Sergeant Orlan

by Scott Moon

Sergeant Jack Washington Orlan has a specialized skill set and a variable emotional range. He is a man built to dominate his enemies and paint planets red. As the ruthless victor of any engagement, he appreciates sunsets after well fought battles. The graffiti on his Fleet Single Person Assault Armor is equal to the work of a master engraver; his heavy hands create things of awe-inspiring beauty as he growls at loneliness.

It isn’t easy being the meanest dog in the pack.

Everything changed and nothing changed after Hellsbreach. The Hero of Man bounty didn’t last long and the Fleet wasted no time aiming him at the next war like a weapon with a pulse.

Sergeant Orlan, trained in every discipline of personal combat, never expected to be a father.

There are predictable outcomes for organizations that threaten the son of Orlan. What does it meant to be a hero?

Orlan has no idea.

Sgt Orlan: Hero of Man by Scott Moon is a story about how the ruthless Orlan finds out he is a father and goes after to save his son. In book one, he is not a very likeable fellow but in this book he is much better and glad he is there. Great short book full of action and emotion. This book fills in the cracks of book 2 so it can be read before or after book 2, Son of Orlan.

Orlan was my favorite character after roland so being able to know a bit more about him is pretty good, this book make an effort to humanize orlan so we can peek in how his minds work after hellsbreach, pretty good book overall.

no idea if it will be ku on amazon, can't find it on there, though it is a specialty giveaway book so that may have something to do with that, and of course as noted above, other stories in this storyline, and other stories as writer, 'space opera'-y
