Royal Heartbreaker #1

Leopold - Part One

Rate this book
When I accidentally wished for my own Prince Charming, I never expected him to actually show up. Not here in South America--not at the crappy charity clinic where I work.

But life never is as simple as making a wish—and while Prince Leopold is definitely charming, he’s also cocky. And arrogant. And a huge playboy. He’s everything I’ve promised myself I’d stay away from.

So why can’t I seem to resist him?

There’s no way Prince Leo is actually interested in a normal girl like me. No way he’ll ever be able to overcome his womanizing ways to be the prince of my dreams. And the more time I spend with him, it’s clear he has almost as many secrets as me.

I’m only sure of one thing—if I give him what he wants, he’s going to break my heart.

Ohhhhhh I kind of dig that this book did not have ONE sex scene in it. I personally love the long lead up to the getting to know you and have missed reading a book like this. I love that Elle is a Doctor, but does not really have her life together and that she ran away from her real life to help others. I love that she is not easily swayed by the charms of Prince Leo. Awwwww that Prince Leo.....where to start with him....I have a feeling I am gonna love his back story once I get to learn what he is all about. I think he may surprise Elle in the long run. I enjoyed this book on some many levels, it was refreshing not to read just all about sex (Ekkkkkk I know right that is what i said) LOL.
I can not wait for the next book :)

This was only part one and so far I like it. We will have to see how the rest go. I do like Elle and Leopold. Of course he is your typical cocky hot guy. She is a doctor for the clinic. That is how they meet. Now that the ending has gone that way it will be interesting to see how the next part is going to go. Thankfully I already own it.

Cute

This was a cut story. I was rather glad that they didn't immediately end up in bed together. That was a change of pace.

Elle is a young doctor working in a clinic in a small South American town. She is smart and sweet and cares deeply for the people she is caring for.
Leopold is a cocky, arrogant Prince who is sent to the clinic his family funds to check up on things.
Elle is definitely not happy to have to the playboy at the clinic.
While their chemistry is off the charts both have secrets that they are hiding. Elle is very reluctant to start something with the prince. She is running from something but what? Leopold also has a secret and it appears that he was sent to the clinic for reasons other than checking up on the clinic.
This is a short, yet very enjoyable read. I am anxiously awaiting book 2.

ARC REVIEW........
Didn't think I would have the time to do the review of this book but as soon as I started reading about Elle and Leo - I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I love Leo's snarky comments and how he just keeps at Elle enough - trying to push her for more. Her brother is a great character in this book - offering you a little laughter and at the same time - making you want to smack him if he was your little brother. I am anxious for the next part of this series to be release. It will be great to see what both Elle and Leo are holding onto from their past!!!!

I can not remember the last time that I read anything that was simultaneously silky smooth and like a carnival ride; flowing like a lazy river one moment and the bottom dropping out the next.

When a Prince finds himself like a fish out of water in the jungle, unable to attain the one thing he desires, the clinic doctor...well, let the games begin!

Renna Peak and Ember Casey should be grounded. At the very least, chained to their computers until they have this entire series ready for the world!

For the past year, Ellie aka Eleanor Parker has been working as a Doctor in the Children's clinic in Rio De Campo, South America. When she arrived, she was surprised to see it in the state it was especially since the royal family was funding it. Now a week before her contract ends, she is visited by the Royal Family in the form of Prince Leopold who has been sent from Moltovia to take a look at the finances and to see where the families money for the clinic is going and whether it has been used properly. He gets a shock as the clinic is run down and not what he expected and nor was the doctor. Leo gets on the wrong foot of Elle by accusing her of misappropriating funds and then as the day gets on, he soon discovers how wrong he was and where the money is going. As in this small town, the patients can't afford care, and so Elle doesn't believe she should charge them the astronomical prices, and if someone needs proper hospital treatment, she uses the funds or her salary to pay for them. I liked Ellie but had hoped we could learn why she had taken this position in the first place. I have to admit normally I love the royals and princes but I found it hard to like Leo's character. He just seemed too much of a jerk, and I found him far too arrogant. It's like Ok, we get it you are part of the royal family but dial it down a bit, nobody cares. Part #1 ends on a cliffhanger where we meet the new upcoming Doctor who is taking over Ellie's position. I am in two minds about continuing as I love to see what develops with Ellie and Leo but their characters aren't grabbing me as much as I had originally hoped.

A quick and easy read. I enjoyed the story line. Some parts were a bit dull but overall I give it 4 stars. I like that it isn't one of those cliché stories about a prince. It's nice reading about a Doctor as the main character with the prince for a change. Although she isn't actually with him; she refuses to be with him. The authors did a nice job at the end with the cliff hanger too. I'm wondering what the new doctor is going to say now that he walked in as the Prince Leo and Elle are laying next to eachother on a gurney. There were a few little things that made the story falter but otherwise. A decent read.

My bad, did not realize this part of the series (and perhaps all of them) ended as a cliffhanger-which I avoid.

