I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Unexpected Chances is A.M. Willard's second story, and just as with the first, One Night, it is a series. This book can be read without having read the One Night Series, however, I think it would be more enjoyable if readers start with the One Night Series as most of the characters are present in both series.

The timeline for Unexpected Chances is basically parallel with that of the One Night Series, but it focuses on different characters. Ms. Willard masterfully wove together the two story lines while fully developing the secondary characters of her One Night Series and turning them into the main attraction.

While the book description makes this book sound like a fairly routine romance story, it is also filled with suspense and subterfuge (no further detail will be supplied as that would spoil the fun). The story was fast paced; I could not put it down! The intrigue hooked me, but the relationships between Tabitha and her friends, as well as with Carter, were also fun. Unrequited love, misunderstandings and secrets from the past become hurdles to clear for Tabitha and Carter. Love scenes are tasteful, and the use of strong language was very rare and strategic.

Knowing that this is a series, will prepare readers for the cliff hanger at the end. I was not prepared, and I'm still reeling. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series! A.M. Willard is a new author that you'll want to keep an eye on.

**** 4 Cranky Stars ****

Sparkling on the outside, Tabitha lives her life having fun while vowing to never fall in love. She's fun loving, smart and beautiful. The perfect trifecta on the surface.

Yet underneath this shiny exterior is a damaged soul.

Carter Northwood is successful, rich and sexy on the outside and dead on the inside.

Stuck in an arranged marriage and feeling like this is all his life will ever be he lives his life on autopilot. Everything is fine until a chance meeting that flips his world upside-down leaving him wanting more.

This story is sweet and funny with suspense and intrigue thrown in for good measure. I instantly fell in love with the characters and their ability to love and support each other.

This book is filled with sexy alpha men and the women who can bring them to their knees.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

You meet Tabitha in the One Night Series, Angela's best friend and partner in SHI. Unexpected Chances takes place the same time frame as One Night but from Tabitha's POV. I loved it! I think Ms. Willard outdid herself.

Tabitha Michaelson works as an executive assistant for her best friend, Angela Stephens at the company they opened together out of college. Tabitha loves her job, her brother and her friends. She has been hurt in the past, bad enough for her close herself off emotional to those outside of her circle. When she has a teleconference with Carter Northwood, the CEO of Georgia's Incorporated, she was never expecting the gorgeous man she gets.

Carter Northwood has a complicated history. He was forced to marry to further his father's career. He dreams of being free, doing what makes him happy. Of not being someone's puppet. When he see Tabitha on his computer screen he instantly knows he needs to see more of her, but can he without upsetting the delicate balance he is living in?

Can she get over her past and learn to trust? Can he stop being a puppet and live his own life?

This story gave me such anxiety but I couldn't put it down! I loved seeing Angela and Logan from Tabitha's perspective. I can't wait until the next book!! I have to know what happens!

There is just something about a story that has two strong characters with past secrets and enough angst when it comes to love, it just captivates the reader and takes them on an exhilarating roller coaster ride, for me that book is Unexpected Chances.

Author A.M. Willard weaves an amazing fast paced tale with a wonderful mixture of romance and suspense that follows the love story of Tabitha Michaelson and Carter Northwood. The reader can't help but get drawn into their story and empathize with the emotional angst that Tabitha and Carter share. As their unrequited love causes issues of trust, misunderstandings, and hurtles to clear; past secrets come to the surface with enough intriguing twists and turns that will provide a frenzy of suspense, the reader will experience a full gamut of emotions that will leave them spent, but alas ... Tabitha and Carter's story has a cliff hanger ending that will leave the reader wanting more!

Unexpected Chances is the first book in The Chances Series. Tabitha and Carter's story continues in Unexpected Changes, the second book in the series.

