Kyle always said that firefighting gave his life purpose. Now that I’m alone I need that purpose in my life. I’m going to get the job. I just have to prove I’m the best. If Kyle can’t see that, it’s his problem not mine. I can work with him without my old feelings messing things up. Can’t I?
