Confessed

Good news, Peaches. Professed wasn’t a fluke! Nicola Rendell is the real deal as evidenced by her stellar second novel, Confessed. I loved Professed so much that I couldn’t wait to dig into Confessed, but I was a bit nervous too. What if Confessed wasn’t as great? So you can imagine my utter delight when my love for Confessed actually surpassed my love for Professed! I know! I can’t believe it either! Nicola Rendell is a seriously gifted wordsmith and storyteller. Confessed is so perfect, so delightful, so dirty, and so delicious that I can’t think of a thing to say to do it justice, but I’ll try.
At its core, Confessed is romantic and raw and passionate and intense with so much heat and heart. Not to mention the hotter than hot left-hand-worthy sex scenes. The writing is crisp and smart without being pretentious or wordy, and the story is fast-paced with complex characters. Plus, I’m in awe of the author’s use of the word f-u-c-k in so many different ways and flavors that I can -hear- Vince’s gravely voice when he’s saying it to Lucy whether it’s in exasperation or love or during sex and … damn … is it ever hot.
Speaking of that sexy man, Vincent Ramírez Russo is the ultimate bad boy hero. Like for real, guys. He’s not that pretend bad boy we see in so many novels. He’s bona fide, and I want to know everything about him. Like just how bad is he and can he teach me, I mean Lucy, to be bad too? And for the love of all that is good and holy, please tell me more about his strong veined hands and those wrists and that -look- he gives Lucy and that sexy af belt buckle. Gah, I love him.
When my feisty Lucy Burchett quite literally crashes into Vince, she turns their world upside down. Who is this beautiful little minx filled with so many contradictions? She’s part sex-kitten-wild-child and part savvy rich girl all while being down to earth and genuine. She’s Ivy League, smart as a whip, and in Vince’s capable hands she’s honing her street smarts. When these two come together they are unstoppable, and I could feel the sparks jumping off the page. There will be hiccups, and I’m talking holy-shit-what-did-you-do-now kinds of hiccups, but watching these two figure things out is perfection!
Along with the amazing-ness of Vince and Lucy, this book is filled with so many little winks to the reader. From now on I’ll think of Phil Collins and peanuts and Peaches (*swoons*) and motherbitch and Johnny Cash and unlimited data plans and New Mexico mesas and road trips and bobby pins, especially bobby pins, in a whole new light.
One more thing, and this may sound silly, but I feel like these gorgeous covers are a watershed moment in the romance genre. I mean, really! How can I ever take half-naked dudes seriously again? And I used to love half-naked dudes! These beautiful covers of Rendell’s have really raised the bar for me. It’s so refreshing to see a sexy and unique cover that I don't have to hide on public transportation.
Just so you know, Nicola’s books will be the first ones I point to when I argue with my friends about just how smart smut can be. Confessed jumped to the top of my favorites' list! Go give it a 1-click now! I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

Confessed by Nicola Rendell is a captivating, consuming read that grabs you by the heart and doesn't let go.
So before I go any further I must address a huge point. One I feel you need to know before you read.. You ready?
This book is F’ING HOT! So hot, you're gonna need an ice bath. Literally, just sit in one while reading BELIEVE ME. Sheesh, some of the scenes in Confessed were ON FIY-AH! Honestly Vince and Lucy…. Hot mother effers!
Okay so, Confessed is Nicola's second release and from this day forward I pledge to read every book this woman writes because her storytelling capability is on point. Words flow into thrilling sentences throughout this whole book. There was never a time where I felt a lull or wanted to leave the book. Confessed sunk it's claws into me and held on. TIGHT.
Vince and Lucy are an amazing couple. Both hopelessly flawed. Both from opposite lifestyles. But both so similar.
I have to say I have a major woman crush on Lucy, this woman has balls! I loved her! She's super strong and so funny it's ridiculous. I want to be her friend, like RIGHT NOW.
Vince Russo, is rugged, raw, ruthless and dangerous to womankind. Seriously this man is DELICIOUS! Vince is one of those cocky alphas you just know you're going to love. And I loved him HARD. Fell hook, line and sinker for the dude!
What I also loved about Confessed though is the epic storyline Nicola has penned here. The connection I felt as a reader to this book as a whole was so deep. The story hit me full force, ticking every box on the “great books checklist”. Confessed had connection, charisma, love, lust, breathtaking romance, intense HOT scenes, laugh out loud humour, gutting, heartbreaking moments just everything.
All in all Confessed is an insanely addicting read. Super hot and utterly breathtaking!