It’s unexpected and also unfortunate that I find myself in this position of having a book fall flat for me. When I say flat, my meaning is that for me I couldn’t connect with the characters. Reading the synopsis from Unexpected Chances it should’ve been right up my ally but things just didn’t work out that way.
The writing was in no such way bad or in need of an editor, there weren’t any plot holes or discrepancies with character names or the timeline, just the opposite in fact. Unexpected Chances has a very fast and easy flow that makes the reader jump right in, and in my case I think that’s what the downfall was that made it hard for me to connect. However I will say that for the first few chapters you will be reading in dual POV’s that are a bit repetitious but hang in there because the story evens out.
We all know that not every story is for everyone and just because I didn’t resonate with Unexpected Chances does not mean that you won’t also. Unexpected Chances could very well be your next favorite read for the summer of 2015.
Thank you A.M. Willard for giving me the opportunity to read Unexpected Chances.

Oh Ms. Willard nails it AGAIN!

We get to know Tabitha in Willard's One Night Series (that series does not have to be read before this one though, this can be read as a stand-alone). She's a firecracker with a big heart but too afraid to let anyone in. That is until one video conference call changes everything.

Meet Carter Northwood. A sexy, successful man who is as taken by his first encounter with Tabitha as she is with him. However, haunted by secrets and past mistakes he's so desperate to escape can he even try to plan a future with Tabitha?

Burned by her own past Tabitha struggles to let Carter in and every time Carter gets close to what he wants most in life another obstacle is thrown in his way.

Can they survive the drama surrounding them? Is love truly enough?

You have to read and find out!

This is book one of two and I promise, you will NOT regret reading this book. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

I had very high hopes for this book. I tried to feel any type of connection to the characters but unfortunately it fell flat. The dual point of view was a great idea, but often it was just redundant. Had the author spent a little more time on character development I might have enjoyed the book more.
Tabatha's character seemed shallow and all over the place. Carter did not come off as romantic, instead he gave me the creeps. His stalker like behavior was more than I could take. Hiring a PI after one work related video chat? Showing up at anytime where Tabatha was? Knowing all the details of her life without her knowledge? STALKER!
The added side story of Carters marriage and his wife was hinted at but the details were never revealed was just a ploy to get you to buy the next book. I honestly don't feel a need to revisit these characters.

I friggin loved this book. I messaged the author often to tell her that I’m obsessed with Cory. He just melted my heart, even though he’s not the main character in the book. I had to get that off my chest. Tabby and Carter have an instant attraction but there are many obstacles keeping them away from each other. My heart was dying with anticipation throughout the book waiting to see if they have their happily ever after. I highly recommend this book. The characters are very well developed and you feel like you know them personally. It is hilarious and captivates your attention until the very end. You will not regret choosing this book. Make sure you one click today!! The author did an amazing job. I can’t wait for Unexpected Changes!!!!

Unexpected Chances is a spin-off from the One Night Series... You all remember Tabitha, right? Good because she had her own story to tell.

This romantic suspense does end with a cliff hanger , but volume 2 is out and read to be enjoyed.

This book read super fast for me, and I read it in one weekend alone. First, I thought it started off great. There was definitely a funny beginning when it comes to Tabitha and Carter, but it also caught my attention right from the start and held it throughout. I thought it was a lovely romance story but it was more than just that – get ready to have a lot of emotions come your way and a wide range at that. A little bit of something for everyone, I like to think. A fast-paced ride filled with drama, twists but a lot of love.

Tabitha was hurt badly once and has written off relationships and love. Carter meets her and instantly wants her. This is not really the kind of romance that I read a lot of. The will they or won't they, back and forth. Carter is definitely the alpha male that is all about taking what he wants and that is Tabitha who he calls Tabby Cat. Tabitha is a very strong willed person and says she doesn't want to have anything to do with him even though she really wants him too. 4 stars.

A.M Willard has bought together another wonderful read. The characters are wonderful written. Tabitha is someone that will keep her heart out of the equation, she does not want to feel that lost. Carter is just had his life turn upside down and feels like nothing is worth it. Can two people that do not feel that love is for them or their lives, how do they overcome that? You can truly feel the emotions of the characters come off the page. I highly recommend this book

