AJ grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She is the third of six children and her first exposure to romance was her parents. Now married for almost 55 years, they have always been her example when working on her own marriage and parenting skills. Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters and Georgette Heyer, were the writers she grew to love in adolescence and still loves now. Her list of favorite authors now has grown to include, not only historical but also contemporary authors as well. Sadly, she doesn’t have as much time to indulge in novels as much as she would like. Her family and now writing her own novels, keeps her very busy, but you will always find a book on her nightstand. Other hobbies include cooking, one her favorite television shows is The Next Iron Chef on Food Network, and traveling, the UK and the Caribbean her favorite places to visit. She and her husband of 28 years, reside on the west coast of the USA and have two grown children, making them empty-nesters, and recently adopted a rescued puppy, Max, from the local humane society.
Tied together by their shared locale, Passion in Portland is 20 unique shorts written by 20 authors. Some standalone, while others tie in with the authors' previous work.
Overall rating: 4 Stars Individual Ratings and Reviews:
Stay With Me – A.J. Downey - 5 Stars Stay With Me by A.J. Downey is a complete short, a prequel story for A.J. Downey's Virtues' Trilogy. Corrine and Dominic meet in unlikely circumstances, her past pulling her away from him, but he never leaves her mind. When she finds out he hadn't forgotten her they embark on a romantic journey together. This one was cute, I love that it was complete, introducing both characters and giving readers a glimpse of Downey's writing style if they are to continue on with her series. The story was believable, heartbreaking, and definitely romantic.
Falling Backwards – A.K. Layton - 4 Stars Friends to lovers romance for the win! This one was definitely a fun read and though the heroine Allyea is a bit all over the place it is truly an impressive short. I could easily read an extended novel of this one.
Mr. Wright Write Right – AJ Harmon - 3.5 Stars Chaser – Alex Rosa - 3 Stars
Kiss Cam – Anie Michaels - 4.5 Stars The premise behind this one is too good, definitely something you'd see being shared all over Facebook if it really happened. I really enjoyed Anie Michael's writing style and the differences between the two characters as they found one another. Give me Camden!
Honest Liar – Anna Brooks -3.5 Stars
To Portland, With Love – Cassia Leo - 5 Stars I was so happy to revisit Rory and Houston and see where they are at in life now. Cassia Leo did a great job of bringing the story of these two back to life, providing new readers enough information to get them up to speed on the couple and allowing old fans a chance to remember (they're unforgettable, really). There's mild drama, steamy chemistry, and a dream come true for Rory. Navigating the waters of marriage isn't easy, especially if one of you owns a business and the other is a full time author, and I think Cassia did an incredible job on this short.
Kind of Crazy – Eliza Boyd - 4 Stars Poker in Portland – Gretchen S.B. - 3.5 Stars Stronger – Heather Carver - 3 Stars
More ratings to come! Love at First Crepe – Heidi Mason When in Portland – Jaycee Ford The Soviet and the Scientist – Kimberly Kennedy Port in the Storm – Mary Crawford Shy – Morgan & Jennifer Locklear Forever Yours – Nicole Richard Chasing Leigh – R.J. Van Cleave The Ephemeral – Sarah M. Cradit We Have Portland – Sidonia Rose Love in Government Camp – Stace Lee
I was given a copy of the anthology and have only had the chance to read a few of the stories. When I can get to the others I will leave a review.
Kiss Cam: Way too short! I received a copy to review for the Passion in Portland Anthology and read Anie's first. Kiss Cam is funny, smart, sweet and sexy. Her characters are awesome, even Hadley is perfect as Riley's BFF. Camden is the perfect book guy: great career, cool car and condo, and a normal personality. This novella is perfect for an evening read or in between read, just makes you feel good.
To Portland, With Love: Part of a trilogy this novella was included in the Passion in Portland Anthology. Having never read the trilogy I was still able to follow and enjoy the story. Rory is having her first book signing and Houston, her husband, is giving her nonsense about not contributing around the house. They experience the same frustrations as any married couple trying to raise a family, have a sex life, and have a career. I received a review copy with the anthology.