I read these out of order, I actually read this one before I read Professed. And, let me say...I ran right out and read Professed right away. This one is THAT GOOD. Vince is amazing. I want my own Vince. But it isn't just the characters, it is the whole package of this one.
Nicola Rendell is an wonderful writer. She takes you on quite a ride with Vince and Lucy. She tosses in the Russian Mafia, horses, bobby pins, being stranded, restroom destruction, the dangers of hitchhiking and assorted other adventures on the way to the HEA for Vince and Lucy. There is a little bit of doubt thrown in. Are they too different? Can they make this work? Can Vince be the person Lucy needs him to be? Can Vince find it in himself to believe he is even worthy of Lucy? All of these questions need to be answered in the story, and they need to be answered in such a way as you believe in their story.
I could talk about the plot, the pacing, the characters...or I can just say I love them and talk about what I really enjoy of Nicola Rendell: her writing style. It is quirky. But in a way that you enjoy, not in a way that is annoying. She has this amazing ability to tell a story that is a little stressful, that is about characters who either have it tough now, or have in the past...but there is something about her writing that keeps this book feeling light and fun...even while dealing with something serious.
The balance is perfect, and this is true for both books I have read. Often, when a writer tries to be quirky, they lose the heart of the story. And, often when a writer tries to tell a deep story, they lose the fun in the telling of the angst. Neither of these elements is lost or overshadowed by the other, which made this a great read. You can enjoy the lighter moments, stress a little through the more serious ones, and still come out on the other side fully believing in their story.
Confessed is balanced perfectly. I was impressed and I highly recommend this novel.

I was looking for something fun to read... I've already read some of Nicola's books, and even though they fit the definition of "light and fun" - they all have one more thing in common: Insta-Love with lots and lots (and lots!!!) of sex. 🔥
The book "Confessed" was very original with a super cool encounter between the characters (they meet when Vince tries - and manages - to steal Lucy's car at the beginning of the book 😂).
Together, they go on a crazy journey, 'Bonnie and Clyde' style, filled with humor, passion, action and mystery... 🎉
I enjoyed it despite the extra fast progress of their relationship and the amount of sex in the plot - the story was original, the writing was good and the characters were cool... ❤
But then, while they were in bed, Vince told Lucy to call him DADDY. 😳
And then... there was a whole scene (and a fucking long one!!!) in which she called him daddy, and they both got (nauseating) excited about it. 😬
That's when I decided I had enough and stopped reading.
To be honest, I really wanted to know how the story ends, but then my dad called, and I changed my mind. 😭🙈😂
So if this is something that doesn't make you sick (like me 💩), I recommend this fun book! LOL 😂

I saw that this book was getting A LOT of hype about it, so of course I was super intrigued and I just had to have it! And I am so glad that I got my greedy hands on it because I absolutely loved it!
We meet Lucy and Vince. Talk about opposites attract. And they certainly meet with a bang!
“You’re not all sinner,” I whisper.
He shakes his head. “Not with you.”
The two are both on the run—though for entirely different reasons. And they decide to run together. The two of them together are hot, hot, hot!
“Into my mouth, she whimpers. God yes, that whimper. I’ll take a double whimper and an extra shot of Oh Vince.”
I absolutely adored Vince. I love me a bad boy with a heart of gold, and he fits this bill to a T. Such a bad ass, tattooed up, motorcycle riding man, but just a few days with Lucy and we see his soft side.
“She’s so full of hope and spunk, it’s like it’s contagious. She makes me feel like anything is possible. Like fucking everything is possible.”
I need Lucy as my best friend. She is so sassy and fun. Even when she is scared, she doesn’t show fear. And when she loves, she loves deeply.
The two of them together were so perfect and I couldn’t get enough of their story. I am certainly hoping we get some future glimpses, too, after that epilogue. And you can be damn sure that the moment I finished this story I went back and one-clicked Professed. I can’t wait to read it! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

