Wonderland is a world of wonders, a world where fairy or elf-like creatures and humans meet and talk with one another. Wonderland is a world where a baby is transformed into a pig; it is a place where a Cheshire-Cat keeps disappearing and reappearing, until only his grin remains — and even that suddenly disappears!
The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.
His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.
Really fun version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It's a junior classics version, so it is adapted and abridged. I felt that it kept the core of the story without making it feel like I missed too much. I have a collection of Alice books, which includes these smaller condensed versions. It had a lot of cute illustrations, which I enjoyed. I had a good laugh out of the caterpillar looking similar to Danny Devito. All in all, it was really great for an abridged version.
Rating - 5/5 Copyright - 2014 Themes - Alice, mad hatter, triumph, bravery I loved this book, I think it would be a great book just to read in class for fun. I think that is very important to have books in the classroom that are just simply fun. My favorite part of the book was that I could think of the movie while I read the book, but I was also surprised by different elements that were not depicted in the movie. This is an amazing book!