When in Portland: I loved this one! Recently divorced and looking for herself she ends up in Portland at a BnB hanging with the guests. An invitation for drinks at a local bar leads to a flannel bearded guy with geeky glasses and flirty personality. Their story is a full novella with Portland landmarks and left me buzzing with tingles.
Confession: It takes me forever to read anthologies. I like to read the stories in small bites -- like going to a tapas restaurant for my reader-brain. (Okay, that makes no sense.)
I started the Passion in Portland anthology with the following two stories.
Kind of Crazy by Eliza Boyd - The highlight of Alexa's spur of the moment trip to Portland is a whirlwind vegan-restaurant food tour. Or is it? With the help of her mysterious, handsome, and coincidentally, vegan rideshare driver, "Nicolas," Alexa sees another side of Portland and learns a bit about herself.
I loved this story by Ms. Boyd. Alexa is complex and real and I WANT MORE of her and Nicolas. This short story is not enough. Hint-Hint.
Stronger by Heather Carver - Marissa restarts her life in paradise. Literally. The day her divorce papers were signed, she hopped on a flight to fulfill her dream of visiting Hawaii and find some peace with this new phase of her life. What she found was handsome physician Brad, whose unexpected friendship left her wondering about what could have been as she heads back to her new single life in Portland. She could never predict what, or rather, who happens into her life when she gets back home.
I was excited to read Ms. Carver's debut published work. She made a connection between two people who may never have met, but for fate and luck and a chance to find love. -------------
Congratulations to all of the authors in this anthology. I'll be reading you soon!
I have read every single one of Anie's books and have loved them all so I knew I had to read this story! And to have it within an anthology is icing on the cake! Now...on to Camden and Riley's story.
It all started with a break-up. At a basketball game. During halftime. But then there is a kiss between strangers that could be the start of something new. They might have started off as complete strangers but by the end of the game, Camden wants to know more about the woman that he shared one amazing kiss with. And yelled at players along side of. Laughed with. Only if Riley would stop being so stubborn and go out with Camden on one date!
Riley likes Camden but they are from two different worlds. She doesn't think she could fit in his world of dinner parties and fast cars. But, Camden doesn't want her to think of it that way. He might be a lawyer but he also loves the game of Skee-Ball. And she can't deny the chemistry they share but can Camden prove to her that she should not judge a book by its cover?
I loved this novella! It's sweet, sexy, and fun read. Camden is yummy and Riley is one sassy lady :-)
Quotes:
“The day someone tells me I look like a lawyer is the day I have my first life crisis.”
“An e-mail? Who are you? Tom Hanks? Is this the year 2000?”
“It’s fine,” he said with a sincere smile. “I’m just going to have to get used to talking to someone with a personality.”
I've yet to read the full anthology - I'm very much looking forward to it though as I love Portland and I've a feeling they're all going to be great.
I have had the pleasure of reading Mary Crawford's Port in the Storm and if it's any kind of preview for the rest of the Anthology then I know I'm in for a real treat!
Both characters feel young, but down to earth and I find myself rooting for both of them. It's very easy to get attached and relate to them! I actually came to love Sam when I got a little taste of him in Sheltered Hearts so it's great to get more of his story... so I’ll admit, I had some love for this book before I even read it. Sam is a sweet, geeky guy, just my type so I can totally see why Taylor might take to him, despite her crappy past experience. He isn’t just kind to her though, he really helps her to move on from her not-so-sweet past.
If you read Crawford, you’ll need to include this one – it’s loaded with familiar characters (which for me makes it even more fun) and lots of fun is packed into a quick read. I feel like even if it were longer, it’d feel this way because it flows very well. Giving us just a glimpse into Sam & Taylor’s lives, it still manages to wrap everything up nicely. She could easily write more and turn this into a prequel down the line OR completely leave it alone – perfectly satisfying as is. Recommend.
4.5 stars. Will update this as I read the rest of the anthology!
I am determined to read all of the stories in this anthology but I am writing the reviews for the ones that I did read.
