Gwendolyn finds a mysterious staircase that seems to lead up to an attic in the new house she and her family are touring in Tucson where they are moving. The current owner of the house dismisses the old room and says they wouldn’t be interested. Instead the lady leads them over to the inground pool in the backyard where Gwendolyn’s brother is already swimming and playing. He throws a ball out that lands in a pond with a waterfalls. She tries to retrieve it when she catches sight of a girl’s face in the water that seems to sink down under the surface and disappear.

What’s going on here? No wonder the previous owners are so anxious to sell the property that makes chills go up her spine. What are her parents getting themselves into?