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Both Tabitha and Carter are confused by the strong feelings generated by their physical attraction to each other. But life is complicated for Carter as he is involved in a situation begun ten years ago. He needs to be free and clear before moving ahead with his Tabby Cat. Because a man in her past betrayed her, Tabby is frozen to the warm feelings. As she slowly thaws and acknowledges her feelings for Carter, she is constantly in turmoil by his blowing hot one minute then freezing cold the next. Threats begin to escalate, someone is murdered, the mystery deepens and the shackles tighten. Ms. Willard tells an exciting and thrilling story of secret love, betrayal, broken trust, intimidation and a behind the scenes master manipulator. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. But I have to say, in all honesty, the author has crafted one amazing beginning to a new series that promises to be mind boggling and heart wrenching.
Five Stars!
~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Another fantastic read by A.M. Willard. The story of Tabitha and Carter is beyond breathtaking. This book will suck you in from the beginning. It was a pretty fast easy read that didn't drag on or leave you wondering "What is going on?" It played out perfectly like a mini series in my head. Make sure you grab the second book, because the first ends on a cliffhanger and you don't want to miss out. I'm ready for the second book, Unexpected Changes.

~~~~~~~~~~Kim's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Loved this story! Tabitha is a fiery redhead with a passion for shoes and all that sparkles! She's aptly nicknamed 'Firecracker' by her brother and his friends. She's been hurt in the past by an ex boyfriend to what lengths we're still to find out. What ever has happened in the past has made Tabitha swear off love. That is until she meets Carter Northwood!
Carter is a hunky tattooed business man who appears to have it all going for him. Although all is not as it seems with Carter, he has a secret and that secret comes in the shape of his wife of ten years Bethany! Bethany I would quite gladly strangle with my own bare hands! Like I say all is not as it seems.
Can the two sort their problems out and finally have a relationship they both deserve? I'm rooting for the couple and can't wait to get reading book two!
This book flows perfectly and the character descriptions are awesome I could picture each one in my mind. Be warned this book ends on a cliffhanger!
Five stars!
~~~~~~~~~~Sandie's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

So I fell in love with A. M. Willard's writing from the very first chapter, of the very first book One Night! UC is Tabitha and Carter's story. You meet Tabby Cat in the One Night Series. She is the best friend and business partner of Angela.

Tabitha is a feisty, shoe loving, loyal friend and sister. However we soon learn that she has a painful past that caused her to put a wall of steal around her heart.

Oh Carter! He is my ultimate book boyfriend. Tattoo having, successful business man and motor cycle riding hotty! He's living the life he never wanted. Marrying to better his fathers career. But one look at his Tabby Cat and he knows where his future lies, only problem is Bethany!

This book was magically written. You never get confused on who is talking. The POV of both Tabitha and Carter easily goes back and forth. I can't wait to see how A. M. ends the story of Tabitha and Carter.

~~~~~~~~~~Nicole's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I really enjoyed this book. There is so much going on and I really need to know what is going to happen next. This story was easy flowing and I didn't want to put it down. I am so looking forward to the next book to find out what happens next.
~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Tabitha is the red-headed spitfire whose lost her fire. Carter is the alpha businessman who isn't free to chase after Tabitha. What a range of emotions these two put me through. Tabitha fights Carter tooth and nail but Carter never gives up. He might back off a little but he never gives up. The characters are very well developed and so likable. Even though Carter was deceitful with Tabitha, I couldn't help but fall in love with him right along with her. The secondary characters are plentiful but not as well developed. I kinda felt bad for Corey but I have a feeling the author has something in store for him as well. The author shows a small glimpse into any sexual encounters without going into too much detail. There are multiple locations in this book and are all places I would love to visit someday.

This is not a stand alone. It does have a cliffhanger but the possibility is still there for an HEA and the second book is already available. So if you are going to buy one, get them both. You won't be sorry.

~~~~~~~~~~Lillian's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
What a great read. Read it in one go just had to see what was going to happen next. Tabitha has met her soul mate but she just doesn't realize it yet. She has been running from love as she was hurt badly by an ex, there is a story there. She parties hard and has some really close friends but she isn't that happy. She works for her friend Angela and she has just taken on a new client. The new client takes her breathe away. Carter is sex on a stick but he is so messed up. He is trying to get away from his insane wife Bethany and her very powerful family. They have something over him but we don't really know what for sure.
They are attracted to each other but what future can Carter give Tabitha, he is still married and he knows that he has to keep her safe from his wife. He can't be honest with her so he lies to her and pushes her away. Can he ever tell Tabitha the truth about his life or will it be best just to stay away.
Will Bethany give him a chance and believe in him? Can Carter finally get free and be happy?
A great story had me pulled in the from the beginning can't wait for the next one. I loved the characters from the boys to Angela, they all had a place in the story and I am off to read part2. I would be more than happy to recommend this book to anyone.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