To Portland, with Love by Cassia Leo: I really liked The Story of Us trilogy. Rory and Houston are great and it was so wonderful to catch up with them and see how they’re doing. We got to see them in their daily routines and how married life is treating them. Not everything is as peachy as you would think but with Rory and Houston they are determined to make it work and to give it their all. This was a great novella and an enjoyable read.
Kind of Crazy by Eliza Boyd: This was a very entertaining read. I liked Alexa and how she made the decision to go to Portland. The banter between her and Nicolas was fantastic. I also really liked how they spent time together-it was great. The story flowed really nicely and I very much enjoyed it.
Though I have only read the two stories, I still did enjoy them and I am excited to read the rest.
Was gifted this for an honest review. I will be very honest and say I haven't read the whole anthology but hope to get time to go back and read the whole thing at some point. Ok now on to why I wanted to read this anthology. Cassia Leo has a story in here and it is part of a series of her's I've read and adored so of course I needed to read this part of the story. I was not disappointed at all. Cassia is an amazing author and if you haven't read her before just getting a small glimse of her world you get from reading her story should make you want to read the rest of the story. I love reading more of two of my favorite characters I've read one more story now Jaycee Ford's and it was also a wonderful read. I hope to find time to read the rest as I've heard great things of all the authors in this Anthology
Let's start with this beautiful cover!!! I absolutely love it!!! I really like this anthology because not only are you supporting a wonderful cause when you purchase it but I also really enjoyed reading authors that are new to me!
I'm going to review To Portland with Love by Cassia Leo!!!! LOVED!!! I'm a major fan of her The Story of Us series and we dive right back into a world I love so much with Rory and Houston!!! Sigh....it was so wonderful to be back with one of my favorite couples.....We've been through quite a journey with them so having a peek into their day to day life, marriage, career and struggles was amazing. Cassia never disappoints and of course that Rory Houston emotion and chemistry was back in full effect!! I highly recommend for other lovers of this series and especially to new fans!!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. What a great book! All the stories were great. I especially loved 'To Portland, with Love' by Cassia Leo. I am a big fan of The Story of Us book series. It was a great honor to have it paired up with the these great stories. Tons of fun, and entertainment. Thank you for the awesome anthology!
I have not finished the whole anthology yet but I will leave a review for what I have. I read the novella Jaycee Ford wrote. Quinn and Walt are so cute together. after reading this I really want to go to Portland and see the sites that were named. I wish I got more of their story cause I was hanging off ever word written. I loved it. As I finish the others I will edit my review
This short story is my first introduction to A.J. Harmon’s work and it definitely won’t be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed the quirky characters and the adorable story that unfolded between them. Mr. Wright Write Right follows indie romance author Gina as she navigates her first book signing and the world of writing. I loved the familiarity that this setting created and found myself grinning at the inclusion of so many things I’ve grown to adore about this crazy, fun community. The tension between Gina and Jackson and the hilarious and sassy banter that came from their awkward encounters kept me laughing while I devoured their great and unexpected love story.
A.J. Harmon easily pulled me in with her witty and smart writing only to totally hook me with the honest emotion that poured from the pages. I loved the vulnerability that Gina showed and it made me appreciate the plight of the self-published author that much more. Even Jackson had me feeling for him, despite the initial less-than-stellar impression he made. Both characters felt genuine and I found myself falling for them because of the flaws they demonstrated and the earnestness with which their relationship developed. A.J. Harmon has definitely impressed me with her ability to captivate the reader, cultivate relationships, and develop her characters all within so few pages. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future because she definitely left me wanting more of Gina and Jackson!
***Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels***
Anie Michaels has me totally hooked on Camden and Riley! Despite the length limitations of a short story/novella, Kiss Cam has it all. I’m blown away by the emotional depth and complex storybuilding Anie Michaels has managed to deliver in such few pages. Kiss Cam is witty, smart, and undeniable sexy, introducing us to Camden and Riley and their amusing first meeting in a way that leaves you begging for more. These two shared a palpable tension that was instant and overwhelming. An easy friendship and natural chemistry, along with some seriously fantastic banter has me wholly addicted to this memorable couple. Camden and Riley were undeniably tangible, living out their story in the real world where twenty-somethings go to basketball games and drink beer at the local pub. This couple came across as comfortable and familiar, allowing me to invest myself in them wholeheartedly. Anie Michaels rounds out Camden and Riley’s world with Hadley and Justin, their hilarious and lovable best friends who make the ride that much more fun with their good-natured teasing and shameless quips.
The best thing about Kiss Cam is the potential for more that Anie Michaels has so skillfully built into this story. Not only do we get to fall in love with Riley and Camden’s unconventional introduction and the ensuing chase but Anie also teases readers with the possibility of clashing social climates, feelings of inadequacy, and general angst. She expertly drops hints at Riley’s insecurities regarding Camden’s wealth and prestige along with notes of discord between Camden and his father. These details not only give this story a surprising depth, but also promise readers a complicated road ahead for this couple. I can only hope we’ll be seeing more of Riley and Camden in the future! Kiss Cam is phenomenally written, effortlessly bringing this story to life and leaving me no choice but to lose myself in the author’s words. Anie Michaels infuses this story with heart and humor, giving Riley and Camden distinct voices that demand to be heard and felt. I’m truly surprised by how invested I am in this adorable couple already. Full of enchanting characters, hilarious banter, plenty of genuine emotion, and an unforgettable storyline, Kiss Cam is undoubtedly one of the most satisfying short stories I’ve read in a long time.
***To Portland, With Love by Cassia Leo***
Rory and Houston are back in To Portland, With Love! This sexy little short for The Story of Us Series brought back all the feels of this couple’s tumultuous journey. I absolutely adored seeing Rory and Houston settled into their happily ever after. The heat between these two still sizzled off the pages and Cassia Leo once again managed to make me blush with Houston’s deliciously filthy mouth. Scorching encounters aside, life isn’t all sunshine and roses for Rory and Houston. Cassia Leo doesn’t shy away from the stresses of juggling a marriage, two children, and burgeoning careers. The ensuing bickering and misunderstandings, while certainly frustrating, made this couple feel incredibly genuine and further confirmed the depth of their devotion to one another with their willingness to fight for their relationship each and every day.
In addition to seeing the life that Rory and Houston have built together, we get a glimpse into Rory’s writing career as she prepares for her first book signing. Her success, after everything she’d been through, and the subject of her novel, proved to be deeply satisfying for fans of The Story of Us Series. My heart swelled with pride for Rory. Mindy and Mike were a little bit of a surprise and I needed a little more on the relationship Rory and Houston had with their neighbors, especially since they ended up being a point of discomfort for Rory. While To Portland, With Love lacked the emotional intensity I’ve come to love from Cassia Leo, it definitely had its moments of honesty that made my heart ache and flutter. If anything I found myself missing this couple and wishing this story had a few more pages. Fans of Cassia Leo’s unforgettable series will undoubtedly enjoy another dose of Rory, Houston, and a few other familiar faces. To Portland, With Love is a sexy and sweet treat that will have you ready for a reunion with Rory and Houston.
***When in Portland by Jaycee Ford***
Jaycee Ford delivers her own twist on romance with When in Portland. While there is certainly all the excitement of a blossoming new relationship, it is Quinn’s journey of self-discovery that takes center stage in this short story. Recently divorced, Quinn sets out on her own for the very first time, heading to Portland on a new adventure. As she settles into her new life, she begins to fall in love with the city, with herself, and eventually with someone new. I adored the premise of this story, finding Quinn incredibly relatable and easy to invest in. Jaycee Ford’s writing is thoughtful and full of heart, demonstrating a maturity and self-awareness that captured the introspective tone of Quinn’s journey. When in Portland may be my first taste of this author’s work but it will definitely not be my last.
