, please read Killshot first. There is so much that goes on in these books and Ballistic is not a standalone. And, there is a huge cliffhanger at the ending of Ballistic too. I hope we don’t have to wait too long before the 3rd book in this series is out.

I am so happy that I had the opportunity to read both books in the Icarus series.

I received Ballistic as a complimentary copy for an honest review and I give it 5 STARS. I will definitely read more from this author.

I received a free ecopy of this book for an honest review.

I just finished reading Killshot, the first book in the Icarus series, and I immediately start reading Ballistic. Even before Chapter One starts, I found out that Liv’s little brother, Lucas (or Beans as she calls him) is alive. At least that means she and her friends aren’t on a worthless mission to find him. Chapter One begins where Killshot left off.

Ballistic explains more about how the virus has affected people as well as the government’s role in it. But there is so much more to this book. Liv and her friends meet one obstacle after another. There are several twists and just when you think you’ve figured this world out, something else happens. All Liv wants to do is to find her brother and to keep her friends safe. She’s still a good leader but the virus is causing scary changes in her.

Some new characters are introduced in Ballistic. Actually, a couple of them, Eli and Ty, were introduced in Killshot but they play major roles in this book. And Liv’s brother, Lucas, is just as strong as she is…and he’s only 8 years old!

I definitely recommend Ballistic. I suggest reading Killshot first to get the full effect of the story. Aria Michaels has done a great job at making a new post apocalyptic world that is not only full of action and emotion, but shows both the good and bad that could come out in people in this type of situation.

Talk about a highly anticipated sequel! Seems like I waited impatiently for ages before this masterpiece was finished and let me tell you, it was well worth the delay!

Ballistic begins right where Killshot left off. Michaels doesn't give a lot of review, so if it's been awhile since you finished Killshot, it might be a good idea to reread it or at least skim over the basics. Seems like with the first book covering the big event that there wouldn't be too many surprises left for the group this time. Wrong! (Scritters!) Just when you think that she's given the main group enough obstacles and tested their strength and resolve to the breaking point, they're pushed even further. Liv is still as tough and magnificent as ever, taking the lead and handling the cursed life she now lives with incredible determination and resolve. We're given part of the story from Beans perspective, and Liv's little brother is just as gutsy, endearing, and as much of a natural leader as she is.

I loved this entire book, from the amazing artwork on the front cover to the final scene that can easily cause an ugly cry. Michaels has created a striking second novel that is an absolute must read! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Excited didn't even begin to cover what I felt when I heard that this book was finally finished. I have been waiting for this for a year! After reading KILLSHOT, the first book in the series, I knew that the next one was going to be epic. Boy, was I right!

It started off where the last book ended. After Icarus hit, Liv knew he had to find his brother, Beans. They were now in the middle of finding him, and have encountered more than their fair share of twists and turns. There's a new group of survivors they have met, helped, and now together, they set out to the place where they are holding Beans. They just have to figure out how to get to him without sounding any alarms, or worse, get caught. Who knew what kind of science experiment they'd do to them in there.

Fair warning. When you start this, make sure you have no previous engagements, chores, or any type of 'adulting' to do. Ballistic will hook you from page one! It is very hard to put down! You can definitely finish this in one sitting. It is a bite-your-nails, edge-of-your-seat kind of read! A brilliantly written sequel that will have you turning the pages until the book is over, and needing more!

Ballistic (Icarus 2) Aria Michaels

### 5 Heart-Pounding Hashtags ###

Where the hell do I start, the first book - I had no idea what I was in for and it totally blew my socks off ! I never thought for one minute that this second book would or could compare in slightest. How very wrong I was ... this book is simply amazing.

This book is so perfectly written I was completely drawn in and immersed once again into Liv and Zander's messed up world. This book is full of angst, drama, tension and proper edge of your seat, nail biting moments - I loved every single minute.

If action packed, post-apocalyptic books are your thing then these books should be at the very top of your tbr list!