This book for me was very slow and when it started to pick up the book was over with a cliffhanger. I don't know if I want to read the second book as the two main characters didn't really pull me in. I was more enthralled by Angela and Logan than I was Tabitha and Carter. The twists in this book were good and I liked Bethany's character. I loved her group of male friends she hung out with and thought they were engaging. Overall the book was okay and I normally love books by this author but this one just didn't do it for me.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say, that reading A.M. Willard book, was awesome. As my son tells me, Straight up AWESOME SAUCE! Her writing is so well done, that the reader will feel each emotion, experience all the characters frustrations, and of course, those small precious victories within it. I do not hand out 5 star reviews every-time, I do truly base it on: does the author draw me in? When breaks are taken, am I still thinking about the story? And is there a yell factor? (My yell factor is essentially me yelling some obscenity or surprise at a turn of events or in conclusion of the books.) If an author can get me to physically get me to respond, you got my star vote. Granted there were times, I was beyond frustrated from the characters, but it was worth it.

Within this tale, we meet Tabitha Jean Michaelson, an independent woman, but oh so broken in spirit. She has allowed a "Richard"-Head to crush her spirit, and in her healing process she has shut her heart off to everyone. Aside from her brother and immediate best friends, Tabitha keeps any and all other persons at arm length from her so she is not affected by them. Until she is shocked from open her eyes on a Video Conference call with a new potential client. Those blue eyes were so intense and just drew her into this entirely too good to be true, Carter Northwood.

Carter Northwood, architect and business mogul, has an issue with pulling clientele into one of his condo complexes; and on recommendation of his board of directors he pulls in the help of SHI an image improvement company. To start the ball rolling, he had to completed an initial video conference interview. When Carter signed into the server, to find what his eyes saw of this beautiful vixen on the other end, he was done for! Can Carter keep his dark past from touching this beautiful vixen and calls to his soul? Can it be true love at first sight?

