She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.
I got this even though I had already read one of the books, but it was on sale, so I went ahead and got it. As usual with a compilation, there were books that were good and books that were ok. I do highly recommend this last one by Linda White! It kept me reading into the night just to find out what happened. Great writing, great suspense.
I was looking for Christian mystery Fiction. Although the first two stories fit the bill, the others did not. Disappointed, so it took me longer to get through the set. In fact, I basically skipped the fourth story altogether.
"Battered Justice" by Linda J. White is an absolutely stunning suspense, with no weaknesses and many, many strengths!
FBI Special Agents Jake Tucker and Cass McKenna have a unique partnership; together they have lived through tremendous loss and have survived extreme circumstances; both professionally and personally. When assigned to solve a shooting incident involving a fellow federal agent, Jake and Cass uncover fragile threads of criminal activity which implicate a powerful state senator, who just happens to be married to Jake's ex-wife. Gambling, domestic violence, attempted assaults, custody disputes, drug infested street gangs, and ultimately murder dramatically converge; giving this story the five star rating that it so richly deserves.
Combining this great story with those of Christy Barritt, Lynette Bonner and others, makes this collection a virtual treasure trove for Christian suspense enthusiasts!
I love the book Gone By Dark by Christy Barritt. The main character Charity lives with guilt day in and day out for a whole decade of when she and her very best friend Andrea decided to take a short cut through the woods on their way home from school one day. Andrea got kidnapped and has never been seen or heard from since that day. Charity just can't let go of the hurt, worry, the missing her heart feels for her friend. Until, she gets a letter luring her back to North Carolina to come and find out the information about it all. But is it the truth? An officer friend she meets along the way and the only person she learns to trust even a little helps her fight to through the dark, woods of her worst nightmare.....once again to hopefully find the truth and perhaps her best friend Andrea. Or atleast some closure to what happened to her ten years ago.
This review is for Saving Grace by Lesley Ann McDaniel. Grace is hiding from her life in NY in a small town named Madison Falls. You are swept away into her life with many twists and turns that keep you guessing about what is going to happen next. The characters are believable and the plot is well written. I love the small town characters and the warm feelings it evokes. This is my first book by Lesley, but will not be my last. Her writing style reminds me of Colleen Coble. If you love mystery, suspense, romance, and Faith then this is the book for you. I will read the rest of the books in this collection. I received a copy from the author for an honest review and I have done that.
Wow! A great suspense and mystery by Christy Barritt! This second book of Carolina Moon is one of Christy's best novels! I enjoyed reading this mystery and it was soooo hard to put down. The whole time I was reading I was trying to figure out what happened to Andrea and why Charity was called back to Hertford. I loved how Charity grew as a person and became stronger and braver in the book. A very wonderful message about leaning on God and loved ones and how your perception of how people see you can be wrong. I also read When Night Comes by Dan Walsh. A very exciting read also.
Come join me on this roller coaster ride of murder, mayhem and romance. Throughout this journey we find God's love, protection and redemption.he is with us in our times of need. This was an amazing collection Christian romantic suspense by some very good authors I encountered familiar authors and met some new ones that will soon in my to read pile. Thanks for the amazing journey.
Some of the books in this set were good, one was so bad I couldn't get past the 2nd chapter. The last book was the crown jewel and I will be reading more by that author.
For 99 cents, this is well worth it even just for the Hileman book! I'm rating all the books separately as I read them, but getting this 99 cent set is a great deal!