Quinn meets some colorful characters upon her arrival in Portland and I enjoyed their quirky contribution to her story. I was hoping we’d learn a little more about them, especially considering their fairly constant presence in her daily life. When Walt enters the picture, I found myself very much intrigued by his laidback and friendly demeanor. He may have stolen my heart when he turned out to be a fellow booklover. I really wanted to get to know him better, especially since Quinn felt so connected to him, but the story just never really got to that point unfortunately. I did appreciate the slow build-up between Walt and Quinn. Most short stories have a quick and intense insta-love that feels forced or superficial, but these two simmered for a bit while they got to know each other and Quinn got to know herself again. All in all, When in Portland was a well-written, sweet, and entertaining story that definitely left me wanting more of Quinn and Walt.
This Anthology has TWENTY, yes twenty amazing Authors all in one book. I will be reading each and every story. I will place my reviews of each book here as I finish them.
Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels.... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels!!! I seriously busted out laughing when reading this fast paced, feel good book. The very first few pages will make anyone reading it bust out with laughter. The chemistry of the two main characters is playful and off the charts. The situation they are in is so realistic and it could totally happen. I really liked the way Anie Michaels wrote this story with so much detail, she places the reader right there along the characters in the story. This is a super fun read!
To Portland, With Love by Cassia Leo.... I was SO super excited to read this!! I absolutely love Rory and Houston. They are characters from one of Cassia Leo's previous books. Now the two are married and going on with their daily every day routines of the marriage life. I won't give anything away. However, I am super excited to read more and get to learn more about these two wonderful characters. Let me tell you that their chemistry is still off the charts HOT! I am so glad that Cassia Leo included Rory and Houston in this Anthology.
Stay With Me by A.J. Downey..... This was a new author for me. So I was very excited to start reading it. This is the unique story of Dominic Shepard and Corrine Tate. They meet in an unfortunate way. However after reconnecting sparks fly. It's a fast paced read that I did enjoy.
Falling Backwards by A.K. Layton..... Another new author for me. This is the story about best friends Lon and Allyea. They are both known for their one night stands. However, when one is tempted the other gets jealous and shares their true feelings for the other. What a great read! I was hooked from the first paragraph.
Mr. Wright Write Right by AJ Harmon..... Also a new writer for me. This story is about Jackson Wright, a cocky journalist with the local newspaper and Gina Walters, a romance author. When Gina goes to her very first author signing Jackson comes over to her author table to ask her a few questions. Things do not go the way as planned and Gina is not happy as to what Jackson tells her. This is a fun, short read that I really enjoyed reading.
Merged review:

This anthology consists of twenty unique and wonderful stories all tied together by the city of Portland. Independent of each other, some are standalones shorts while a few are continued from one of the author’s previous books.
I read a few of them so far and will be giving a short review for those…
Stay With Me – A.J. Downey, 5* Dominic and Corrine meet when he shows up to her house after an emergency call is made. The story is complete and gives us a clear picture of the characters and their lives. It had heartbreaking moments while still being romantic and believable.
To Portland, With Love – Cassia Leo, 5* Following Rory and Houston’s story, we are now given a glimpse of their life after marriage. Cassia gave enough background to bring new readers up to date while not making it repetitive for past readers, only refreshing their memory. We get some drama, yet nothing overly done. The chemistry is as spicy as ever and the love is clearly still evident. Cassia did a great job showing how difficult life can get while married with kids and trying to navigate full time careers.
We Have Portland – Sidonia Rose, 4* “Posey” is tired of the way people see her when they find out who her family is. This story shows us a woman changing her name to “Heather” to live a normal life away from the drama. She meets Tommy, the drummer in a rock band and their interactions are sweet, sexy, and full of mystery. When he finds out who she really is, a little drama ensues. Another fun read.
Love in Government Camp – Stace Lee, 4* Lori and Matt have been online chatting and have yet to meet in person or even talk on the phone. They are both adventurous and like many similar things. When a skiing adventure takes Lori and her friends to Government Camp, she wonders if she’ll meet someone while her thoughts bring her back to Matt. This story was charming. Some things seemed a bit too obvious, but the reading was enjoyable.