The book is very entertaining and pulling, but does have its dark side. I do recommend to my friends to read it. Loved it. I can't wait to start the next one!

~~~ Jess's Review ~~~
Let me start by saying this is an amazing read and as always it’s very well written. It’s an awesome storyline and I can’t wait for book two. This book is done in a Dual POV but it’s awesomely done.
If you have read A.M. Willard’s One Night Series then you have meet Miss Tabitha Michaelson or as Carter calls her Tabby Cat. Tabitha has a Wild, Crazy and Free personality. Her brother and his friends call her Firecracker and I can promise after reading this book and even reading the One Night Series you will understand why. Tabitha does have a bit of an issue she has to take care of herself. What’s that issue you ask? Well that issue is called “The CB”, but that’s all I can really say. He He He
In Forever Night the final book in the One Night Series you also caught a glimpse of the sexy as sin Carter Northwood or The Stalker. Carter is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s sexy, has tattoos, and owns a business and head over heels in love with his Tabby Cat. However Carter has “The Problem” in his way. What’s “The Problem” you ask well you will just have to read this book and find out.
Once you finish this book you will be asking yourself these questions...
1. Will Carter’s problem be taken care of soon?
2. Will Tabitha trust Carter again?
3. Will Carter and Tabitha find their way?
A.M. Willard babe congrats on book four. It’s just as amazing as the first. I love that you gave me the chance to review this one for you and wanted you to know it’s amazing and I need me some more CARTER! I loved that I am the one you called about your wants and won’ts and you know you can call me anytime about anything. Now that you have seen my review you need to get your tush in gear and give me some more Carter. Love ya lady!!
Brilliant!!!!!!! After reading the One Night Series I didn't think the story or plots around everything could get any better. Then Mrs. Willard decides to expand on the Tabitha's story, Angela's hilarious best friend.
Funny that when I finished the book I craved more and assumed that based on what I was reading it was left open for more and more so imagine my surprise when I find out that her story is coming out. YIPPEE!!!!! HAPPY DANCE.
Tabitha is a sassy, independent and awesome friend to Angela, while Angela's struggles have come first she has been dealing with her own internal struggles. To not add more to her friends volume of issues she is dealing with her emotions in general regarding what it is she wants in life.
She's given the opportunity to advance within the company Angela and her have worked to build and with that new objectives and qualifications and work loads will bring her to a new set of challenges, challenges that will make her have to deal with her past and figure out what she wants from her present.
Carter is looking to expand his present business and at the same time try to bypass all the trials and tribulations tossed at him many years ago when his fate seem to have been decided.
Expansion will end up coming with a lot of surprises that will make him question his judgement and look at what he wants rather that the arrangements made for him long ago.
If you think Angela & Logan's One Night Series had you captivated you MUST READ the Unexpected Chances Series.
Each turn of the page will have you laughing, guessing and definitely wanting more.
Mrs. Willard was brilliant in putting this second series in place and to think that you can still read and imagine what more will come of this story....
YOU MUST READ ALL OF HER SERIES TO DATE AND BEYOND. He mind works in BRILLIANT WAYS
Tabitha was running late for work as she and her brother were out late last night. She didn't have time to stop for coffee on the way to work since she had a teleconference for her boss and friend Angela. She decided to meditate and wait for the conference to start. After the conference she couldn't get Carter Northwood out of her head and he couldn't get Tabitha out of his head. He called his friend Jack and asked him to do a background check and have him fallow her. Carter shouldn't be getting involved with Tabitha but he can't help himself. Tabitha and her brother Seth made a pack to no relationships.
Tabitha is 33 years old, single. She is stuck in a rut and depressed. She has been hurt in the past. Executive assistant to Angela. She loves to party, shop, date and works hard to try and keep herself out of trouble, she works at SHI. Carter Northwood is CEO of Georgia Incorporated, Owns hotels and condos in Seattle. Calls Tabitha Tabby Cat, married . Angela is Tabitha's friend and boss, she is going through a divorce, she is Logan's girlfriend and promoted Tabitha. Seth is Tabitha's older brother and he is very protective of her. Cory has feelings for Tabitha, is Seth's friend and Tabitha's closest guy friend. He is like a brother to her, very protective. Ben is Seth's friend, like a brother to Tabitha. Mitch is Seth's friend and like a brother to Tabitha. Jason is Seth's friend and like a brother to Tabitha. Jessica is Seth's girlfriend, wants more from Seth. Is being trained by Tabitha to work at SHI. Bethany is Carter's wife.
This is an amazing story by AM Willard and one I know that I will be able to read again and again. It's a very well written story and the characters were very well developed. I couldn't help but feel very connected to the characters. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I was hooked from the first page.