Holy. Shit. You guys, this book was so freaking good—I feel a little blown away by it.
Confession: I started it as one of those I’ll-read-one-chapter-and-then-bed reads. Mistake. Because, suddenly, it was the early hours of the morning, and I was practically propping my eyelids up with toothpicks, trying to convince myself that one more chapter couldn’t possibly hurt.
How could it, when it was as good as Confessed?
Addictive from the start, it was incredibly easy for me to get completely and utterly lost in funny Vince, the badass, bad boy, and sassy Lucy, a rich girl looking for a way out. To say nothing of their engaging, sparkling, erratic and electric love. It really takes no time at all to discover that what Nicola Rendell has here is magic in prose. It doesn’t matter that they just met, that disaster after catastrophe after Russian mobster after waiting for them at every turn, or that they’re on the lam. All that matters is this story—their story—is a fucking riot.
The heat and tension, the humor and dry wit, the feels and emotions all came together perfectly in Confessed. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it—except to make it longer, because damn it, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I hope there’ll be more glimpses of Lucy and Vince in future books by this author I am now guaranteed to read again (and again and again), because HOLY. SHIT. This book is officially one of my favorites of 2016. And that’s my confession. ~ Beth, 5 Peaches stars

3.5 Stars. Vince and Lucy make sparks fly... quite literally... when they meet. While the plot is quite the stretch, it takes you on a sweet and funny ride. I'm more of a sarcastic humor type of gal, but I did find myself smiling. It's interesting how the book goes from animosity to an almost insta love pretty fast. Vince and Lucy together were seriously sexy. They complimented one another. Individually, they were very much lost and trying to find their way. The contrast adds value to the story. It was also refreshing to read a hero that is in touch with his emotions. Definitely a fun read. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. No rape or abuse.

What an absolutely wild ride this book was! I loved it.
Hotels, restaurants and bars of America - please make sure that the sinks in your bathrooms are solid and securely attached to the walls and your beds are tightly screwed together because Vince and Lucy are gonna shake 'em.
I hate luncheon meat, I think it is the very thing that made me become a vegetarian all those years ago. Mr Burchett, you are not going to be poisoning me my dear.
Apart from the obvious sink and bed shaking Confessed has the most fabulously entertaining story of crash, bang, wallop. I laughed, I squeeeeed, I sighed, I oh myed! Who knew hair clips would come in so handy? Descriptive wise, Nicola Rendell gives perfect character description from the dodgy Russian to the little old man in a prison cell.

I hate luncheon meat, I think it is the very thing that made me become a vegetarian all those years ago. Mr Burchett, you are not going to be poisoning me my dear.
Apart from the obvious sink and bed shaking Confessed has the most fabulously entertaining story of crash, bang, wallop. I laughed, I squeeeeed, I sighed, I oh myed! Who knew hair clips would come in so handy? Descriptive wise, Nicola Rendell gives perfect character description from the dodgy Russian to the little old man in a prison cell.

I thought this book was absolutely brilliant!
Having to bite your own hand in bed as you're reading, due to shaking so much with (best you can force down) silent, hysterical laughter over and over again, as you're trying desperately not to wake your other half is probably ridiculous - but if you can't put a book down because, well, even at gone 2am, it's THAT good - then what else can you do?!!!
The sex was as dirty, hot and beautiful as I could have hoped it would be (OMG the scene where he's choking her was off the charts for all of the above) and the story itself was just awesome.
Another winner from this talented author - can't wait to read more of her stories ;)

Fleeing the scandal of tainted meat from her family’s empire, Lucy Burchett, 23 (or 22, both ages are given), hits the road and literally another vehicle in her rush to leave her old life behind. Vince Russo, 34, is running too. A former convict with a Russian mobster on his tail, he wants to start over as well. What ensues is a road trip of adventure, hot sex, finding love, and new identities.
The early humor in this pulled me in, the descriptions colorful and witty. Told via their dual alternating first person POV, the narration is entertaining and the plot engaging.
The aforementioned bathroom-wrecking sex in the blurb…sexy and hilarious!
Like I might have read the line to my hubs and couldn’t get it out because I was snorting with laughter. I probably won’t look at automated bathroom features the same way again.
There’s no shortage of sexy times in this story.
And while there is a point where a few sex scenes began to feel out of character, as if every edgy romance kink was thrown together, there were enough other things going for this couple to overlook a few scenes that might have been better left on the editing floor.
Overall, I liked both Lucy and Vince. While Lucy didn’t always behave the most cautiously, she certainly wasn’t weak. Hallelujah for a non-virginal, independent, daring heroine. In fact, at some points, she’s pretty bad ass.
Vince—I definitely picked up on the shady, criminal vibes at the start. I was wearier of him than Lucy. But he has heart, and when he beats up a misogynist, racist redneck… be still my heart.
Watching him fall for her and fall apart over her was beautiful. I was rooting for these two to get their HEA for miles. If you enjoy road trip adventures pleasingly void of OW/OM drama, this is one to take for a spin.