PASSION IN PORTLAND 2016 ANTHOLOGY is a timely release perfect for reading on the beach or at the pool–stories that are long enough to be a satisfying read, yet short enough to read in between margaritas
TOP TEN REASONS TO READ THIS BOOK
1. 20 stories by 20 talented authors 2. This quote from “When in Portland” by Jaycee Ford: “He reached across the little table and touched my book. My breath hitched very slightly, unnoticeable to anyone but me. His fingers grazed the spine, and I felt as if he touched my soul at the same time.” A MAN touching a BOOK. SWOON. 3. This quote from “Honest Liar” by Anna Brooks: “Instead of this glorious sunny afternoon in Portland being the first day for a fresh start, it’s turned out to be shit.” I mean who can’t appreciate that bluntness? 4. The stories are long enough to get your romance fix, but are short enough to allow for you know life. 5. Another quote from Jaycee Ford: “He leaned forward, the sweet taste of Old Dirty Bastard lingering on his lips.” Ok, that’s just funny. 6. This quote from “Chaser” by Alex Rosa: “His feral look softens as a few dumbfounded chuckles tumble from his mouth.” An awesome mix of hotness and humor. 7. Ok, so I really enjoyed Jaycee Ford’s story. I’m pretty sure I’ve done this before. Here’s another from her: “I dug through my bag and pulled out my compact, trying to wipe the buzz off my face.” 8. You’ll get a variety of perspectives on Portland. I’ve never been, so I found this an interesting aspect of the stories. 9. Another one from Ana Brooks: “I realize I’m partially insane staying here, but my radar didn’t go off, and it’s never steered me wrong before. My hormones are on high alert, but not my radar.” Ummm…her hormones are on sky high-red alert. One steamy story! 10. The range of romance in this book is excellent. Everything from funny to did I just blush?
From what I have read so far I am loving this great anthology. We get to read a little bit of something from 20 different authors. I really enjoyed the connection that each of them have to Portland.
AJ Harmon is the host author of the anthology and the proceeds go towards helping survivors of domestic violence. Great price for a great cause.
I was introduced to several new authors (new to me). I enjoy anthologies because it gives me a chance to discover these great authors and entices me to follow them and read more.
I have some favorites and will update my review as I finish the rest of the book.
To Portland with Love by Cassia Leo: 5 Stars We get to see a little more from Rory and Houston in this short story. As always the heat is off the charts and I really enjoyed seeing where they are at in their lives. Houston has a very dirty mouth that makes you melt. Of course they have their struggles like any married couple but they are very devoted to making their marriage work along with their careers. Loved it!
Falling Backwards by A.K. Layton - 4 stars This was a fun read of friends who become lovers. Would love to see more from this couple.
Stay With Me by A.J. Downey - 5 stars This is a prequel to the Virtues trilogy. This is an introduction to Corrine and Dominic and their romantic story. This will tug at your heart strings.
Port in the Storm by Mary Crawford This story will have you crying several times. Mary shows you in this story that love can be found when you least expect it. Tissues are a must with this story.
Again if your looking for a great set of romance stories this is your book. I highly recommend you 1-click and get started today.
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Passion in Portland Anthology is a collection of twenty short stories that benefit Bradley Angle, a non-profit organization for the survivors of domestic violence. All of the stories are set in lovely city of Portland. I read a story by one of the authors I had not read before and I have to say that I did love the story. I look forward to reading the rest when I have more time. Poker in Portland by Gretchen S. B. Poker in Portland is a sweet story about the unconventional path that Nick and Emma take to move their relationship from professional to personal. Nick is a baker who participates in a yearly poker tournament that is a scholarship fundraiser. As a past recipient of the scholarship Nick is proud to participate every year as a way to give back. The previous year ended in disaster for Nick when he discovered that his fiancé was having an affair with his best friend. A year later finds Nick in much better shape and wanting to prove to the two people that hurt him that he has moved past the events of last year. Nick concocts a plan to invite his bookkeeper Emma to accompany him to this year’s tournament and pretend to be his girlfriend. To his surprise Emma agrees to go along with his plan but what Nick fails to realize is that Emma is hoping to change the fake relationship into a real relationship. Emma has been secretly attracted to Nick for a long time but never felt it was the right time to tell him. She is hoping this weekend away is just the opportunity she has been hoping for. The only real negative that I have for this short story is that is really is a short story, the ending left me wanting more.