Unexpected Chances by A.M. Willard is an absolutely amazing read. This book could be a stand alone book for sure, however I read The One Night Series first and then Unexpected Chances. I became a fan of A.M. Willard after reading the One Night Series and I have been a huge fan ever since.
Unexpected Chances is the story of Tabitha and Carter. Tabitha has sworn to keep her heart locked up and not to give it to anyone. She is dead set on work, partying, and shopping. Carter at the age of 18 had his world turned upside down and has been living with loneliness, bitterness, and regret his entire life ever since. Tabitha and Carter meet in an unexpected and hilarious way (on a side note..I absolutely love how they see each other for the first time. I have re-read this part of the book numerous times because I enjoyed it so much!) which I will not share because I give no spoilers away. You will have to read this fantastic book to find out.
Can two people that have wounded hearts find love in each other? Can a past haunt you so much that it tears you apart? Can you trust someone that has secrets hidden? Will they overcome their fears and find happily ever after? Will others step in their way and rip their hearts apart?
A.M. Willard has done an outstanding job with writing this book. The characters are absolutely magnificent, well rounded, easy to understand and relate to, and you can seriously feel EVERY emotion they are going through. You are grabbed by the first page and at the end you don't want the book to end. Tabitha is funny, sassy, and a heck of a lot of fun!! I highly recommend this book!!! I can not wait for more books from this remarkable author. A.M. Willard you ROCK!!!!
OMG! I love Tabitha!! She is just as her nickname states, a firecracker! She’s so full of life and just a mess. Tabitha was hurt, I mean REALLY hurt, in the past… like destroyed! Her life has not been the same ever since. She still tries to be the person that she thinks she is supposed to be, but even she knows it’s fake. She doesn’t need a man to be happy, she has her brother, and her 3 surrogate brothers, her best friend Angela and her family. Why would she every need a man to make her happy? Well, in comes Carter, and he is here to show her that she may not need a man to make her happy, but he wants to show her what it’s like to actually BE happy with a man who wants to do nothing but make her happy. I just love Carter! He is sexy, demanding, and doing his best to get his life on track. His life hasn’t been all unicorns and rainbows either. He’s stuck in a predicament because of his father, and he may never get to actually be with his Tabby Cat because of this. He’s doing everything he can to get his life back, but when there are powerful people at play, it might be impossible. There are quite a few characters that make me want to stab them in the eye…. With a hot spoon! Not just Carter’s father, but someone much worse. The evil she witch has a special place in hell for her. Although, everything is not as it seems…
Hopefully we will find out in the next book! Maybe Tabitha should just stick with her brothers… maybe even give sweet Corey a chance…. Or maybe she could put herself out there and maybe, just maybe, not have her heart ripped to shreds!
I’m not going to lie…. I cried a little right at the end. My heart was just broken. Mrs. Willard, I have a special request! Please, hurry up and write book 2 lol! I need it! 5 Stars!! Must read!!!
Received a copy for an honest review. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved it. It kept me turning the pages and wanting more. I loved how the author alternated the woman's/man's point of view. I loved knowing how they were both feeling about certain situations.
This story follows Tabitha on her journey to trying to trust again. In college she had her heart and trust destroyed beyond compare and since that day her and her brother, Seth, vowed to lock away their hearts and throw away the key. Tabitha enjoys to hang out with her brother and his closest friends, drink, dance, and have a great time but without having to put her heart out there. While her boss and best friend, Angela, is out of town for business, she has to take over a virtual conference call with Carter Northwood from Georgia, Inc. The second their eyes connect with one another, their is an instant attraction. Even after feeling the attraction she has for him, she still won't allow herself to open her heart to him. Carter keeps showing up and proving how good and caring of a person he is and how much he wants to make her his own. She is still tentative to trust him, with good reason, but her walls slowly start to come down. But what she doesn't know is he has the ultimate secret that could destroy her trust and heart forever. This secret is one that could put Tabitha in danger and he wants to try to resolve it before she ever needs to find out. Will he find a way to keep her and his secret, or will he lose her forever?
This story does a cliffhanger, but the second book is out and ready to be read. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is interested in the sexual attraction/angst, secrets, and deception, but also a very good romance novel.
This was a cute read with an interesting plot. I really am on the fence of a lot of things pertaining to this book. The author leaves a lot of unanswered question that will hopefully be found out in book two. I can’t say I really like any of these characters there is much to build on and maybe with the next book and maybe with a little more understanding they will grow on me. The main issue I have is the repeat you see things from both Tabitha and Carter viewpoints which is nice but they repeat the same wording first one tells it than the other tells it word for word. If I have read it once than I do not need to read it again. I did find my mind wondering the author gives a lot of details that if they would have been left out it would have made a better read. I really can’t say what other issues I have since that would give the story away. What I will say is it was a cute read that left me with unanswered questions, the book is full of a lot of drama. The author goes give you some mystery that you will not find out until book 2 the why and how of the mess they have made of their lives.