This is the 2nd book that I've read by Nicola Rendell. I wouldn't exactly call it a series. Each book can be read on it's own. Lucy, the h in Confessed, is the h's (Naomi) college friend from Professed. No characters(other than Lucy) from Professed were in Confessed.
This book starts off after Lucy graduates from Yale. Lucy is leaving home after her dad's deli meats business turns sour. Literally. There's a major E.coli outbreak. Lucy's trying to cut ties with her parents after they fail to react in a rational and moral way. Her dad is texting her to "keep her story straight". Meanwhile, Lucy is driving across country in her Beemer and a pile of cash.
She "runs" into Vince who's got a lot to run from as well. Vince has really been a BAD boy.
Yes, the sparks fly. Opposites attract. Vince is tatted and one helluva bad boy. They both admit their attraction.
Not too much time is wasted before Vince and Lucy hook up. They're opposite and they do definitely attract.There is really strong chemistry. I enjoyed their road trip which was full of getting to know each other and trying to keep from getting caught.
There was a slow middle. Ironically it was a couple of the sex scenes. I really liked it when they were on the move and planning their next scheme.
I was uncomfortable with *** spoiler*** some rough sex "play". It seemed really out of character for both of them. Fortunately the 2 occurrences were brief- and they weren't repeated.
Their troubles seemed to follow them across country. A little bit of nail biting.
I really liked that Lucy wasn't the typical rich bitch. Yeah, she had a heart of gold. She did soften up Vince. A lot happens in a short period of time.
This was 1st person POV, alternating Vince/Lucy.
The last 1/3 of the book moved quickly and I got more and more attached to Lucy & Vince.
The ending was wrapped up fairly quickly. I would have loved a little longer epilogue.
There's an HEA & no cliff hanger. I really like this author's writing style.

4.5 Sexy Stars
So in Confessed we spent a – hot flush – ride with Lucy, who is Naomi’s best friend from Professed which we read and enjoyed too. Both books can be read as standalones so if this one tickles your fancy first then read it and be swept up in one passionately intense Bonnie and Clyde style ride that’ll burn the tips of your fingers and steal your heart in the same breath.
“We’ve got a problem.”
“Do we?”
“Yeah. I had this whole plan for today. Until you ran me off the road”
“I said I was sorry.”
“Fuck sorry. There’s a new plan. I want to make some bad fucking decisions with you…”
Having read Professed then moving straight onto Confessed we definitely noticed a difference in the second book by Nicola Rendell. It had more depth and polish and she’s certainly got a knack for hot and sexy alpha males with a vulnerable side. Once again Confessed is another easy and highly entertaining read which hits the target for readers who love their erotica and feel like indulging for a couple of hours. It had us riveted that’s for sure for those very delicious reasons.
‘There’s that phrase, an awakening. I never understood that until now, but that’s what’s happening to me. I know it. I love it. I need it. That trust, no inhibitions. No shame. That’s the thing that brings tears to my eyes. In front of him, I have no shame. I can be whatever I want. Whatever I am.’
Lucy on first impression is quite the spoilt airy fairy rich girl who needs her driving licence revoked because wow…stand back! However, when circumstances change and she becomes the daughter of a wanted man up for fraud who quite frankly drops her right in it, we see a different side of her. A very very different side once she literally bangs into Vince Russo. She’s a flighty yet adorable and sassy girl.
“Peaches, we don’t choose where we come from. We only choose where we go.”
Vince Russo…hang on while we pick ourselves up off the floor where we’ve just spent a considerable amount of time in a hot puddle. This man is the definition of tattooed bad-arse alpha male. He was LUSH! Not only that, he had real heart and was creatively talented and gifted in many many things and ways.
‘Deep in my chest I feel this rush, this need, this fucking burning desire to protect her. Even from herself, even from her bad dreams.’
We loved the characters, the story development and as far as erotica is concerned this is definitely one of those that pack a punch as it was well written, flawless in characterisation and story. Erotica with an emotional beating heart.
Now excuse us while we go look for our bobby pins…..