I have to admit that I love this Anthology. It is the best Anthology I’ve read so far. I was actually surprised that the stories were quite long for such an anthology but this made me love the book so much more. Normally I don’t like stories that are too short so this was really great to read stories that weren’t that short but also weren’t whole books. So it is really an amazing Book. (Although I was reluctant to buy it because I don’t really like the cover. But I’m so glad that I did.) My favourite stories were definitely Chaser by Alex Rosa and Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels. Although I haven’t read all stories yet…
So more comments/reviews to come…
Chaser by Alex Rosa 5 stars for this amazing “short” story OMG! I just sooo loved Chaser. I’ve already read some books of Alex Rosa and already loved them and Chaser just amazing! I felt drawn to the characters immediately and I just loved the story. It was funny and sexy and just great!
Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels Hot, sexy and funny story. 5 stars Kiss Cam is just so funny! I loved the story so much. The characters where witty and funny and I loved their funny chatter. It is a unique story and I would have loved to read more about Riley and Camen. They were really great and just so sexy. It is really an amazing "short" story!
Honest Liar by Anna Brooks 4 stars for Honest Liar I really liked Anna Brooks short story. It was sweet and sexy. Although for me it was a little bit too clique too lovey dovey in the end. But all together it was a sweet and nice story and I really liked it.
This is an anthology collection of twenty author's work

I enjoyed the journey of Tommy kelly drummer for for Five Myles Fools and Heather Richards a daughter of a wealth family. He struggles to get to the next step with her and she is convinced the she doesn't wanted more than a casual relationship until the night he learns the truth about her.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This anthology of short romantic stories has something for everyone. All the stories inside vary massively with them all having the main theme of Portland running through and linking them all. I have learnt that Portland is cold lol and full of love. The stories range from friends realising attraction to each other like in Chaser to chance encounters like in stay with me, from hating someone your attracted to like in Mr Wright writes right to married couples reinforcing their love in to Portland with love. There is steamy scenes in many like kiss cam where the steamy scenes felt so real and more PG in others like Chaser though don't get me wrong this story gives enough to tease and leave you begging for more to soft and romantic in honest liar. I loved all of these easy to read stories that are perfectly bite sized and is a great ways of finding new authors AK Layton asked me to read this anthology so I will give her review more depth.
AK Laytons contribution to the anthology is Falling backwards. I loved this easy to read short story about best friends and what happens when feelings start to grow and change, can you risk the friendship for something that could be so much more? Great story likeable characters and hot scenes
One of the reasons I love anthologies is by getting to read new authors (for me) and indulge in a quick read of their work. It's like getting a taste of their writing!
Passion in Portland, involves 20 stories from great authors, with one set in mind: Portland! The cause they are embracing is huge and memorable too.
I haven't read yet all the stories of this anthology, but I will write my review as I read them.
To Portland, with Love by Cassia Leo After reading all the books from Cassia Leo, I can say I am a big fan of her work. This story, is a complement of The Story of Us series, where we have Houston and Rory as the main characters of a very angsty story. Here we get an inside of their married life and particularly of Rory's work and dream job. Houston continues to be the devoted husband that left was all swooning for and Rory the sweet woman we all loved! It's great to have them back!