What this book really boils down to is Carter takes one look at Tabitha knows he must have her but he can’t due to issues in his life. He is not willing to let her go, he more or less stalks her telling her she will be his but because of his issues is always a gentleman. He comes off alpha and over bearing but has a heart of gold. I do feel the characters pain along with other characters hate, we are not all the way sure of why the hate but it is there. There are people who have loved this story so far it just isn’t for me. Tomorrow I will start on book 2 and hope it fills in the missing blanks and will keep my attention.
Let me start by saying this is an amazing read and as always it’s very well written. It’s an awesome storyline and I can’t wait for book two. This book is done in a Dual POV but it’s awesomely done.
If you have read A.M. Willard’s One Night Series then you have meet Miss Tabitha Michaelson or as Carter calls her Tabby Cat. Tabitha has a Wild, Crazy and Free personality. Her brother and his friends call her Firecracker and I can promise after reading this book and even reading the One Night Series you will understand why. Tabitha does have a bit of an issue she has to take care of herself. What’s that issue you ask? Well that issue is called “The CB”, but that’s all I can really say. He He He
In Forever Night the final book in the One Night Series you also caught a glimpse of the sexy as sin Carter Northwood or The Stalker. Carter is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s sexy, has tattoos, and owns a business and head over heels in love with his Tabby Cat. However Carter has “The Problem” in his way. What’s “The Problem” you ask well you will just have to read this book and find out.
Once you finish this book you will be asking yourself these questions...
1. Will Carter’s problem be taken care of soon?
2. Will Tabitha trust Carter again?
3. Will Carter and Tabitha find their way?
A.M. Willard babe congrats on book four. It’s just as amazing as the first. I love that you gave me the chance to review this one for you and wanted you to know it’s amazing and I need me some more CARTER! I loved that I am the one you called about your wants and won’ts and you know you can call me anytime about anything. Now that you have seen my review you need to get your tush in gear and give me some more Carter. Love ya lady!!
After reading Unexpected Chances, I had to question myself…
WHY IN THE WORLD DID I NOT READ THIS NOVEL SOONER?!
Everything is so unexpected! From the fiery firecracker Tabitha to the sexy smothering eyes of Carter Northwood, the humour between Tabitha and her brothers, the writing and relationships between the characters are well-developed and I’ve definitely enjoyed this!
Unexpected Chances is probably one of the few novels that I have read and would describe the personality of the characters as complicated. This feeling…I feel as if I should lock both of them in a room and force them to stare at each other!
Tabitha is stubborn but so is Carter. He’s relentless in his pursuit for her but because of his own problems, he refused to drag the person he loves into his mess.
Now dear readers, what have we learned from watching one too many shows and reading too many books?
That is…TROUBLE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW YOU AND THE ONE YOU LOVE!
Hence, dear Carter, please, please, please just be with Tabitha!
That was basically my thoughts the whole time. Also, there is this one…one…biatch! Urgh! She makes me so frustrated!
Now I need the sequel. Badly.
Highly recommended for fans of Laurelin Paige’s FIXED trilogy and contemporary romance lovers!
Unexpected Chances is a great read. It's told in Carter and Tabitha's POV. They have a business video conference. They are attracted to each right away. The way their conference starts is funny. Tabitha can't help be seeing how sexy Carter is. I was loving the sexual tension between the two of the, but then I was like wait, did Carter mention he had a wife a few pages ago. Yup he did. As I read further with get more details on this. I don't fully understand his marriage to Bethany but it doesn't seem like a real marriage and he's trying to divorce her.
Carter is a little crazy in wanting to get to know Tabitha. I don't think Carter is used to not getting what he wants. He has someone keep tabs on Tabitha and shows up places where she is. Ok so that should be a little creepy but some how Carter makes it uncreepy and a little bit sexy.
Cory has always been Tabitha's plus one. Cory wants a little more than friendship. When Tabitha and Carter start a relationship I felt a little bad for Cory. But Cory will always be a great friend for Tabitha.
Carter and Tabitha's relationship gets a little rocky. Carter keeps some things from Tabitha. Some things happen in the end and Tabitha finds out what Carter has been hiding. In the very end we get a little POV from Bethany. Wow, Bethany's POV was a surprise. I can't wait to read the next one to see how everything turns out.