The h was impressive, the H may evolve from the entitled (no pun), narcissistic, emotionally adult he portrays. Don't know at this point. It is amazing that with oppressive heat; witnessing crippling poverty; witnessing that the only health care site in the area is lacking tools, supplies, medicines, staff, and vaccines, the only thing the H seems to be interested in are things related to sex with the h.

I have to say, this is one of the best love stories I have read in a long long time. Elle knows she is attracted to Leo the prince and Leo knows he is attracted to Elle. But all Elle sees is a womanizer as that is all she has ever read about him. What will happen? Will they come together? NO CLUE!!!! I have to read the next in the series to find out. This does leave you with a cliffhanger.

I liked this so much more than I expected. The relationship between Elle and Leo is fascinating, both of them holding tightly to their secrets and refusing to open up to one another. But both of them want more, so I'm curious to see where this goes. My only complaint is that it ends as cliffhanger, but since I have the complete collection, I can go ahead and read the next one. (All books are reviewed as part of the six-book collection.)

Not enough

I usually like cliffhangers. This is example when cliffhangers are not good. The second book is free, but the rest is not. I'm firm believer if the book is around hundred pages the price should be under $ 2.00.

I like story, but not enough to spend money on it. Understand authors work hard for the craft. I work hard for what spend my money on.

This one wasn't anything special, but it was still a nice read and I enjoyed it. Maybe if the characters were a bit more level-headed and not changed their minds (or behaved weirdly at times) like clothes, it'd skip the chasm to four stars. But it was a nice read and I think I'll read more from the set of these connected royal series, if it continues this way.

A quick read. Prince Leo is sent to check up on the children’s clinic his family opened in South Africa. Doctor Elle does what she can for her patients but it’s not enough. Most of them can’t afford to pay but she still treats them.
Leo & Elle feel an attraction immediately & flirting ensues.

I liked this novel but it got boring pretty quick. The irresponsibility and recklessness of the characters was repetitive, and Andrew definitely changed for the worse. There are definitely worse criticisms of this book, but I don’t care for the realism all too much. This is not a good novel, but it had issues I could tolerate.

Royal teaser

Royal heartbreak. I was disappointed that the story kept circling around Leo and then nothing it just ended. It left me wondering if I should buy the next book or skip it.

It's not that this was a bad book, it's just that overall, I didn't care about the characters or the story. Neither of them was particularly special or interesting, and I found myself just wanting to finish it because I had already invested time in it.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This was absolutely brilliant! What a hot and sweet, dirty treat! Leopold is a fabulous, hot yet heartwarming romance. One-click and you are in book-orgasm with Leo’s sexy talk. Leopold (Leo) Augustus Xavier Lothair is the handsome bad playboy Prince of Montovia, and he is cocky, arrogant, but Oh sooo smooth and sexy. Doctor Eleanor (Elle) Parker is the attractive young doctor from America that has a one year contract at the children’s clinic at Rio de Campo, SA, and she’s an audacious and feisty doctor. I laughed at times during the banter between Elle and Leo, and the chemistry between them is getting really sultry. Leo was sent to Rio de Campo to check on the condition of the clinic and the finances per his father, The King. Elle did not expect the royal family to send their son, the Prince to audit her finance books. Although Elle is attracted to the Prince, she is well aware that he is a playboy, and Elle has put up her defenses towards him. Elle’s contract ends in four days, what will happen by that time? Will Elle decide to leave when her contract is up? If Elle decides to leave, how will the Prince handle her departure? Will Prince Leo pursue Elle? Both Elle and Leo have secrets that they are hiding, and they do not want anyone to know of their secrets. What type of secrets could they be hiding? There are some twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The collaboration between Ember Casey and Renna Peak is amazing, and this story is well written. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Seriously!!!! Ember and Renna how can you leave me like this???? I'm dying to know what happens, and I was just getting to the HOT stuff!

But in all seriousness... I freaking loved this story. You have two people from two completely different worlds that end up together in the jungle of South America. Elle is a fiery little thing, that you are going to love about her. She's working in a clinic for children in a third world country and that's one thing I love about this book. She's trying to help people that don't have the means to help themselves. Everyday we take for granted what others might love to have. Reading her story was amazing!!! But I'm still waiting to find out why she went there.
As for Leo, that man is scrumptious and you just want to eat him alive!! Plus he's a Prince, so let's hope he gets his happily ever after. I enjoyed seeing his reactions to what Elle does, and how his families clinic is running. He comes off as cocky and arrogant, but I think he has this soft side to him that he keeps hidden. I really can't wait to see what happened back home, and why he was sent to the clinic. Elle and Leo will have you laughing at their banter, and their chemistry is off the charts. But, Elle just needs a little push in the right direction. I seriously couldn't get enough of these two, and the story line was fantastic!!

I swear Ember and Renna have an amazing series that everyone will love. It's funny, witty, sexy, and I know heartache will be coming soon. I'm am more than ready to finish the journey of Elle and Leo!