I'm not giving away any spoilers away but bewarned there is yet another big cliffhanger that leaves you shouting loudly at your kindle like a mad person, I need the next book now.

Do you know those books that just grab ahold of you on the first page, drags you through the mud with blood and tears right up until the end where you feel like throwing your ereader and begging for more? That's Ballistics. Honestly if I could I would keep Aria Michaels locked in her writing cave doped up on coffee and chocolate so she could just write, legally I can't...so I wait and stalk her on social media.

Ballistics is book 2 in the Icarus series and you need to grab book 1 so you know what is going on in the storyline and you can get attached to the characters. This series is a totally new twist on the young adult dystopian genre, it's packed full of action but the emotions you get from Liv and her want just to protect the ones she loves really draws you into the story. It kept me on the edge of my seat and my finger was on fire to turn the pages so I could devour it all. The writing flows effortlessly and the storyline and characters keep you engaged. I'm excited for book 3 and more from Aria Michaels.

The next book in the epic saga of Liv Larson brings their group into to more danger and some answers to the questions they have about what the hell is going on around them since Icarus plunged the world into chaos.

As always, I love Liv’s determination and courage as she tries to hold onto her humanity while protecting everyone at the same time. Can you imagine trying to protect those you love when you almost can't control yourself? It would be horrible/tough, yet Liv chokes down her guilt at putting others in harms way and continues to lead. The newly introduced characters are all different and I’m interested to see what happens to them in the next installment. In this type of story, almost no one is safe (even with Louie swinging around)!

My only complaint is that book three isn’t out yet.

I can't breathe from all the snotty, ugly girl crying from reading this book.
Ballistic picks immediately after book one, and there is no rest for the group.
Liv is still trying to reach Beans, and will allow NOTHING to stand in her way.
I was wondering how Michaels was going to keep me on my toes, surely she let it all go in Book One?
Ok, so the next time I see her I'm pinching her for keeping me up all night! Woman don't you know I have to work tomorrow!?!?
For real though, Aria Michaels is so freaking amazing... this isn't a simple weaving of a story, this series is an entire work that enthralled and pulled me inside, made me react and feel as though I was there! Book One did the same thing, I am STILL watching the news for solar flares and preparing accordingly!

OMG So well worth the wait!! This series is a must read, not something I normally read but once I started I was hooked and patiently waited for this book! This book starts where the last left off with everyone on their way to find Liv's brother. The reader also gets to meet him and find out what he's doing. What happens in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat, make you cry, and curse the author at the end. Yup I yelled at my kindle.

The surprises in this book you just don't expect and make you wonder how the author did it. The new characters introduced are great and you learn so much! Be prepared to not want to put it down once you start! A definite must read!! So can't wait for the next book, patiently of course.

As always Aria Michaels draws you into her apocalyptic world. The story picks up right where it left off and Liv is desperate to find Beans or to at least know he is alive. Beans is desperate to save his new family and himself. I found myself enjoying Beans development and rooting the little guy on! Aria makes you love her characters. By the last page, I was weeping with and for the characters. More of the story behind the apocalypse has begun to reveal itself. Is there a conspiracy? More than one? I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

Loved this sequel to Killshot from the first page! Lots of action, great character development & amazing action and descriptions. I especially love kick-ass heroines, and Liv does not disappoint. Speaking of kick ass heroines, there are some fantastic new characters introduced in this story, and I really liked the character of Tessa. The ending was the perfect way to wrap up the book, while still leaving you wanting more.

She is a wonderful writer. This book is the second in the series. I dont do a lot of recap because of spoilers. I just share my thoughts and if i liked the book. I love this one.

I just finished Ballistic and it was amazing! What a rollercoaster ride! I won't get into the details but you definitely want to read this book! The action, the twists and turns... once you start you won't be able to put it down until it's done and even then you will want more!

I received a copy of Ballistic in exchange for an honest review

This series is by far one of my top favorites! Aria never disappoints when it comes to her writing babies! If you love dystopian or have never read it before, then this series will draw you in and make your imagination come to life! Can't wait for the next one!
