The Greatest Command
Jesus was asked which commandment was the greatest. He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30) He said the second greatest command was to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” There are many books and studies on the second greatest, but how well have we understood the greatest command? What does it mean to love God with our heart? And how is that different from loving him with our soul? How does one love God with his mind? And what entails loving God with our strength? If this is the greatest command, how do we know when we comply? The answers to all of these questions are found in the written words of God, which was inspired by the one we are to love with our whole being. This study will open up our understanding and present a live-giving challenge to all of us.
