Just watch the movie. This book is an enormous waste of time. I have no idea why someone thought it would be a good idea to write a book almost word for word from the movie. The added thoughts and descriptions were boring. The dialogue ripped from the movie lost the humor, inflection, sarcasm, etc so that it mostly fell flat. It was just bad. The movie is ten times better.

Well, I like the movie, and this is the movie in book form, so I guess I like the book. It has a few extra lines in it that weren't as good as others, so I'm glad they didn't make it in the movie.

I really love Maude in the movie, so I found myself picturing her a lot while I read. I'm not convinced of Harrison Ford's devotion to Sabrina in the end, though....they seemed kind of mechanical and plastic/fake to me.

David in the movie isn't 'dashing', but is a good actor. I found I couldn't picture my own characters (my own imaginations) as I read, so that was a downfall when the characters from the movie fell short.

All in all, a great chick flick. I love love love Sabrina in the movie, her dad, the made, even Rosa, Elizabeth, the Tysons, etc.

Sabrina the movie loved it to bits.
Harrison Ford & Julia Ormond we’re so perfect for the role.
Sabrina is one of my favourite movies of all time, seen over 50 times & bought this book when the movie came out.
This book has been sitting in my bookshelf ever since & that is over 20 years ago 1996.
I never really bothered reading the book knowing it was so close to the script.
But years have gone by, recently cleaning out my bookshelf & decided to read it not wanting to let it sit there not being read.
Have not seen the movie for 2 years now, that is way too long I may now watch it on the weekend.

Loved this book, love the movie it is a treasure.

This is a novelization of the movie; which became obvious once you realized it was set in modern times well after the first Sabrina film (1954), which was apparently based on a 1953 play. So... This is a novelization of a remake of a movie adaptation of a play.
As long as your expectations are managed, and if you're only reading it to start clearing out the random books that have started cluttering up all your shelf space, it's not a bad way to waste two hours.

I thought this book was quite intereting, I like how the book is written and the emotions expressed throught the book. My favorite character would be the David because hes rich and cool. My favorite event was when sabrina found out there was a wedding happening. I don't really like long books but this one gave me the oppoutunity to read at my own pace. Hardly can connect to this book but I did kinda enjoy reading this book, also liked the movie.

Basically a fairytale. Got to the point and a good romance. Loved it cause it was short.

I remember watching the movie when I was younger with my grandma. The book was amazing, and definitely brought on some nostalgic feelings for me. It is short, sweet and ends beautifully.

A fairytale too good to be true...

Suka banget filmnya, terutama sama Indiana Jones, eh Linus Larrabee.

Mungkin terjemahan bebasnya: manusia nggak punya hati (bukan jantung).

Kalau disuruh memilih, aku juga bakal pilih Harrison Ford daripada Greg Kinnear sih, apalagi kalau Harrison Ford-nya masih semuda di Star Wars atau Raiders of the Lost Ark... ^.^

It was OK. You can't get your hopes up too high when the book is based on the movie, but I had been hoping for a little more insight into the characters. The actors and the director gave the characters far more depth than the book did. I did like some of the scene descriptions: Louis teaching Sabrina photography, Linus waiting for Sabrina on the Paris street.

Excerpt of Sabrina, David, and Linus:

"Can he hear me?" she asked Linus.
"David!" Linus exclaimed.
His eyelids fluttered open. He stared blankly at them as if he'd never seen either one of them before. Then his eyes focused on Sabrina, and he grinned. "Sabrina," he mumbled. "Hi."
She smiled and gently stroked his cheek. "Hi."
"Did the dry cleaner have your car?"
He was making no sense. She guessed that he was on drugs, to ease the pain and let him sleep.
"How are you doing?" asked Linus.
He blinked, tried to lift his head, and gave up. He blinked, as if he were trying to make them come into focus, then said, "I didn't get there, did I?"
"Are you in a lot of pain?" she asked.
"Pain?" He hooted, taking hold of her hand. "Ooh, your little hand," he cooed. Then suddenly, sounding like an excited kid, he said, "Guess what happened to me?"
"I know," she told him. "I feel awful."
"Me, too!" he agreed enthusiastically. "How do you feel, Linus?"
"Uh, you're falling a little behind, David," Linus said.
"Oh, good." He yawned and momentarily closed his eyes.
The poor baby. He needed to sleep.

I really enjoyed this book, which doesn't say much of an Audrey Hepburn fan, whom also loved the movies. I liked the way you could read the book and be right back behind the big screen all over again. The laughs are there and the romance is also still captivating. Yes this is an easy read, to say the very least, but if you are someone whom appreciates a Hollywood love story, or simply a good romance, than this is a perfect book to settle in with for the day.

I didn't realize until partially through the book that this novel is based on the movie rather than the other way around. (If I had known, I probably wouldn't have read it, to be honest.) Still, I think it's a testament to the author that it took me so long to realize the movie came first. It is pretty decent on its own. Not great, but not bad either.

Regret nothing and live by that credo. Book based on the Harrison Ford movie, love the movie, the book is an okay substitute, just read a few lines, close your eyes and you'll be watching the movie.