Confessed by Nicola Rendell
This book was really very good. I enjoyed the authors writing style and found myself utterly entranced by the characters. I could never have imagined from the beginning of the book how perfectly they would complement each other and I'm so pleased that they did while staying true to themselves!
Vince and Lucy meet when Lucy is on the run from her pampered princess life where her notorious family is facing scandal upon scandal. As a result of her phenomenal driving skills (insert biggest snort EVER!) she rear-ends Vince, the hottest (ex) convict I've ever come across. What ensues is the ride of their lives; handcuffs are used, knives are wielded, and the Russian mafia makes an appearance as they fight to keep steps ahead of everyone else while they learn to trust each other.
I freaking ADORED Vince! I may have mentioned that he's pretty much sexy on legs, but he's also such a funny guy! He's also possessive, protective, and all those delicious things you want in an alpha male including a heart of gold. Lucy is just hilarious; she seems a bit clueless but she's actually quite the opposite. She's smart, she's bloody stubborn, and she's as feisty as hell. She gives as good as she gets and I loved her for it.
I picked up this book based on the recommendation of one of my favorite authors and I'm not disappointed. This book has some laughs, a lot of heart, and A LOT of heat. Shenanigans aside, it's a great romance. It's my first book by Rendell and I'm looking forward to read Professed next (yes, out of order).

I received an arc of this lovely and I couldn’t have been more thrilled when I got it! I read Professed and loved it so much and I knew this one would be just as good! Was I right with that assumption? Absolutely!
This book in one sentence: Well I’ll be, motherbitch is a new and glorious thing.
In a nutshell, Lucy, who is the heiress to a notoriously disastrous family, meets Vince
So once again, Nicola has created a story that you can lose yourself in. Confessed, like Professed, is written in witty and fun way and keeps a strong hold of you from beginning to end. I immediately became smitten with the characters and I immediately developed this need to know what happened next between them. This is like my eighth fun ride in a row and I’m glad I got to read this lovely!
When it comes to the story, I had a crazy fun time reading it. the characters are the cause of that because it didn’t matter who’s POV I was reading fun, I was always having a good time! I especially loved Lucy because she absolutely killed me!
“My parents live in Dallas,” I say. “I just graduated from UT.” Whoa! Who knew I’f turn myself into a Texan! Not Bad!
I lived for Lucy’s jokes and her humor and I could read about about her just living day to day and completely content about it! We got a little bit of her in Professed but she truly deserved a novel of her own and I’m glad we got it!
This one is different from Professed in the way the that it’s TONS FILTHIER! TONS! I spent most of the time reading this like:

I'm swooning HARD over here...
This book was just what I needed! Nicola Rendell, watch out, you just made yourself a big FAN my friend! Vince and Lucy were just EVERYTHING! I loved how different they were and yet they gravitated to one another so quickly and so often. The con and the heiress? I mean, you just KNOW this is going to be interesting. I've never read a storyline like this and yet, I don't want to read any other kind ever again! Sexy, intense, sweet, and snarky! I LOVED everything about this romance. CONFESSED is a dream come true for every romance reader out there.
I can't WAIT to dive into more from this author! She writes romance like a pro and yet, she is still such a newbie. I love it! I LOVE her! Don't EVER stop writing Ms. Rendell. CONFESSED will lift your spirits. It will warm your heart. It will have you blushing from head to toe. I didn't know how much I needed this type of a story until I cracked it open. I'm a goner for this author!

5 "Oh, the things Vince and I could do with a couple of bobby pins" Stars!
This. Book. Nicola has simply blew this book out of the water! I never knew I could love a bad boy as bad as Vince Russo. I also never knew after meeting Lucy in Rendell's debut novel "Professed", that after reading Confessed, I'd easily deem her as my new best friend and one of my all time favorite heroines!
Ah but Vince... Vince isn't just any bad boy...
He is THE Bad Boy.
Lucy and Vince crash into each other's loves instantly. And literally. Lucy is on the run from the tragedy that is becoming of her family's dynasty, when all of a sudden she runs Vince's truck off the road.
Vince may seem like the prodigal bad boy, but you have no idea just how bad he is. On the run himself from not only the cops, but from a Russian mob boss he owes money to.
Lucy's feisty personality shows instantly and sparks immediately start flying. Although, sparks may be the wrong word. Maybe I should say "Peaches" instead... (Insider; must read book to understand)
"She's turning me on and she's pissing me off all at once."

