Wow, this was... so... not for me. What can I say? I found this book in a freebie bookshelf and though it might contain a few useful clues to meditation, which is something that I guess most people could benefit from, me included. As opposed to the book, I’ll try to keep this brief and pain-free. Bulletpoints it is.
Pros: + Reminder of the basics: Breathe, relax, observe the gap between what you want and what you think you need. + Yes, a positive attitude is likely to have an impact on your mental and physical health.
Cons: - Self-help can be such a bore. - Non-scientific. Bacteria, chronic diseases and cancer? Quit worrying, stay positive and you’ll be fine. Really?! - Repetitive. Blablabla... this was a page turner in the negative sense. I just flipped my way through most of it. Sure hope there are some books with more quality on the subject.
Following "Mind Calm," this book walks you through a basic meditation technique and some specific techniques relating to specific physical problems. The book actually focuses most on the same basic techniques as Mind Calm in terms of experiencing conscious awareness and differentiating between context and content in meditation and life.
