A collection of four short stories that take place during the two week time jump between chapters 12 and 13 of "Say Yes to the Cheerleader."
Kate Monroe is excited about the beginning of a new relationship. When she and Haley Suarez go on dates ranging from disastrous to romantic she finds out that even if the best plans go horribly wrong it's not so bad with a cute girl by her side.
Abby Crofton has always enjoyed reading books with a 'happily ever after' and achieved a long time dream by writing and publishing her first book, "Say Yes to the Cheerleader." She currently lives on the East Coast of the U.S. and enjoys snuggling with her girlfriend, leisurely hikes, and writing.

Adorable relationship development and I liked getting Kate's perspective instead of Haley's. The dates were adorable and the development between friendships was lovely. The last date felt a little more rushed than previous ones and the ending felt abrupt in some ways, but overall very enjoyable and do recommend for fluff factor.
I normally make it a rule never to read these books in between the main series but I have real all the others in the series and I so like the say yes series I decided to make an exception - I was not disappointed, I am really enjoying these books, just the right amount of humor minimum of drama and angst and a happy ending. Like Kate, sometimes you just gotta eat a chocolate scone. When is the next in the series due - Abby, we are waiting.
This book (more like a collection of short stories) is a midquel to Say Yes to the Cheerleader and takes place near the end, after the first date. Unlike the main book, which is from Haley's perspective, these extra dates are from Kate's perspective, which took some getting used to, but it's nice to get her side of things. These two have the worst, most annoying friends, though (crashing their date? again? really?), and should just ditch them.
The Missing Dates: Say Yes to the Cheerleader Short Stories (The Say Yes Series Book 1.5) -- Abby Crofton (4 chapters)
Neither this book or the last book contains any sexual situations (beyond what is typical, normal high school dating: kissing and touching.) I would definitely recommend this series to YA lesbian readers.
This set of short stories takes place between later chapters in the first book in this series, and uses the voice of the opposite character. The use of the cheerleader's POV was a nice, pleasant surprise. I enjoyed seeing through her eyes for this short stories.
I recommend the reader reads book one first before reading this. Mainly because it gives away some plot from the first book, but also because the first book sets these scenes and characters up.