Tabitha is the executive assistant for her best friend in a company they started after college; Tabitha manages the office stuff while Angela handles the customers. Of course sometimes she ends up taking video calls for new clients-which is where Carter comes in. Tabitha is patiently waiting for a run of the mill video call with a new client, trying to recover from a long night out before and Carter catches her on video with her eyes closed, almost as if she was sleeping on the job! This is seriously the best meet cue! I love how he simply watches her until she finally realizes he is there; it sets the dynamics for their relationship from the start. Tabitha is constantly doing slightly ditsy things and Carter seems to be the audience for all of them! It’s hard not to laugh at some of the fun that is had in this story!
Carter has built his business up from the ground and is determined to succeed on his own. Unfortunately due to a forced marriage to a terrible woman whose father has power and money, Carter is finding himself and anyone that comes into his life in danger. His wife is determined to control his life and Carter tries but fails to protect Tabitha from it. This twist adds a bit of mystery and danger to the story making it an intense read.
Carter and Tabitha’s story is fantastic read; this book is the first in the series and the cliff hanger at the end leaves you looking forward to what happens next!
I just finished reading this book and let me tell you, when an author ends a book on a cliffhanger it drives me crazy. What drives me crazy is the reason they leave the book like that is so you will get the next book because you are hooked. Well it worked on me, as soon as I was done reading it I got the second book. I loved this book. There was just the right amount of romance and suspense. I cried almost every time that Tabitha cried, it just tore at my heart the way she wasn't able to trust or love the way she wanted too. It also tore at my heart that Carter couldn't show how much he loves Tabitha. Carter has some secrets that are keeping him from being with Tabitha. I understand that he did it to protect her but it still sucked. The secrets start to come out by the end of the book but we don't learn all of them.
I'm trying not to give too much of the book away but it's so hard. I hope in the second book that Tabitha and Carter find their happy ending. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I was trying to read two books at once but I just couldn't do it. I put the other book aside and focused on this one. I give this book five stars and hopefully I can read the next one soon, it's going to drive me crazy until I do.
Unexpected Chances by author A. M. Willard has a great premise for a storyline. However, the stilted writing style really made this a difficult read for me. I love first person writing because you can get into the character’s head, however I think this story would have been better if written in third person. Some of the phrasing and observations were just a little out of place in first person style writing.
Having said that yes the story itself is wonderful. If you can brave the first chapter, you will find a spicy romance with great potential.
Tabitha is my kind of girl. She is feisty, sweet, and loves sparkles. How can you not love a sassy character who loves sparkles? I adored her whit and style.
Carter is a strong but likeable character. He really has a heart and soul and it shows in this book. He is what Tabitha needs even if Tabitha cannot see it at first.
Again, the story is great, I wished the writing had lived up to the story itself. I would have loved it much more. Now saying that would I read another from this author? Oh heck ya why? Because there is some great ideas in this book. I think a beta reader or some polish would make this amazing and unforgettable.
There are so many things happening in this book...Tabitha, is content in her job and her group of friends she has. Things get rocked during a conference call...a gorgeous blue eyed man shows up and she can't get her mind off him. She knows she's can't do anything with him since he's a client but that doesn't stop him from coming into her dreams at night. Her world soon gets rocked even more when one her friends confesses his feelings for her. Tabitha has been hurt and has basically shut down her heart. She's focused on work and having fun.
Carter, on the other hand, is intrigued by Tabitha but knows he can't do anything about it. He is caught in a web of lies and deceit. He is trying everything he can to get out of it but it's not working. Things keep going wrong until he finds a way out of it. He also can't deny he has feelings for Tabitha. It's a game of cat and mouse with these two. Once things are coming together, all you know what breaks them up again. Tabitha is hurt yet again...I'm dying to pick up the next one to see how she comes back from this and what happens next for her and Carter
Unexpected Chances
This is a 4.5 star book. This isn't one of those stories where boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy and girl have hot sex and then there's a happily ever after. Nope. Not even close. I can't go too much into it because I don't want to give the entire story away but I really enjoyed this book. It's in dual POV which I like. In the first couple of chapters the POV's were a bit repetitive of the previous chapter and was hoping the whole book wasn't that way. And she did not disappoint me.
Tabitha is a spitfire. She's doesn't take any crap. I love her attitude. She's smart and feisty. And doesn't trust easy at all. In fact that right there is her biggest problem. And Carter that poor guy is attached to a ruthless bitch I love to hate. That's his biggest problem. The mystery in this book is just that. A mystery. And it still is. Something big is going down and it's going to effect every last character in this book. Can't wait to read book two in this series. With that ending I expect the next one to be ever better. Great job!