This. Book. Nicola has simply blew this book out of the water! I never knew I could love a bad boy as bad as Vince Russo. I also never knew after meeting Lucy in Rendell's debut novel "Professed", that after reading Confessed, I'd easily deem her as my new best friend and one of my all time favorite heroines!
Ah but Vince... Vince isn't just any bad boy...
He is THE Bad Boy.
Lucy and Vince crash into each other's loves instantly. And literally. Lucy is on the run from the tragedy that is becoming of her family's dynasty, when all of a sudden she runs Vince's truck off the road.
Vince may seem like the prodigal bad boy, but you have no idea just how bad he is. On the run himself from not only the cops, but from a Russian mob boss he owes money to.
Lucy's feisty personality shows instantly and sparks immediately start flying. Although, sparks may be the wrong word. Maybe I should say "Peaches" instead... (Insider; must read book to understand)

That moment you realise you were so completely engrossed in the book, you forgot to update your gr status.
That never happens. Apart from when I'm devouring my new fave author's back catalogue.
This was a fantastic read. This was a standalone story about Naomi from Professed 's bestie, Lucy. It works perfectly as a standalone, but do not deprive yourself of the brilliance that is Professed, read both, immediately.
I won't give away the plot other than to say it squeezes the hottest, most exhilarating tension and forbidden lust from a Bonnie and Clyde style set up while somehow managing to be one of the most belly-tingly romantic stories I've ever read. All of the feels here, no tstl behaviour or silly drama, just engaging characters being real, witty and kinda dirty. Oh yeah.
I absolutely loved this. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy Penny Reid, LH Cosway, Christina Lauren or LH Shen then you'll love this.

So in Confessed we spent a – hot flush – ride with Lucy, who is Naomi’s best friend from Professed which we read and enjoyed too. Both books can be read as standalones so if this one tickles your fancy first then read it and be swept up in one passionately intense Bonnie and Clyde style ride that’ll burn the tips of your fingers and steal your heart in the same breath.

“Yeah. I had this whole plan for today. Until you ran me off the road”

Having read Professed then moving straight onto Confessed we definitely noticed a difference in the second book by Nicola Rendell. It had more depth and polish and she’s certainly got a knack for hot and sexy alpha males with a vulnerable side. Once again Confessed is another easy and highly entertaining read which hits the target for readers who love their erotica and feel like indulging for a couple of hours. It had us riveted that’s for sure for those very delicious reasons.
‘There’s that phrase, an awakening. I never understood that until now, but that’s what’s happening to me. I know it. I love it. I need it. That trust, no inhibitions. No shame. That’s the thing that brings tears to my eyes. In front of him, I have no shame. I can be whatever I want. Whatever I am.’
Lucy on first impression is quite the spoilt airy fairy rich girl who needs her driving licence revoked because wow…stand back! However, when circumstances change and she becomes the daughter of a wanted man up for fraud who quite frankly drops her right in it, we see a different side of her. A very very different side once she literally bangs into Vince Russo. She’s a flighty yet adorable and sassy girl.
“Peaches, we don’t choose where we come from. We only choose where we go.”
Vince Russo…hang on while we pick ourselves up off the floor where we’ve just spent a considerable amount of time in a hot puddle. This man is the definition of tattooed bad-arse alpha male. He was LUSH! Not only that, he had real heart and was creatively talented and gifted in many many things and ways.
‘Deep in my chest I feel this rush, this need, this fucking burning desire to protect her. Even from herself, even from her bad dreams.’
We loved the characters, the story development and as far as erotica is concerned this is definitely one of those that pack a punch as it was well written, flawless in characterisation and story. Erotica with an emotional beating heart.
Now excuse us while we go look for our bobby pins…..