I have not finished the whole anthology but have read a couple of the stories. I will leave reviews as I complete the stories. The proceeds go to such a great cause. **Honest Liar by Anna Brooks*** I really enjoyed this story. This story is about Josey and Alex. This story has humor and sweet romance. I enjoyed how sweet Alex is and how he tries to protect Josey. The attraction is strong between Alex and Josey. This is short great read. **Mr Wright Write Right by AJ Harmon*** I enjoyed this short read. This story is about Jackson and Gina. I enjoyed the banter between Jackson and Gina. This story will have you feeling all sorts of emotions. I liked how the story unfolded. Received copy for honest review
A great collection of happily ever after tales that range in style and format due to the contribution of multiple authors the fact that all proceeds go to charity just made it even more enticing. Quick stories of love found in the most unique places, from best friends of the opposite sex to our heroes in uniform and more. Just when you thought it couldn't happen to you or with that person something opens the door to possibilities. Lots of laugh out loud moments and even a few tugs at the heart string, all in all one of the best grouping of stories I have come across in an anthology in a long time. It is more than worth the money and time you will spend because before it or not you are turning that last page and ending with a peaceful sigh of "aw man I'm done".
This anthology has 20 short stories by 20 authors. While I didn't get a chance to read all the stories before release day, I am looking forward to finishing the ones I wasn't able to get to.
The stories I did get to read were Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels, Mr. Wright Write Right by AJ Harmon, Stronger by Heather Carver, Honest Liar by Anna Brooks and When in Portland by Jaycee Ford.
I really enjoyed reading each one and my only complaint is that I wish I could get more on these characters!! I simply wasn't ready to let them go and would love to read any future book(s) they might be in! Great job ladies! Awesome anthology!!
OMG!!!!! This anthology was the best idea ever. I try to read something from every author attending an event. This made it so much easier. There were a lot of authors represented in the anthology. I didn't expect to enjoy them all, but I enjoyed a majority of them. This book is a bargain you don't want to miss. Even better it is all for charity. Kudos to all of the authors. Thank you for making my nights complete. The stories were amazing!!!!! They took place in the Portland area giving me a mini tour within the pages. Many of the stories left me swooning and excited for more. I can't wait to read more from some of the contributors.
This is a fantastic anthology. It has about 20 stories written by some amazing authors (several are written by some my favorite authors). Some of the stories are instalove, some are continuing love, but all of them are fantastic. I liked getting to read something different by Jaycee Ford as I love her Love Bug series. Reading this anthology has made me fall in love with Portland and I kind of want to move there now (lol). There is a great variety of stories in this set and there is something for everyone I believe. I highly recommend this anthology for anyone who likes romances. I was given this anthology in return for an honest review.
This anthology had twenty amazing stories in them from some amazing authors. While I only had the chance so far to read one story it was just amazing.
To Portland, With Love by Cassia Leo
This book is part of the Story of Us trilogy and it’s a short story in lives of Rory and Houston. It is told from both Rory and Houston’s POV. This part takes us forward to them as parents of their two kids and living in the suburbs and Rory writing her second book and promoting her first one.
This was a great short read and fun to catch up in the lives of The Cavanaugh’s.
Received an advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review
I was so excited to read Cassia Leo's story in Passion in Portland's anthology! I couldn't wait to read more Rory and Houston! We enter into their story a few years later when they are married and busy with life and kids. There story is raw and powerful and I just loved it! Cassia the story may not have been long but it touched my heart! I have always loved Cassia's writing and she did not disappoint! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars! I haven't had a chance to read all the other books but the one's I have are so good and if you haven't read these authors you should! Such a good cause the money from this book goes too!
Remember I'm not a big fan of anthologies. I am always left wanting more! Short stories are the devil. I need to know what happens next. Where do these characters go from here? They need more words, more memories, more time. This is probably also the reason I wait for a whole series to be released before I jump into that world. I might have a slight issue with cliffhangers too. Characters stress me out if I don't know what's happening with them. LOL With that being said I did enjoy these stories and the proceeds go to charity, which is always a plus. :)
We Re-enter Rory and Houston's world a year or two in the future.
This was a short day inn the life of this couple and I loved this small glimpse into their wedded bliss (or not lol). This story is raw and honest and not all hearts and flowers and I enjoyed that even our trusty fictional characters can have ups and downs in life just like us.
As always Cassia brings, sexy and angst into the mix even in this short read...
pick up this short story anthology to get a snippet of some old favourites.