I feel quite conflicted about this book. On the one hand, I connected with both the characters Vince and Lucy. On the other hand I struggled with the relationship development direction at times.
This is the kind of book that grabs you immediately with a consuming story that's fast-paced. Lucy's life is crumbling at a exponential rate and Vince just happens to 'mark' her. Vince is described so that he draws you in. He is also a scammer but Lucy makes him think twice about his lifestyle. The storyline was strong and the chemistry real. The erotic nature of the relationship and language wasn't always in my taste. It did put me off at times but the connection with the characters kept me invested on the whole.

I'm a big fan of the first book by this author but this book didn't hit the spots in quite the same way. The connection between the two books is tenuous and I would have welcomed more between Professed and Confessed. I am following Nicole Rendell to see what else she writes as I consider her 'one to watch'.

Ladies, pick me up from the floor, fan me until my heart slows down & check my pulse to see if it's back to a normal rhythm. I have just met Vince HOTTER THAN THE DEVIL Russo & seriously, that man has left me panting, wanting & unashamedly undone!
This is my first book by Nicola & without a shadow of a doubt it won't be my last. I love a good love story, throw in some humour & some serious hawt as heckers pash & I'm done for - literally. From the first pages this book wasn't letting me go & truthfully, I wouldn't have let in anyway. I literally laughed till my ribs hurt, squealed in delight, held my heart as it ached & wiped away my sniffles as I feel so head over heals, hopelessly in love with Lucy & Vince.
Lucy - omg this girl is funny - actually beyond funny. Her personality is so addictive, you cant help but scream for #TeamLucy. She made me laugh so damn hard with her antics, with that mouth of hers that runs at a million miles an hour with no filter & her sheer sassiness. Beautiful, smart, stubborn & a feisty little vixen, she wears her heart on her sleeve. She's packed up & ran away, unable to live the lie that was her life. She wants more, she wants new, she just doesn't know what that looks like or where she will find it. What she does know though, is that of all the guys to run off the road, the delicious, devastatingly handsome, dark & dangerous, tattooed god that gets out of the truck, is going to set her world on fire.
Vince - Seriously, I think I need a doctor. Like ohmahgeeez this man & what his dirty mouth can & does deliver is a crime in itself. Tall, dark, breathtakingly handsome & all alpha macho. He's a man that knows what he wants & how to take it. He's on the run, so the last thing he needs or expects is to be ran off the road by a little posh princess with a mouth on her that he'd love to fill & sinfully sexy body he wants to explore. One night, he can handle that right??
From the get go their chemistry pours from the pages, like a hot knife through butter. Talk about lust crazed passion, mind blowing orgasms & two seriously like minded individuals. You can't help but laugh out loud at the antics they get into, as they make their way West. Funny doesn't even cut it lol, but equally you fall in love with them hard, with some seriously major swooning as you watch how they unwrap each others layers & unravel each others souls.
Nicola's character portrayal & development was just frickin amazing. The feels through this entire book to me were of the highest quality, making me want Lucy & Vince in my life for their shiz & giggles as well as their beauty & honesty .

There is a warning in the synopsis of this book, that it is an erotic novel, so there is plenty of sex in it, but its not repetitive like some books and the story line is more prominent. Not only that, its a doozy as well. The plot was realistic and captivating. These characters complimented each other so well, definitely yin and yang. Vince's vulnerability, that only Lucy could bring out, was a treat to read. He was so in tuned to Lucy's wants and needs and she matured immensely in the short time together. Vince also learnt from Lucy and the greatest gift of all - unconditional love.

"Confessed" is one hell of a rollercoaster ride which touches the point of insanity... an adventure you'll want to follow through till the very end at the speed of light. The attraction between Vince and Lucy is carnal, primal, loving and ruthless in the very short and condensed time they have been together. This book started with a bang and ended with a bang! It was really captivating to see both Lucy and Vince deal with each other. Every chapter was thrilling. I mean you can't sit still while these characters are on run! It did take me time to get into it to know what is going on and what's happening but I am sure after two chapters I knew what is happening. I was happy, swooning and getting angry! OMG! The scenes between both were steamy and so hot!! My eyes were glued to it so hard. WOW! The character development was really good and I adored Lucy! I think she was refreshing and didn't need saving! I have a huge girl crush on her!

I loved this book! I enjoyed Professed and knew I would enjoy this one, but it was better than expected. Vince is the bad boy we all dream of, tattooed, hot, & a criminal. But that all changed when Lucy crashes into him (literally). Vince was a dream boat, he gave me those gut punches
